| For those interested in the relationship between my three characters... (The Fallen) |
8/15/07 - 03:24 |
Lets start with a bit of background information.
The lore of these characters assumes of course, God is real and his angels are more than just messengers and harbingers of the apocalypse. They have their own personalities, form their own relationships, etc.
Also, take into account the fact that they are no longer going by their original names. There were all kinds of ancient invocations that called angels for specific tasks. It’s possible some have survived to modern day, and using their true names would be dangerous.
Now for the abridged version of their story.
Way back when civilization was first forming, Isidorus was charged with watching mortals, something of a sentry for God. He traveled among them for many, many years. Over time, the violent, sinful acts humans committed drove him mad. He took it upon himself to punish them before they could ask God for forgiveness. Cretheus comes into the picture here, sent to stop Isidorus’ murderous rampage. During the fight, they argued back and forth, Cretheus trying to understand Isidorus’ thought process, Isidorus berating and belittling Cretheus and his loyalty to their Creator.
When they stopped fighting due to the fact they were so evenly matched, they were entombed in the earth. Trapped in darkness, skewered on sharp rocks and spikes, the two spend an eternity together there. Cut to modern day, they were unearthed in an archeological dig and send to various research facilities and scientific labs for study.
Eventually the two were put on display in a traveling museum exhibit. Isidorus woke up first, causing much mayhem and destruction before he was appended in his weakened state. Cretheus woke up some time later in a special cell in the Zig.
At this point, both have escaped and are wreaking havock across the Isles. Cretheus blames Isidorus for tainting him and causing God to turn his back on him. He’s going to make him suffer in all manor of unspeakable ways. Isidorus on the other hand is continuing his holy crusade, although his idea of what a sinner is has become skewed over the years. To most he’s just some sort of psychopathic killer.
The newest part of this triangle would be Durant. He and Cretheus were lovers before Cretheus fell and he’s come to earth looking for his companion. Once here however he discovered Cretheus found a new obsession and has no room in his life for an old flame. Durant decided he would get his lovers attention. In a very childlike way, he’s acting out, causing irreparable damage, throwing bloody tantrums, clawing his way through street gangs and any law enforcement that come for him, all in an attempt to make Cretheus notice him.
There you go. It’s quite the sordid affair. |
