| Factions! |
5/4/06 - 09:39 |
| I have to admit it: I love GW Factions! The landscapes and architecture are absolutely incredible, as is the soundtrack. But while it's very relaxing to play outside the city streets, the cities themselves have definitely been inspired by the asian streets of the Real World - ranging between fairly clean marketplaces and bazaars, to the grunge-filled sewers of the Undercity, every quest and mission in Cantha is filled with danger. Gang members leap upon unsuspecting parties from the rooftops and swarm up from beneath bridges; monsters, both plague-victims and sewer-beasts attack from every side, and you never know when the harmless peasants will suddenly mutate in your presence and add to the count of bodies to be slain. The only complaint I have is that all the GW veterans seem to have disappeared! Perhaps it's the inevitable newbie-syndrome that comes with learning the two new classes, Ritualist and Assissin, but I did not think that the courteousness and intelligence of GW players would regress to match it! However, the fact that all the henchmen in Cantha are lvl 20 does allow the game to go on, even if not at the same speed. All in all, Factions is definitely the next step up in the GW game and I can hardly wait for the third chapter to come out. :-) |
| Yes! Finally, I am back online! |

| It was a hard lesson to learn, but I have learned it well: when Toshiba makes a good computer, it's a damn good one - and when they screw up, they do so royally and without any intention of admitting the mistake. But at least they're smart enough to make a half-hearted attempt at compensation. After endless delays and the final excuse of "losing" my computer somewhere, they finally sent me this new Satellite. It's worth several hundred $$$ less than my original, but I'm too happy to just have a computer again to complain. As least it plays GW - that's more than I can say for the rental computers I was enduring! *sigh* So, I'm finally back in-game. I have soooooo much work to do to prepare for Factions, it's not even funny. With that in mind: "forwaaaaaard, MARCH!" |

All I have to say is: SCREW TOSHIBA!!! In light of my current computer-les-ness (and thus GW-less-ness) I'd say this one is on the money.

3/11/06 - 05:36 |
| ...but I did it anyways: I bought GW:Factions. Grrrr... and my computer is still in the shop! Although since I've been browsing through the forums and have read so many complaints about error messages, bugs, and the like, I'm beginning to think that it might no be such a bad situation after all: I would hate to get my character stuck somewhere, or be kicked out in the middle of a mission. But I am getting rather peeved at this rental computer. I'm lucky I can play NWN to keep myself occupied. *rolls eyes* |

| You scored as Norse Pantheonic Pagan (Asatru). You might well be Asatru, or Norse Pagan. With prodominantly Germanic and Slavic roots, the Gods of the Norse are strong, bawdy and passionate. Many men feel drawn to these gods, and this is the faith for those who celebrate courage, valor and strength. Home of one of the most well known Gods of mischief and fire, Loki, followers of this pantheon tend to be full of good humor and also strong in spirit and frequently the protectors of those they care for.

| You scored as Pisces. You get along best with the sign of Pisces. Although Pisceans can be very withdrawn, or hard to understand, they are extremely conscious individuals, and are very deep as well. Pisceans often have a very dry sense of humor. They are very mature (after all, they are the 'ELDERS of the Zodiac'), and are freakishly good at percieving the world around them, practically to the point of being 'psychic.' Few can understand the depths of these people, but the few who can remain close friends with Pisceans for a long time.

If I wasn't Vanilla, I'd be:
Mmm, I am Lemon Flavoured.
I am bitter and twisted. Expect from me acerbic humour and sharp commentary. While I may seem nasty at first, I'm actually quite good company if I like you, so long as you don't mind a bit of cutting to the chase. What Flavour Are You?

| *Sigh* Another week away from GW |
3/4/06 - 11:05 |
This rental computer stinks. I'll log in to GW, wait the five minutes for each new area to load, and start playing - only to have things suddenly speed up because **Whoops!** lag has been taking effect the entire time. So, all those monsters I was fighting and those people I was healing... yeah, none of it happened. And then to top things off, just as things started to seem like they were catching up, the group went into a movie scene; this hunk of junk locked up completely and I had to exit the game through alt+ctl+del just to get things working properly again! Grrrrrrr.
The only good thing that's coming out of this is that I have learned far more about computer systems than I would have ever been motivated to learn on my nice Toshiba. Unfortunately, the only thing my new knowledge can thus far aid me in is identifying the fact that this rental sucks... in tech-lingo, of course.
*Sigh* Toshiba, oh Toshiba, wherefore art thou, Toshiba? |

| Lag Time ... Grrrrr |
3/2/06 - 12:07 |
My lovely little Toshiba Protege (laptop) had an internal fan failure, and in order to avoid melting components and totally wasting an incredible amount of money, I took it back in to CompUSA. Estimated time until maintainence/repair completion: 1 wk - 6 wks. [This depends on whether or not it has to be shipped back to Toshiba for repair or if they can simply fix it in-shop.]
I cannot live without a computer for that length of time.
Solution: Rent-A-Center
So, now I have a computer [HP Pavilion (another laptop)] and the lag time while playing GW is incredible; I remember now why I only buy Toshibas! *rolls eyes* I believe I am officially going mad.

Their current guild leader is Straight Jacket (lvl 18) and their first officer is King of The Lizards (20). KoTL and another member, Sigma Neo, are online most often; you can likely find them around 6pm-3am Eastern Standard Time. |
