I can't seem to have enough alts! PPD Angel is my newest creation on City of Heroes Freedom server. This character is a mutation defender with kinetics and darkness powers. I made her to go along wih my husband's tank "PPD Brick". This is a fun combo for us that we do a lot in games. I am the healer/buff character and he is the tanker. We've done some type of this combo in other games, and most recently in CoV we leveled a corruptor and brute to level 50 together.

This character is one I am going to add the wings to once I reach enough months for that veteran's reward. 4 more months to go! By then I might even have her up to a high level... if I don't lose interest and move on to something else of course!

My computer is acting better, not any lock-ups after several hours of playtime last night. Yay! *knocks on wood*

I had a fun team last night on the Freedom server with my blaster Longshot Lucy. She's Arrows/Devices and really dishes out the damage.

I did have a few times where she died during the missions. I have a good screenshot of her being flung across the room before her demise. I was lucky to get a rez, and was back up just in time to ding level 20!

Level 20 is good because I get the stamina power to help recover endurance faster....and blasters need all the endurance they can get. Also at level 20 I get to unlock another costume slot, and do a mission to get my cape.

My computer behaved and didn't lock up or reboot once. Yay! Hopefully whatever problems I had the last few nights have been resolved.

I played some of my alt characters last night. First up, I played Inferno Girl and got her from level 18 up to 21. I had some nice teams (thanks you guys!). Reaching level 20 is special in CoX because that's when you can earn your cape and also the second costume slot. I was lucky enough to get some help with both of the required missions. Picking out a new outfit is one of my favorite parts of the game! I went with a total new look since I had a free tailor session token.

Then later, I played my brute, and got her up to level 41 by romping around Recluse's Victory with one of the big spider pets helping me kill stuff. My brute is a joy to play. She can kick some serious booty. I'll write more about her another time. =)

One of our good in-game City of Villains friends made a new gangster supergroup on the Freedom server. Jumping on the opportunity, I decided that this was the perfect time to try out the new Thug Mastermind class.
I took the thugs and dark powersets. I am very happy with the "feel" and effectiveness of the powers so far. The thugs seem much better than the ninjas for minions. It has been a while since I played my ninja MM so maybe they are better now. I have Connie up to level 9.

Her costume came out looking pretty good too, I think. Mostly I play my 'toons with armor or pants, but this gal needed the business suit with the short skirt, smokey dark hose, and high heels.

On my main toon tonight, our regular team successfully completed the Lord Recluse Strike Force. Yes, another "Hammy" for Kiari! Rar!

My new controller is already level 18 and I hope to get her leveled up quickly. She has fire and kinetics powers...I call them pyrokinetics!

When things get too hot to handle, its time to call Inferno Girl! *da da daaaaa*

Speaking of hot, back in real life, its freakin hot. We had temperatures in the 90s today, and the heat index was in the 100s. I'm writing my blog today from my laptop inside the air-conditioned bedroom. Ahhhhh. The rest of the house we (try to) cool with fans.

Tomorrow evening I've been invited to play my main Villain in the Lord Recluse Strike Force. I am looking forward to it. My husband got to do it last night, and it looked like he was having a fun time of it. Wish me luck! Rar!

My husband brought home a big HUGE pack of Monster Energy Drink from Sam's Club. I had one today before I went into work and all I have to say is WOW. That stuff really does give you a kick. I was buzzing with energy and felt good. For about five hours I was like Hammy from Over the Hedge. Then after that, it was like someone turned off a switch. I crashed hard, and was tired and dragging my butt the last three hours of my shift.

My husband is playing a Strike Force on City of Villains tonight with some people on Teamspeak. Since I didn't get home from work in time to start with them, I basically have the evening here to myself, and tomorrow is my day off. Yay!

I plan to get in some good game time tomorrow, and also I want to ride my bike some. Hopefully I will get up early and start my ride before the heat of the day hits...Temperatures are supposed to be in the 90s!

Have you guys seen the new reality series that is coming out on the Sci-Fi Channel? Who Wants to Be a Superhero?

I think they are going out of their way to make superheroes look ridiculous and cornball. There are so few things kids have to look up to in this world today. And here Sci-Fi and Stan Lee have come along to shatter and mock the superhero image. Anything to make a quick buck, I guess.

I'm doing a lot better today. Whatever made me sick yesterday has pretty much ran it's course. I got some housework done. I aired out the tents from our camping trip and shook out the accumulated dirt and leaves. Then came the task of putting the tents back into the teensy carrying bags that they are supposed be stored in. Several attempts later, I managed to get the tents suitably stuffed into each individual receptacle.

I played some more Hero Online...I made a new physician character and leveled her up to 1Dan 0Kyu (level 10). I picked her profession and then logged out, so I cannot comment too much on the class yet. I have yet to do much teaming in HO, so it will be interesting to see how effective a healer can be. I enjoy the healer role in other MMOs, and I am hoping for another good experience.

Yep yep, still playing Hero Online's open beta. I played a couple hours of CoH and CoV last night...and I should play CoH/CoV more, because I just got a new game time card, and I'm actually paying to play it. But here I am anyway playing the addictive HO instead.

At level 20 you are able to get a horse, and in the next few levels I can get my job specific mount, a reindeer! The deer really does look kinda dorky, but I want one anyway because I think it would be fun to ride.

Back in real life...One of the girls at work suggested we "order out" some lunch yesterday and we both shared a very tasty sub from one of the local pizza shops. I later regretted it, because I was up most of the night sick. =( I think they served us food with old ingredients or something. I'm still feeling a bit queasy in the tummy, but ah well. I was off work today...I wonder if she got sick too...

I picked up my first profession in Hero Online: The hunter. You go out and tame animals for your own use and also to sell to other players.

I've made quite a bit of money while I was AFK, by putting my pets for sale in my "store". The store lets you sell up to six items right off your character, as long as you stay logged in. Before I went to bed last night I set up shop outside the bank. When I checked in the morning, all my pets had sold! Cha-ching!

The game really does grow on you... at least at first. I can see it getting "old" eventually as the levels get longer and the grind sets in.

I read that the game is going to come out of beta in about two weeks and go "live". Is it ready? Well...It is more ready than some games I've played (hmmmm like AO) on release. Hopefully they are working on a better "final build".

I've had the "Ironman" badge in City of Villains for a while now, and always thought that it should have a female version of it as well. I'm glad they made the update. The rest of today's patch notes can be found here.

I've made very little progress in getting leveled up. Yesterday I ended up going to play tennis, and then played some Hero Online. I also had housework and made two meals yesterday.
The last few days of my time off work is going so quickly! Tomorrow I go back to work at 8am (grrr). Oh well, I still have a few vacation days and personal days to spend this year...maybe I'll put them in for some days in September and go to the Renfest.

Yesterday my son kept trying to get me to play the Hero Online Open Beta with him. I gave in, and took some time away from my CoV to try it out a little. It was actually quite fun. I had some difficulty getting used to the UI, but my son had it figured out rather quickly. It uses a point and click mouse movement, and I am so used to moving a character with the WASD keys.

After scanning the "notice to all players", a few key points caught my eye...

I am excited to see more games use the "Guild Wars approach" to no monthly fees. Once you buy the game its yours to play as much as you like for no extra fees.

All of the beta tests I've ever been in have had a complete character wipe when the beta was over. This is a nice head start for anyone who thinks they are going to be playing the game.

I think the game needs a lot more work. I would like more UI customization options (like WASD movement). There seemed to be a lack of instructions, and a lot of broken English. That said, it IS in beta, and perhaps they will make improvements before the actual release.

I'm back from vacation and also back into playing my City of Villains account. I play on the Virtue server, because it is supposed to be the "unofficial" roleplay server. It is few and far between that I find a good roleplay team, but thats ok. I don't always roleplay myself. Our villain group, The Evil Isles Dojo is classified as "light" RP. Its nice because we can slip in and out of RP-mode at any time. Our "out of character" chat doesn't have to be in brackets ((like so)), and it is very laid back and mature.

I've been playing around with decorating the base, and picking different costume options. My husband is getting ahead of me in levels again. I'm level 42 and he's level 44. I plan to play some groups this week and try to catch up while I am still off work. (and he had to go back to work today muhahaa!)

I've updated the Techiegal site some, subtle changes mostly to make editing easier. That means I'll be likely to update more often.

My Husband and I have been playing Planetside Reserves the last couple of days. It's a MMO-ish FPS-ish kind of game that is addicting. We played this game before back when it was in beta testing, and we even subscribed to it for a few months. After a while you get bored with it, but hey, its free.

I like to get in the MAX suits (kinda like mech armor) and zip around attacking stuff. I was on a nice streak last night, defending a tower almost by myself. Woo! My husband is learning some of the flying vehicles right now...I think I hear him crashing one right now in fact...heehee!

I had a busy day today. I worked 8 hours, and when I got home we had company. Mom and dad and the kiddos were all there eating goodies from the local ice cream shop. I decided I needed to have some too, so we walked up and I bought some chocolate peanut butter ice cream in a waffle cone. MmmmMmmm.

Yah, there goes the diet for today, but it was soooo good. I do get bonus calorie buring for walking there and back! A bit later we went to the high school and played tennis on the nice courts...so I burned off some more calories! I made enchiladas and refried beans for dinner...and my hubby made some banana corn bread...yum!

I get my share of characters to max level and then get tired of raiding, PVPing, or end-game stuff. I decide to quit that game and move on to another game that will help satisfy my MMO thirst. Or, I start a new game or trial and decide that it isn't for me. I'm not really that picky am I?

Some games I have ran a guild or had made really good friends...and then I turn my back on them and leave the game. I feel bad about doing it. Sometimes we might keep in touch, but for the most part they stay with the game and I move on never to see them again. In serveral games I've gathered good gear and lots of money (gold, credits, ISK, influence, plat, whatever) and uber-cool items...all to be left behind in a closed digital bank never to be opened again.

I've tried most of the "free trials" that are currently available, and havent had any of them stick with me except for Eve. EVE Online has been a nice change of pace, but now I find myself starting to hope for something new...again.

The rain has returned. I woke up this morning and did my stretches and workout, but didn't go on my bike ride because I didn't wanna get soaked. Instead, I played a little bit of the RF Online 10 Day Trial. While I try to recover from yesterday's bad day on EVE Online. I think RF Online looks pretty, but my gosh you level so slow! And the interface is a little clunky for me to learn. I like games with the WASD movement better than "hold your mouse and click" movement. I doubt it is something I'll play any longer than the free trial...but I said that about Eve too. Most likely when my hubby wakes up we will both be playing Eve together. The sun finally came out in Ohio today, and we had a nice day. Too bad I was at work. Don't get me wrong. I love the rain. Well another movie based on a book has been relesed before I got around to reading the book. I know from experience that the movies leave out sooo much that was in the book. I probably will go see the new movie soon, and if I really want to know more, I can get the book from the library or Amazon and skim-read it to get the rest of the story.

Tonight is the second day of closing three nights in a row at work...blah! blah! blah! At least I get to sleep in a little and then get a morning workout in. I like a not-so-rushed morning.

My friend Johnny at work introduced me to my newest addictions...Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2. What a cute game!! I'm currently working my way through the first one now. I usually don' get much into console games...I used to only play DDR on my PS2. But all that has changed. I'm enjoying this game immensely. Kingdom Hearts has such gorgeous graphics that I can't get over the fact that its on a PS2!! The story just sucks you in. I wish I would have tried KH sooner.

Last night, my secondary computer...the one I had the hard drive problems with a few days ago...decided to bite the big one. I'm pretty sure the motherboard is bad. I used that computer for email, ventrilo, downloads, IMs, etc. I'm going to promote my laptop up to fill that role for now. My main game PC is working fine *knock on wood*. Or maybe I could get a new Dell... hmmm...

To all the Mom's out there who read my blog...Happy Mothers Day! It's nice to have one day out of the year where you are recognized for all the things you do! =) My day was really nice. I spent most of the morning relaxing (and playing some on the computer of course). Then we went over to my brother's house and had a nice dinner with Mom and the family. AND BONUS! I didn't have to cook tonight (Thank you Toni, it was really good. heehee)

It's day number two of my glorious three day off weekend! I started off right this morning by doing my stretches, workout and a bike ride.

I played a little bit of EVE Online, and settled in for a relaxing morning and afternoon. Little did I know I would be playing Computer Repairwoman! instead. My secondary computer decided it wanted to show me the "Blue Screen of Death" with little white letters telling me "Hard disk error:Unknown". My BIOS was having problems detecting that drive as well. I was able to coax Windows back up briefly, and backed up my documents, some pictures, and some music that I had not backed up perviously. Then I ran Checkdisk, and it would just freeze up. Yep, my long time 20gig hard drive bit the dust. I have a 120gig hard drive in that machine with it, and that drive is ok. So now I'm putting Windows on the 120gig drive. Yay Fun! (or not lol) The bright side of all of this is that with a new Windows install everything should run a bit faster now.

My main machine, thank goodness, is running just fine. *knocks on wood*

Well, it is a lousy rainy day here in Ohio. Perfect weather to stay inside and game!!! Our Corp (guild) in EVE Online is doing a long mission. with 5 or 6 gates. The bounty rewards are quite good, and the challenge is rewarding.

Well EVE Online is down tonight for hardware upgrades so we decided to try out the free 7 day DDO Trial. So I go to make my character...I made a Elf Cleric, and then get her all set up, and in the game and then I can't move! I was doing everything I was supposed to be, my character was just stuck. I could relog, come back on, move about 20 steps, and I was stuck again. I asked around, and several people told me "oh, that happens", and that I should re-install my game to fix it. On EVE Online tonight, hubby wants me to go mining with him. That's where we mount ore-miner lasers on the spaceships and gather materials for crafting. Not the most fun thing to do in the game, but it is fairly profitable. I think he wants to go for some more valuable ore, which is in the farther out, less guarded systems. I hope we don't get blown up by player pirates. =)

Yay Day off today! I've been playing some EVE Online this morning. Its kind of chilly in here so I decided to bundle up in a blanket while I play. The leader of our Corp (guild) is trying to set up a space station for us! I was kinda bored last night because instead of playing we were hauling stuff around for it. I'm sure it will be well worth it though.

I should go work out some...but feeling lazy...maybe I'll wait until it warms up outside, its still cold this morning.

I was a good girl this morning. Its my day off and I got so much done! I woke up and did my workout right away. Then I rode my bike for a while. Its such a pretty day. I'm glad I didn't stay inside and play Guild Wars. Then after I got back, I looked around to see what housework I should take on today. *cough* well okay, I'll admit I logged in to Guild Wars and tried to get a group for about 10 minutes. I couldn't get on a team, so I decided to log off a bit and then do housework =)

I did some laundry while I did the semi-annual closet change over. Time to take the winter clothes and put them away and get out the summer cloths. I should also be deciding what stuff don't fit, and see what stuff needs to go. I just put clothes in the closet or dresser without discarding any. (yay! my dresser actually looks like a real dresser and not Mt. Clothesmore).

I logged in to EVE Online for a bit and made sure I had a skill training. Once I did that, I thought I'd sweep the house. There was hair all clogged around the roller (yeck) so I got out the scissors and cut it off, put on a fresh sweeper belt and put it back together. I finished sweeping, and decided while I was motivated to go outside and mow the grass. We live on a small lot, so it wasn't too bad. Then, after the grass was mowed, I put the mover away and went into the cool house. Ahhh. I lit some candles and sat down to relax a bit. Time for a nice cool shower.

Tonight when my hubby gets home, we're going to do some level 3 missions on Eve with our Corp (guild) leader. It should be fun. I've been working on improving my support ship skills, so I can "heal" shields, while the boys blast the snot out of our targets. Until he gets home from work, (since I've done enough housework for the day) maybe I can find a group in Guild Wars. =)

My poor tummy! I ate something yesterday that didn't agree with me. I've been sick most of the night last night. I wasnt able to keep any food or liquid down. This morning I'm feeling somewhat better, but still very tender in my tummy. If it was food from work, I wonder if anyone else got sick? I guess I'll find out when I go in today at noon.

Ahhh what a long day. I packed a nice lunch to bring with me to work. Once I got to work, I realized I left my lunch at home on the kitchen table. I didn't have time to run back home and get it. I ended up getting something almost edible and certainly unhealthy from the snack counter. Then the workday itself was pretty rough. I was moving around TVs (with some help), swapping out bad splitter boxes, and crawling around under racks and counters to run HD cables. It seems like the harder you work, the more they give you to do. I am still the Retail Goddess (I have my plaque of Sam Walton hanging in my computer room to prove it so there! muhahaha), and nothing so slight can keep me down for long.

Well, in typical kiddo fashion, they decided that they weren't so much into seeing the movie yesterday as I was, so the hubby and I decided we will go see RV tomorrow. Both of us get off work early, so we should be able to hit a bargain matinee showing. I wanted to see the movie yesterday, but at least this way I'll get off a little cheaper.

Nothing really interesting happened last night at work. I got home and just relaxed some with the family.

We're planning on going to the movies today to see RV. I like Robin Williams... he is a classic and contagiously hillarious, and Jojo is my favorite young actress.(I think Jojo was the best actress in that flop of a movie "Aquamarine"). Hopefully all the best parts of RV aren't just in the previews. I'll post my thoughts about it here later tonight or tomorrow.

Guild Wars : Factions is holding my attention pretty well. I made a new Ritualist. The Ritualist is a spirit summoner who uses minions to attack, heal, defend, and buff.
I'm still splitting my game time between Factions and EVE Online. My favorite part of Eve is how you gain your skill levels. If you log in you can set what skills you want to advance and then log back off, and it will learn them while you are offline (or playing Guild Wars lol).

Today I go in to work early afternoon and stay until close. So just as the hubby is ready to be getting home from work, I'm goin in to work. Yeck! Well at least I get to sleep in. After I post this, I'm going to go workout some, then ride my bike and hit the shower.

After I'm all clean and shiney I'll settle down to game a while. I found out my Everquest 2 trial is over. I thought it was a 14 day trial, but it was only 7 days. boooo =( I was having so much fun playing EVE Online that I lost track of time.

One of the guys in our Corp (guild) said that they sometimes play a girl character in order to gain an upper hand in PvP. He said that if he played a girl toon, his opponent would go easier on him thinking maybe he was really a girl.
I argued that from a female prospective, I never really found that to be true when I would PvP. My opponents would go after me just as fiercely as they do anyone else.
I commented that I kinda suck at PvP anyway though, and then my hubby says "Well, thats because you ARE a girl." I want to practice and get really good at PvP just to prove them wrong! Then, when he least expects it...boom! I will be standing there with my guns smoking and warm over his dead character's body. Muhaha!

Its here finally! I'm pretty hyped up about it, I admit.
I played some yesterday during the pre-order "head start" period. I explored a litte bit of Cantha with my new Assassin. I'll play with the ritualist some today. Assassins wield daggers with fatal precision and can teleport to strike down enemies up close, while Ritualists summon the spirits of the dead to control the battlefield. The graphics are stunning (on my new video card - yay!) and they have new faces, hair styles and armor sets to pick from. Guild Wars Factions
