| Fame & Fortune Confront Redfang the Unruled |
6/5/07 - 07:15 |
This next entry into the Log of Fame & Fortune is a cautionary tale of magical meddling into the makeup of creatures without the guidance of the Divine Flame. Fame & Fortune were contacted by a certain Basil Tallbarrow, a meddler into the structure of creatures better left to those more wise and skilled than himself. In an ironic twist of fate (or the guidance of the Deity?) this Tallbarrow had been forced to flee his laboratory after creating an especially large and lethal form of arachnid, which he named Redfang. This monstrous spider was lairing in the depths of Tallbarrow’s laboratory, defended by others of her kind released from Tallbarrows bondage, and worse still, possibly breeding. An abomination surely, but then we have seen so many since coming to Stormreach.
Fame & Fortune recruited Girder the Warforged and Nepcal the Dwarf to add clout to our extermination efforts, and quickly moved into the Laboratories winding entrance tunnel. Any doubt about the presence of spider was quickly dispelled by the thick, clinging webs the obscured our sight and obstructed our path. The passage was also trapped, presumably an effort by Tallbarrow to contain his specimens. Large brown spiders and Glass spiders swarmed about. Normally we would just crush them, their appearance is worse than their bite, but they were distracting us from the process of finding and disabling the traps. At least once this worked in our favor as one of the many legged nuisances triggered a jet of flame upon itself. We quickly learned to stay away from the silken cocoons of the glass spiders at Garmans expense. They explode at the slightest movement, and their fragments inhaled quickly sap the strength of the unfortunate victim. Fortunately I was able to restore the Halflings strength, but I must admit there are times that I wish he was not so impetuos.
Further into the Laboratory we encountered scorpions and more of Tallbarrows trickery. He had arranged for the gate to the lower level to be opened by two levers on elevated platforms in a vain attempt to contain the bestiary. The larger spiders are quite cunning though, and one of the beast was well positioned to attack anyone attempting to operate the mechanism. After several attempts, we sent the Warforged over the top to slay the beast, as his kind has greater immunity from poison. This monstrosity slain, we proceed down into the dungeon. Fortunately Garman spotted an acid trap before anyone was harmed, and disarmed it. The next room was again guarded by a huge, poison spitting arachnid. This creature had the wit to call itself Venom, proving that Tallbarrow has gone too far with his manipulations of the natural order. Named or not, we slew the spider, hacking its legs from its bloated body and retrieving its sting as proof of our conquest.
We took advantage of a nearby shrine to replenish our strength and clean the gore from our weapons and armor. So far things had been going well for us, but we were on guard. None of us appreciates any 8 legged being larger than a mouse, especially not our smaller friends who could potentially become a meal for one of these giants. The door way to the lower levels was trapped with spikes, but Garman again proved his worth quickly disarming it. The room below was trapped, again with spikes, spearing up through the floor. We avoided the spikes by following the ledges that lined all of these areas. From here Haraldos bow was highly effective. We continued on to the next hall to find it extremely effectively trapped. Numerous vents in the walls were spewing toxic stream in various directions and at different times. Garman was doing his best to disarm them, but to no avail. Within moments most of our party were suffering from exposure, and in a severly weakened state. Here again the Divine Power intervened, and I was at least partially able to restore my comrades to their full health. No sooner had I done this than we were beset by Venoms brother, Bile. We dealt with Bile as we dealt with Venom and proceeded.
The hallway descended and Garman disabled several more fire traps before we reached the lair of Redfang the Unruled. Her caverns was tremendous. She had been busily at work. Cocoons and silken webs covered everything. Two of Redfangs minions quickly sprang to her aid while she kept at a distance with her poisonous sting. Neither she nor her offspring were our match though. In the end Redfang was slain like the rest. Basil Tallbarrows traps had been a more dangerous foe. We eviscerated the beast and removed her sting to prove the deed to Tallbarrow and hopefully show him the consequences of his meddling….

.......Hi guys,
nice questing yesterday. But an adventure without Haraldo is not the same. I miss the sight of that little guy with that huge bow cowering in the corner with shaking knees, waiting anxiously for the fights to be over...

| Fame & Fortune and the Foul Chambers |
5/22/07 - 11:56 |
As our reputation grows and we have finally gained access to the market, Fame & Fortune has been able to secure further patrons. I was contacted by Ulcana Braddock, a representative of the Coin Lords, in the matter of a missing group of adventurers. It seems that they had been in the employ of the bankers when they disappeared in a particularly nasty section of the Marketplaces sewers known as the “Foul Chambers”. She wouldn’t say what the nature of their business in the sewers was, and I didn’t feel it was necessary to know. Discretion in this business is a valued trait, and the favor of the Coin Lords can be very lucrative….
Once again the Fortuneers and their friends were assembled, dragged from seats worn to the shapes of their behinds in their favored taverns by the promise of adventure, danger, and gold. Our descent into the sewers was accompanied by the usual good natured banter and ribbing, after all its just the sewers, what could go wrong. There were the usual quips about Paullan being lost, Haraldo being useless, and Garman being ugly.
The chambers were indeed foul, dank, dark and filled with an unbelievable stench. It was the unmistakeable odor of Troglodytes, mingled with muskiness of their lesser cousins, Kobolds. Wafting through this already gag inducing miasma I caught the faint thread of death. Something not dead but not living awaited us as well… The banter quickly died as the Fortuneers got down to the business at hand. This turned out to be the true adventurers bane, the ubiquitous gray ooze that seems to thrive beneath Stormreach. We clubbed them until they liquefied, doing our best to keep the corrosive spatter from damaging our armor. A stout wooden club has become standard equipment on a Fortuneers belt for this very reason.
As we descended further we were ambushed by a kobold patrol, but they were no match for us. As the last kobold bled out upon the filthy floor we looked about. The sewer branched East and West, and ahead of us was a door. Garman’s assessment of the door was that it was mechanically barred. We would have to find the mechanism. We opted to head east first. The kobolds in these sewers are really a plague, but I grudgingly respect their determination. That will not stop us from slaying them on sight however. We hadn’t gone far before our fearless rogue Garman, was giving us the signal warning us of traps. We waited while he scouted about, keeping an ear open for shouts for help. He is fearless, but also reckless, diving headlong into battle without regard to his limited armor and light weaponry. We gave a quick sigh when he returned, having disabled the trap. He also warned us that there were several kobolds waiting for us. After a quick check of armor and weapons we proceeded and slew the ambush party. Then, as we rounded a bend we came face to face with what could only be the party of adventurers we were seeking. Unfortunately they were no longer alive, and even more unfortunately neither were they dead. But that is what the divine flame is for. I channeled its power through me, calling out to the Deity, and in a burst of righteous light the poor souls were released from their tortured state…
The Western passage was much the same as the eastern way, trapped and defended by kobold warriors and shamans and heavily trapped. Too our disappointment this passage held only the undead forms of the adventurers we had hoped to rescue. Regretfully I banished them and we returned to the exit. Our adventures in the Foul chambers were not yet done though. The musk of Troglodytes was still strong. We had been tinkering with the levers and valves as we moved through the tunnels and one of them must have opened the secret door. Within this passage we confronted a strong Troglodyte Shaman and his henchmen. It must have been he who created the undead adventurers. We were filled with anger at this crime, and as the battle erupted we focused it upon the malodorous reptile. When he and his minions were slain we looted his domain, and left their corpses to rot as a warning to any who might take up abode there again.
What did we find in the chests of the Troglodyte Shaman? The Coin Lords did not tell me what they sought and I did not tell them what we found. Only that they hirelings were slain….

| Fame & Fortune and the Kobold Assault |
5/21/07 - 08:29 |
….from Guard Crighton seeking the assistance of Fame & Fortune in the defense of a small forest outpost that was in danger of being over run. It seems Guard Tembers commendation has gained our Guild the favor of the Gaurds, and this in turn will lead to further contracts.
But Fame & Fortune are gained with sweat and blood, not contracts and favor. I quickly assembled a small war party (these were after all only Kobolds) consisting of Fame & Fortune and its friends, Girder the Warforged of the Guild Warfactory, and Nepcal the Dwarven Warrior (of the same clan as Haraldo, I believe). These two have become regular stalwarts of Fame & Fortunes exploits and though I honor their commitment to their Guilds, I would that they bore the banner of Fame & Fortune. Be that as it may, they are an effective addition to our arsenal.
In any case, the war party was assembled and we were ferried to the outpost. The garrison was indeed happy to see us. They had been on the verge of being overwhelmed by waves of the reptilian beasts. After a hurried conference with their captain we decided it would be best to carry the battle to the enemy in the hopes of discovering how the beasts had become so motivated.
None of our party could doubt that the Kobolds were aggressive and organized, when within moments of opening the gate we were attacked. We did our best to maintain a blocking position before the gate as wave after wave of Kobold warriors, supported by shamans, attempted to force their way into the keep.
We took up a position on a rock outcropping that commanded the area. Haraldo and Garman scouted the perimeter, warning of incoming groups, while Nepcal and Girder defended me. From here on out it would be steel against claw, mail against scale until the battle was won.
We took a heavy toll, but shear weight of numbers began to tell against us. The healing quality of the Divine Flame was in great demand. Finally, I had to break off the engagement and retreat to the local shrine for meditation. As I meditated and felt the flame rejuvenated within me, I could dimly hear the sounds of battle as my stalwart companions defended me.
Finally after what seemed an eternity of slaughter, the true menace showed itself in the form of a Troglodyte. Now we knew what had galvanized the kobolds of this normally quiet area. As soon as the beast was slain, the battle ebbed, and we heard the kobold gibberish receding into the jungle. The heat and the sweat, the smell and taste of blood, the battered armor and notched weaponry, all attested to the ferocity of the contest. Fame & Fortune had stood the test and emerged victorious and battle hardened in a trial that will become legend….

Did we actually finish the Quickfoot Hideout quest, or did we all die and recall? Did we finish anything except the Kobold Assault quest on Thursday? I know we didn't finish STK. Not only am I lost, I can't remember anything, lol.

| Fame & Fortune Profile: Paullan McDarrin |
5/19/07 - 08:45 |
Paullan McDarrin's life began in a small, isolated farming community at the foot of the great mountains.Like is 2 fast friends, Garman the Halfling and Haraldo the Dwarf, Paullan childhood was shaped by the feeling of exclusion from the community. In Haraldo and Garmans case the exclusion was based on race, but for Paullan the mark of the Deity caused the estrangement. The three were inseperable, united by their isolation. They spent their childhood avoiding their chores and fleeing the wrath of the village children. The forests, and hidden passages of the village were their home, and here they filled their time with tales and games of adventure and danger, fame and fortune. Their unique talents complemented each other, Haralodo's skills of tracking and empathy for the wild, Garmans inate ability to remain unseen, find the hidden ways, and open any door, and Paullans ability to heal the bruises and cuts.
But then one fateful day danger became a reality. A marauding band of Orcs fell upon the village in the dark of night and burned it to the ground. None were spared and few escaped. Days later Paullan was found uninjured in the burned ruin of his families home by a unit of Paladins and Clerics in the service of the Holy Flame, who were pursuing the Orcs.
The Clerics recognized the mark of the Deity upon Paullan and took him to the Temple. There he was tested and accepted into the order. The acceptance and inclusion were welcomed by Paullan, for whom this was a new experience. Years passed in meditation and training. The strict regimen was a welcome relief from the memories that haunted him, for he assumed his two closest friends had perished.
When his training was complete, Paullan joined the Paladins on the frontier. Here is quest for vengeance was quickly quenched by the horror of war. Disillusioned he left the order to find his own way, to find fame and fortune. One fateful day a courier found him in a tavern, bearing a sealed scroll. The message bore the sign of Haraldo........
Within days Paullan had borded the ship for Stormreach, intent upon finding his friends and learning their stories. Little did he know that fate had finally placed his feet upon the path to FAME & FORTUNE...... |
| Fame & Fortune and the Destruction of Clan Tunnelworm |
5/14/07 - 06:23 |
...Having freed Arlos our attentions now turned to the Tunnelworm Clan, who it was reputed, held Arlos's brother Venn.. For this Fame & Fortune enlisted the aid of a warrior, Niceprice, a fierce fighter come to Stormreach to seek his own Fame and Fortune. Clan Tunnelworm fared no better than Clan Gnashtooth. They were far more adept in the use of traps though, and this nearly cost us our brother Garman. He was caught in the poison spray of one of these infernal machines as he attempted to disable it. In his weakened state the halfling was barely able to lift his weapons. Fortunately Niceprice remained steadfast and disciplined, shielding us at his own peril. Inspite of our weakened state we descended down a deep and forbidding shaft, intent on freeing Venn. Sadly, though we fought many battles, and slew many dangerous foes, we were too late. Venns body was found abandoned in a cell, a note clutched in his fingers hinted at a greater menace to come: Shan To Kar! What can this mean....
Our saddeness and sense of failure was tempered when we found Clan Tunnelworms torturer and slew him, avenging Venns dastardly murder.
We have done it... we have won the Harbor Masters good will and entrance into the Markets of Stormreach. And we have won Guard Tembers good will. And we have gained a new companion in Niceprice, whom we welcomed with a night of carousing at the Wayward Lobster. Fame and Fortune is on the rise.....
Only Shan To Kar lurks on the horizon of our awareness.... |
| Fame & Fortune & the Demise of Clan Gnashtooth |
5/14/07 - 06:23 |
........Our final assault on Clan Gnashtooth was a success. After interogating their chief, a cowardly beast and not worth killing, we descended to the kobolds dungeons, were Arlos was held. The desperate beasts attempted to block our progress with ambushes and traps, but to no availe. Their warriors and shamans were slaughtered and their vile blood ran in rivers over the rough stone floors of the water works. Only in the prisons themselves did the tables finally turn against the proud companions of Fame & Fortune. We were fighting a hand to claw combat against a group of shamans when I slipped and fell to the lower levels of the cell block. The fall slew me, injured as I was, immediately, and the crashing pain ripped my spirit from my broken body. Yet I did not slip away, recalled to sanctuary by a brother of the holy flame. I struggled to remain, knowing that my brothers in arms would be attempting to retrieve me to a shrine, and knowing that once they had, they would be in need of my divine aid. Indeed, no sooner had I fallen than that valiant dwarf Haraldo lept from the upper balcony into the midst of the kobold who had gathered to defile my body. He layed about him with his axe, felling the beasts like so much dry timber. In the midst of the fray we heard Garman cry out. He too had been slayn. Now things looked grim indeed for Fame and Fortune. Haraldo was injured, he would have to retrieve the soul stone of the halfling, and the way ahead frought with peril. My dis-corporeal self ran ahead of the Dwarf, vainly attempting to distract the gathering kobolds. As we rounded a bend we saw an iron gate, and beyond it a gathering mass of the evil creatures bent on entombing our band of brothers within these stone chambers. But Haraldo kept a cool head, I watched him quaff several potions, and then without hesitation turn the valve that opened the gate. As the kobold wave swept through the gateway with bloodcurdling howls, Haraldo lept high and over them. With out waiting he sped on, leaving the surprised beasts behind. His brave and intelligent actions saved the day, and the members of Fame and Fortune were re-united at a rest shrine.
Our strength gathered and our hunger for revenge inflamed, we fell upon the remaining kobold gaurd and slew them all, including their vile warden. Finally Arlos and the other prisoners were freed.......

Fortuneers:
It was a pleasure. Things went quite well, and I am looking forward to more fun in SR soon.
A few things:
Planning in advance – lets agree on a quest in advance by email – agree in advance on who to recruit (Fighter/Wizard/etc.) - first people in recruit so that when we are all in our party is ready
Purchasing in advance – By this I mean, first person in SR is in charge of purchasing an agreed quantity of potions, bolts, arrows, etc. to distribute to all party members before we start. This will require some banking of capital for Guild members (one of the perks of membership).
Recruits – Make sure recruits understand our stile of play, have voice enabled, and have potions before we start. Speak a common language.
Tactics – Rogue – scouting ahead is only part of the tactic, not the tactic itself. Scout ahead, but stay in range, warn of encounters and traps and come back to the party for spells and potions. Ranger – Like Rogue warn of animal encounters, range attack concentrate on Spellcasting enemies. Cleric – If we have fighters I will stay back with the Ranger to protect him while he uses ranged, heal, cast protection spells before combat, fight if needed. Fighters – these are the wall, kill, kill, kill.
Traps – If the Rogue can’t disable, use the potions. Before running through ask if anyone needs the right potion or has it if you need it. Tumbling through helps sometimes.
Before battles and after come to Cleric for healing and protection before moving on.
Finish all parts of Dungeon for max xp.
Shrining – make sure the cleric is with you for maximum healing. Use leftover shrines before going to next level, because we probably won’t be coming back.
I’m sure there is more…. I will send you guys a list of the abbreviations (afk, lol, wtf, etc.). I am also creating a profile on Gameamp to post messages, diary pages, screenshots, etc. for us, and guild members we don’t have email communication with. Yeah, I would like to take some screen shots of us together…am I getting too crazy? J
Paul
p.s. Diary will be updated this weekend. |
| The price..... |
5/14/07 - 09:45 |
….the supply ship from Eberron is overdue. This is not an uncommon occurrence. The Stormreach Sea is unpredictable, and of late, plagued by ever more bold pirates. This is just another sign of the collapse…..
But for the small band of Fame & Fortune, this is a severe blow. We had been joyously anticipating the arrival of our old friend Xwinger aboard this ship. It seems that Stormreach has claimed its first sacrifice of Fame & Fortune. A tax to the Gods….a reminder to those left behind that the price of Fame & Fortune must also be measured in blood…… |
| Fame & Fortune return to destroy the Gambling Den, again |
5/14/07 - 09:44 |
……..the events of our first quests together, it became obviouse that Garxon and I, by ourselves, would be overmatched by even the more mundane adversaries. I was surprised to discover how resilient our enemies in Stormreach are. Often we found that, having thought we had eradicated a particular threat, it respawned within days.
In any case, certain skills were in dire need. Garxon returned to whatever dark realm of thieves he came from to study the skills required to find what was hidden. We had discovered by observation several locations which seemed to hold hidden entrances, and triggers for traps, which we were unable to open and disarm. When he returned he had changed his name to Garman (I can only hope this does not mean that the Coin Lords will be out looking for someone named Garxon), and his skills had indeed improved. I too sought training in the combat arts, learning to use a greater variety of weapons and offensive maneuvers. The worth of this talent proved itself on the infamous Butchers Path, as dangerous as ever. We located several hidden doors we had previously passed over, and discovered the hidden lair of a Troglodyte shaman. These skills are just what Fame & Fortune needed.
We were also hired once again by Baudry to exterminate the Kobolds that continue, inspite of our best efforts, to return to his warehouses. He is becoming one of Fame & Fortunes best clients. As long as his gold is good we will continue to keep him happy, and the Kobolds unhappy and dead.
Then we returned to the gambling dens for Brother Augustas. The criminals had improved their defenses since our last attempt to uproot them. Their gaurds were better armed and armoured, and they unleashed a pack of ferocious curs upon us. While I dislike killing the animals, it was necessary, as they can be dangerous in large numbers. It is the animals trainers I blame, and slay without remorse.
Business has been good for Fame & Fortune, but the Harbor Masters seal upon the gates will soon begin constricting our options. We look forward to the return of Haraldo, and hopefully Xwinger the mage. It is time for our little company to break out of the Harbor. To do this we must gain the favor of the Harbor Master, and that means returning to the water works to finish the job Haraldo and I have started. It will not be an easy task, I have heard many rumors of the fierce Kobold clans that have fortified the sewars beneath the city. But I am confident that the fully assembled company of Fame & Fortune will prevail…. |
| The Cerulean Hills |
5/14/07 - 09:43 |
…………then Garxon, my old friend, arrived in Stormreach, drawn by tales of Fame & Fortune. I had received a commission from Lesto, another frequent patron of the Wayward Lobster, to retrieve an object that was stirring up the Kobolds in a particular warehouse. Apparently this thing is called the Eye of some dark Kobold god, but according to Lesto its just glass….
The idea was to steal it before it caused any trouble. But we also had to avoid killing too many of the Kobold Prophets, or that would start a whole different kind of trouble. Well, we tried, and maybe without the clumsy, drunken Cleric Garxon could have done it. He has turned out to be quite the sneaker and assassin, that one. I would never have thought it, back in our youth.
Then we heard that there might be some gold to be had in the Cerulean Hills, outside the city walls. The situation out beyond the city walls is even worse than within. The landscape was teeming with infernal creatures. We slew many. Bugbears, wolves, skeletons, and even orcs fell before our onslaught. But alas, while we may have learned how to work effectively together, little gold was found. This surely is an area that we must visit with Haraldo the Ranger.
The signs in the Cerulean Hills are grim. Abandoned farms and vineyards, destroyed merchant Caravans, and Orc out posts right before the walls of Stormreach testify to the collapse of the empire. I can only hope that these are bountiful times for the members of Fame & Fortune, and not the precursor to the fall of Stormreach….
The Hill are beautiful though. Even amidst the danger and slaughter we found time to admire the twin orbs of Eberrons moons rising into the night sky. And every where the landscape was dotted with colorful columns of butterflys, appearing like the petals of flowers falling from heaven…. |
| Fame & Fortunes first steady account |
5/14/07 - 09:42 |
……… well it seems that Haraldo and I have underestimated the challenges of this city. It is overrun with kobolds and other vermin, and I suspect that the major houses are implicitly involved in the smuggling that goes on here. I don’t know how far the criminal, monster and official elements are intertwined, we will have to be careful.
Keeping enough gold in our coffers to maintain our life style at the Wayward Lobster is a challenge. Though we managed to do some work for Baudry we are beginning to find our limitations. Haraldo has turned into a magnificent Archer, and my healing skills are improving, but we don’t have the skill to find and disarm traps or find secret doors, and neither of us is able to pick a lock. We also find that our most dangerous adversaries are the kobold Shamans and other magic users as we have not way to counter their evil spells….
Haraldo has returned to Eberron to find Xwinger and Garxon, in the hope of enlisting them in our efforts to find fame and fortune here in Stormreach. I haven’t heard from them in years, since I entered the Holy Order, but he tells me Xwinger has become an able Mage and Garxon…well, lets just say he has learned other skills which will come in handy.
In the mean time I am trying to learn the political hierarchy of Stormreach, scout out potential sources of income, and establish an official presence which will provide our enterprise legitimacy. The last one at least I have accomplished. I have founded, and registered, an Adventurers Guild. It is named quite aptly “Fame & Fortune”. As a small reward for its initial members I have collected a few minor magical artifacts. Hopefully this will help our recruiting efforts.
Well, I am off to the Wayward Lobster to have some hearty stew and a few pitchers of ale…… |
| Fame & Fortunes first encounter with Clan Gnashtooth |
5/14/07 - 09:41 |
Excerpt from the Diary of Paullan McDarrin…..
Finally, after many travels we met again. Haraldo looks much the same but the years have toughened him and honed his instinctive understanding of the signs around us. The years and languages we had learned at first passed a veil between us, but we soon broke through this final barrier.
The first order of business was of course to sort out our equipment in anticipation of the challenges Stormreach would face us with. We have come to find fortune and fame in this far corner of Eberron. We will do this in the only way we know, by braving the unknown to accomplish legendary feats and wrest the fortune from those who gain it unjustly.
Soon we were on our way to the water. On the journey to Stormreach I had received information of a lost tome sought by one of the powerful houses of Stormreach. After a short swim we reached the small island and the tower where the book was said to be kept. We entered under the pretense of being researchers, and thought we were being smart. But how we ever thought anyone would believe us is beyond. As it turned out the keeper was not fooled and we soon found ourselves in a maze of traps, tricks, and undead filth. Fortunately the magical traps, while spectacular (especially the lightning) were not extremely effective. The undead warriors were another story. As a cleric of rightouesness I cannot suffer these foul beings to exist, and so we vanquished them utterly, and were finally able to escape. I trust that House Deneith will remember our service…..
The taste of success fresh in our mouths, Haraldo and I sought new challenges that very day! It was as if we were transported back to the days of our youth, when we played at hunting kobolds and Dragons. But we were soon to find out our optimism had exceeded our skill…..
Rumors abound that the kobold clans of Stormreach have taken over the sewers, and so in order to gain favor from the Harbor Master and gain entry to the city itself (and hopefully its lucrative patrons) we proceeded to the Waterworks. We quickly learned that not only had the Kobolds overrun the sewers, but two children were missing within.
Haraldo and I ventured deeply into the sewers were we met Guard Tember who gave us new clues about the whereabouts of the missing children. The path was hazardous and the Kobolds numerous. I learned that my good friend has become an excellent archer, slaying many of the vermin from a distance. But as we ventured deeper our situation became perilous. After being felled by a Kobold Shaman in an attempt to attack him with my crossbow, it looked as if we might meet an untimely end far below the city. But to my amazement, not only was Haraldo able to slay the Shaman, he also revived me and I was able to regain some strength. Now we were forced to flee, and a mad dash for daylight began. We raced through the sewers, evading the kobold patrols that swarmed the tunnels, stirred up like a beehive after our brazen assault, and finally burst into the sweet air of the harbor.
Undeterred by our narrow escape, we attacked again. We slew many kobolds that day, and even managed to interrogate their chief, cowardly beast, but were unable to prevail. In the end the hordes of Kobolds were to strong, and in a weakened state I was surprised by a fiery trap and slain outright. Fortunately the agony was brief, and I had made arrangements to be resurrected in the Harbor.
Now, having had time to consider the events of this defeat I have some thoughts to offer. It seems imperative that we gain more experience and skill before attempting another assault on the kobolds. Secondly, We need to consider our tactics prior to rushing into action. I say this mainly because I have several divine powers granted to me that can aid my brothers in arms in battle. Third, we need additional talent in our ventures and I will propose to Haraldo that we recruit a magic user, as our most dangerous encounters have been with evil sorcery.
