i ve just reinstalled windows a couple of days ago and now i can not patch bf2 i was wondering if anyone could help me
it comes up with a patching failed error
ive reinstalled bf2 a few times now
thx in advance
ive dled the patch like 5 times and it comes up with the same error everytime

ive been getting the same error
i cant update to NONE of the pathces ever since i reinstalled windows.. ive been without bf2 for like 3 months now!!!!! =[[[[
wen i try to update to bf2 1.22 it says renddx9.dll doesnt match the file in the .cab systems file.
idk wtf to do!!!
i try to install 1.3 still wont instal
i reinstalled bf2 so many times and tried nothing happends =[

yes.
i jsut reinstalled windows AGAIN. i installed bf2 and special forces, updated to 1.1 patch fine, now i try to update to 1.22, it says the file renddx9.dll doesnt match the file in the system, u may have a corrupt blah blah blah, thats bs cuz i installed 1.22 fine beofre now its doing this. and i try to install 1.3 it jsut gives me an error that the install shield wont launch................... im very aggervated and have the urge to play BF2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you are using 1.3 FULL patch, not incremental, then you don't need all the previous patches.
Remove BF2 with windows un-intaller, then do a search for any BF2 files or folders and remove them.
Then install BF2 and just the 1.3 FULL patch.

see my problem WAS that, i could not patch to any patches that were out, i couldnt patch to 1.22 at the time and so i heard the new patch 1.3 came out so i went to update to one of those and it sill wouldnt work, neither did the other patches....
BUT i FINALLY got it to patch last night, it was my hard drive, its no good, i traded it with the one in my mothers comp.... psh!!!

she dont use the damn thing anyways, thanks for your help anyways man, thats bad ass how u can do car drop off's,

problem solved!!!!
hey all i play as [TXC]Reaper on BF2 and i had 2 format my HDD the other day but when i tryed 2 put BF2 back on it would get 2 about 2% then come up with PATCHING FAILED!!!!
i was so pissed off....
first of all remove all BF2 files that includes the reg files you can do this by REGCURE after unistalling the game
also remove BF2 from My Documents
if you dont want to use regcure u can do these steps:
start , run , type regedit
after that you should see HKEYS_LOCAL_MACHINE click on the +
then click on the + of software
then go down to DICE
there should be all the BF2's you should have the register files in there
Delete any of the BF2 files in there after that go back and find Electronic Arts delete the entire folder UNLESS U HAVE GOT OTHER GAMES FROM EA DONT DELETE THE FILE!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY DELETE THE BF2 FILES!!!!!!!!!!
after this restart your computer into SAFE MODE!
then install the game as you normaly would and it should install the patch just fine.

ps: regcure requires a serial key and may cause other files that are needed by the OS to not run properly...
