okay heres the thing, im not new to the multi player fps but the space combat is well.... hard as HELL! can some 1 like give me some tips or better yet tell me the controls 2 the ship? please im begging u!!!!

If you are playing the single player then there is a sort of space fighter mission. the controls are the same as any vehicle. Now I have not seen many space fighter combat on multi-player servers but you can ask in game or play the level in single player and learn controls.
I went through the entire single player and played all the maps that came with it and downloaded the bonus packs. I am still new at ut2004 myself but you learn preety quick.
wasd, left click, right click

The spaceship can either be viewed 1st or 2nd view. To toggle, press F4.
W- booster-it does not feel it, but this makes the ship travel extremely fast and is handy if you are being shot at.
A-left
S- Slow down
D-Right
Spacabar- Roll- you may feel dizzy if you use this too often to start off with!
Fire- Lasers
Alt Fire- Homing missile. The green line coming from the spaceship indicates an enemy and is highlighted with a small box. Shoot the homing missile and it will follow the enemy. It takes a while to power up again so should be used sparingly.

When you see a square box flying around; it's your ships computer targetting an enemy. Your homing missiles will often miss if you don't keep your crosshairs as close as possible to the center of the box while your missiles are in the air. ASMothership is a really hard level.
