Top 5 MMORPG lists

I am curious to know what everyone thinks are the top 5 MMOs. Here's mine:

1. World of Warcraft. I do not like WoW but I am trying to make my list as unbiased as possible. This game has more subscribers and makes more money than any MMO in gaming history. But, the storyline and player participation in this game are nearly nonexistent and may be overcome by other games in the near future. Guild Wars is a good candidate.

2. Guild Wars. This game is of excellent quality, has fast-paced PvE and PvP, is well-balanced, and inexpensive. The developers also take care of this game a lot so there are frequent expansions and updates. Unfortunately, this game does not nearly have the fanbase that WoW has.

3. City of Heroes/Villains. This game has an excellent standard for visual and gaming quality. The gameplay is simple enough for casual gamers and enough depth and quick PvP for hardcore gamers. However, game becomes tediously repetitive in the mid-levels and does not have the fanbase that Guild Wars has. Most notably in both City of Villains/Heroes and Guild Wars is that the storylines are actually intellectually interesting and so are enjoyable to follow.

4. Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar. This game is rising in the ranks as an MMO; it became the #1 seller in North America recently and is renown for its superior visual quality and appealing gameplay and action. Its depth and story accuracy are good and so appeal to regular gamers and LotR fans who, after reading the book, wish to experience the locations. Many locations in the book exist, such as the beautiful Shire, but many important locations, such as Mordor, Minas Tirith and Rohan, are still being developed. As I alluded to before, the accuracy of the game is such that you can actually visit places like Bag End and have a conversation with Dwalin about the Battle of Five Armies.

5. Final Fantasy XI - This game is well rounded with good subscriber numbers, quality story, and great gameplay.

RE: Top 5 MMORPG lists

Most people who don't play WoW hate it. It's like the America of gaming ;)

Nice post though
