I really like playing as a brute, but I've never found a combo that really interests me.
Any suggestions?

Depends on what your likings are, if its a herder/tanker kinda thing ild suggest SS/WP or Elec/WP, if its a farmer i would go with SS/fire, Elec/stone or elec/elec, for a stalkerish spide damage type of build either SS,SM,orE M/Fire, for a damage sponge a supreme build is DM/Stone Armor, one of my personal favorites, but tell us a lil more specifically what your "likings" are

I want a build that does a good amount of damage while still having a high survivability rate.

stone/stone. no other set builds fury faster than stone melee. it has good recharge and good base damage overall. stone armor is hands down the most "survivable" of all the armors-but it's real slow in the later levels. a good medium i found is super strength or stone melee with electric or willpower armors. give 'em a try, i doubt you'll be dissapointed with the latter combo.

Hmm, I'm trying Energy/Stone right now.
It's fun so far.

Stone pre-granite is decent enough, nothing particularly special except for the slows, i personally prefer to not use single target sets like EM with stone as when your in granite it has a damage penalty making the damage, which is EMs migitation, worse, i personally prefer either SS/Elec/or DM for stone

i say to try elec/stone. stone will survive anything after granite, and therefore, build fury. meanwhile elec/ has 4 attacks that deal dmg to multiple foes. with thunderstrike, lightning rod, chain induction, and jaccobs ladder, you will destory mobs in no time. make sure to grab fighting and rooted, and you most likely wont see your health ever drop below green

Stone/Elec does sound fun, however I'm not sure if I'll be patient to play all the way up to 38 just to make a fun character. I'll try it though.
