What about the combination Elementalist/Mesmer?
Then you could put hexes on people and do mayor damage with your elementalist skills at the same time!
or is there something that terribly sucks about this combination?

no not really, my main account is a e/me! i think its great, thers a move you can get in mesmer that allows you to copy a move for 20 secs which is very handy for the long recharging elemantilist moves that do really high damamge. thus you can do the move twice causing lots of damamge. i also use the moves that help you dodge attacks (sorry for the lack of not knowing spells)

There are 2 mesmer echo skills that you can get that act the same for the most part. One is elite that you can capture once you get to the Fire Islands on the map. The other can be bought from the vender at Droknar's Forge.

e/me is a good combo i had one and it dominated greatly in pvp so ya e/me is good the skills also help the knockdown spells could be helpful during some battling but it will do greatly for a e/me if ur fire or air or water more interruption to the foe.

I got one of those as well, though hes not that far yet (just before desert). I was planning to use it as a Mesmer in disguise ^^.

My first character was an E/Me, and I love her. She's pretty much all nuke, with arcane mimicry to use a team member's elite, giving you the ability to have 2 elites. The elite I use is glyph of energy, they I can use all the heavy damage fire skills (meteor shower, searing heat, etc.) for cheap energy cost and no exhaustion. Then I add in phoenix, firestorm, fireball, immolation, whatever recharges quickly. This way I can continually be casting high damage fire spells without running out of energy. It's a great nuker build.
The Arcane Mimicry is nice if there's another Ele with maybe Mind Burn or something like that. You can do some HEAVY damage quickly. I was with one group that bunched up about 10 enemies in FoW, and they all died within seconds. It's soooo much fun to see all those -XX numbers above enemies!!!
The problem with trying to hex and nuke at the same time is that you have to spread your attribute points too much, and you end up being mediocre in both categories. The good thing about mimicry is that is works the same way regardless of mesmer stats.
