Is there a way to have the indicator for a new post, as you see it in the individual forums, put on the main category list? Currently if I don't quite remember the date/time that I read the last post I have to open up all the categories to see if anything new has been posted.

If at first you don't succeed, rez rinse repeat.

Unfortunately as my knowledge would go no, if you are viewing the forums as individual the only thing you can see is the latest date/time post (w/ the who). I just check out the General Discussion for that is the major posting spot.
The only thing you can do is hope you remember if you read that post or not. I think it would be cool to have some sort of lighting/shading effect to indicate new post, old post, unread post...or such. Maybe in the future but as of now I believe no way to change.

Yeah, or like a "view new posts since last visit" sorta thing. I've mentioned it to NoGame and TheShaman before but they're really busy guys with a lot on their plates. :)

I spoke with the necessary bodies on this and was advised to implement such a featiure would cause issues with speed/loading of the site. A major lag problem would/could occur and that just leads to frustrations. So as of this moment the current system will be the M.O. for the site.

We've gotcha covered! Right now we're working on releasing over 10 new sites to the network so we're a bit crazy :) We will definitely be adding more functionality in the future to both the forums and over all so stay tuned and thanks for the suggestion!
