Disgusting conduct on ranked servers

I've been around the MFPS scene for a while now but I've never seen more nasty behavior than on ranked BF2 servers. Totally gratuitous verbal abuse, constant kick votes for no discernible reason, constant mutiny votes, viscious squabbles over trivial matters, and a total disregard for the team and squad-based features of the game.

Besides just bitching, I'd welcome advice and offers from other players who would like to join or know about servers or clubs (or "clans" thought I HATE that term), where there's civility, friendliness, and a strategic team-based orientation rather than rampant mayhem and point harvesting.

Please write or post if you are interested in this issue or can steer me to people or groups who value a better BF2 experience.

don't forget the people who force you to TK them by standing on top of your vehicle.

or the people who take vehicles and immediately drive/fly off without either waiting for teammates to get in or even to look and see if one of them is in front of them before they run them over...

and the players who don't bother to join squads and get themselves killed 30,000 times so your team loses all of it's tickets in 5 minutes. (if you guys didn't know, your tickets are your remaining respawns for the team, every time you die, your team loses a ticket)

BF2 is a wonderful game (with a few bugs) that is infested with people who think it's like military style grand theft auto.

you are quite right, the best way to avoid it all is to join a clan and play against other clans. (btw, why don't you like the term "clan"?) and when you're not playing leagues/skirmishes (that's the correct spelling, people, not scrimmage/scrim (the term that I hate...) then you can at least get a squad who knows what they're doing and actually USE microphones! one good squad can make the difference between winning/losing in public servers.

if you're looking for a clan, you can check out the one i just hooked up with a few weeks ago at www.nightopsclan.com. they're a BF1942 clan that got into BF2 when it came out. they're pretty good.

i'm trying to build an alliance of BF2-playing clans so i can get 32-64 player skirmishes going. after all, nobody has a clan that can muster up 16 people to play a 32 player game, let alone 32 to play a 64 player game.

hey im interseted, but im not the clan leader and ill have to talk with them to see what they say.....You guys dont punish for mines artiliry or being ran over by accident do u? I doubt you do cuase you sound cool enough but just checking...but yeah ill see what i can do cuase i am tired of playing with idoits that dont take the time to see what happend or an explanation before punishing people....so if you have a way for me to contact u im in.

well i mentioned it to my clan leader and the others, and he said to make sure i explain that we are a small clan from AVP2 and just have recently moved to BF2, and that we pick our members soley on attituides and game play, regardless of skill with the game because skill can always come later, but a good attitude cant, at least not right off the bat, and we just play for fun and not to win or keep track of wins,and in avp2 we mainly just tested mods and maps for people and never play agianst other clans for wins, and if we play with other clans its because they have the same principles as we do and they dont care about winning or losing, just there to have fun.

So if your clan is similar in they ways we are we would be glad to ally with u and play some battlefield.

i can't speak for my clan, either.

personally, i do take my games very seriously, and i get really frustrated by two things: exploits/cheats, and incompetent teammates.

i don't mind incompetent enemies cuz i can always kill them. but when somebody jumps in my chopper and doesn't use the TV missles or the gun at all, i get really pissed off.

as far as taking skirmishes seriously goes, i don't. it's just a skirmish. league play is a different story.

i don't think Night Ops can muster up an 8 man BF2 team right now. as far as i know only about 6 of us have BF2. the clan was mainly rooted in BF1942. like i said, drop us a line at www.nightopsclan.com and talk to RL, he's the clan leader.

here's my favorite, the people who kick vote the top commanders because the x2 multiplier for winning threatens their lead.

or the one that happened again today, leading a server with 40pts over the next person, our commander get's kicked, so i apply, am accepted, and i order an arty fire on an enemy base. The clan present forms a squad to run into the arty fire, effectively forcing me to tk 5 players, all of them PTk'ing, and then banning me on the account of tk'ing. Worst yet, i didnt even get the gold medal :-\

This server has some good teamplay.... that is when people are on it. The admins are usually playing and the enforce rule governing that things outlined above 66.135.41.139:16567

Ranked servers are noob centeral. Given that most (GOOD) leagues run stock settings at 8x8, or 12x12 (rarely), you won't find the better players on public ranked servers.

My advice, stay away from them. Get on IRC, get in some PUG matches (most fun you will ever have), and avoid the public idiocy that most games spawn. If you do this you will love the game on an entirely new level.

If you are looking for QUALITY teams go to #ggl on irc.enterthegame.com and hit up a BF2 admin for a list of IRC channels to get your game on.

I know what you gays are saying. Didn't read every posts, but i can tell you this. I just hate going to a server where they kick vote constantly. Where they swear and bitch at each others and stuff. Where a tk is a common thing.

I now have my own clan server and i enforce the rules. No bad language, racial crap or discrimination,, no tk's, no votes, bla, bla, bla. People don't care then i kick them out personally (or ban in some cases) I set the rules and it's fun to play BF2 that way. Lots of people come back just because of that.

join us over at moders, we need players, there is no vote kick, we have admins around most of the time, either on teamspeak, in game or through a shout in the shout box on or forums. adult community free teamspeak.

there is no voting. nor tk punish, its set to auto. we do not put up with kid type actions, having been playing bf2 since before the demo, i too can not stand the arse's in game.

Have you guys ever met anyone from the [God] squad? those guys are beasts! their funny and fun too. They are pretty crazy good too.
