I'm torn between upgrading my vid card or buying more ram. Currently specs are as follows;
p4 3ghz
1gb 3700 400mhz DDR ram
Radeon x300 128mb card
the rest isn't really important here.
The game runs with a decent frame rate on med-high visual settings, but if I realy want to improve frame rate should I upgrade my card or get some more ram? I'm not aiming to run the game on all high settings, as it looks great on med high with 4x aa, but I really want a better framerate.
Card or ram?

Definitely better card. But I guess that depends on your budget. Lets say you chose card. How much are you willing to spend on card?
If you are going to get card I would save money till you could get either x800xl or 6800gt. DDR3ram,256mb,256bit
If you go with x800xl I would go for the connect3d 3028b at newegg.com

The cool thing about this card is it is THE SAME EXACT, TO THE T card as ATI RADEON brand version. And go for the OEM because you still get the cords and adapter and stuff, just not the CD's. You should always use drivers from the website anyway.
Connect3d is ATI's sister company in Europe and often (like in this case) there product is the same exact make and sometimes same factory floor.

Thanks for the link, that card looks great, especially the price! Only problem is that I live in Canada, and they don't ship here! I think I'll have to choose bewteewn the 6800 and x800, but they're fairly pricey...like $500 pricey lol. Out of the two though, which one might be a better buy, performance and price wise? Or, are there any other 256 mb cards in the same performance range for a lower price? (thats alot to ask for, but I can dream!)

Above are three cards that represent the lowest in performance that I would choose if I were going to purchase a new card. The 6800gt does only slightly better than x800xl in most games and equal in some games. In bf 2 they are bout the same for all practical purposes. I have looked at a number of benchmarks and the x800xl is hands down the best price/performance card on the market right now. What you want to look for and make sure you are getting in a new card is the following:
DDR3 Mem
256mb mem
256bit mem interf.
16 pipes
If it doesnt say 16 pipes i wouldnt get it. Now there are cheaper 8 pipe cards that can play bf2 well but if you want the lowest costing cards for maxed out performance the x800xl and the 6800gt are the lowest i would go.
