| Duplicate key common control |

My setup make it impossible to use WASD configuration.
I´ve been flying a lot in BF 1942 and Vietnam and have the mouse to the rightand and a small numeric keyboard to the left. Betwen my legs I have a joystick and over my head I have the normal keybord.
This setup is perfect for flying.
I tried the BF2 demo and noticed that it´s impossible to use the numeric keys. I even tried to edit the profile file 0001 without succes. Is it the same proplem with the full version? Is there a fix fore it?
Please help.

I'm having this problem also. I can set all my control keys but when I get to the boat, I can't use my up/down arrows. It's duplicating. I can't do anything about it because those keys are being used for my land vehicles.
I think this is goofy as hell and very inconvenient. Thank gawd I have a joystick, pedals, and throttle for flying, otherwise I'd be screwed on keys.
I've been playing BF2 for only a couple of weeks and I'm still trying to figure things out. If you find out anything, let me know.LOL

Ok, in my case, I screwed up. I didn't see that the up/down arrows were already being used as open/on and close/off for the boat. Make sure that the keys you're looking to remap aren't being used within the same category.

The arrow keys i no problem the numeric is. I cant find that the numeric keys are used for anything. Exept Numeric 0 that is used for alt fire.
I also found out that I cant use the roll on the mouse to select weapon. I can press it to reload but dont scroll to select weapon.
This is frustrating.
Help someone.

I´ve got a mail from EA´s swedish support and got an answer from a CS Agent today.
"We have not been able to solve this problem due to some problem with the code. We dont have any indications to day that we will solve it.
Thanks for that. That saved me som money. If you are in the same situation as me don´t buy the d.. thing.

Sorry to tell you this, but the numeric keys are used in ALL the area settings.
Look in the left hand column for all the setups….Common/Land/Air/heli and Boat.
The Numeric keys (1,2,3,4,5..etc) are mapped for all the Weapons selection. These need to be erased or remapped before you can map them for anything else. All you have to do is get in the game and start pressing 1 2 3 4 5 and see what happens.

Sorry to tell you but your not right.
The numeric keys are the one placed to the right on your keyboard. Press one and see what happens. Yeap thats right, nothing happens.
The keys you are talking about are the one placed over QWERTY and thats not the numeric keys.

I re-read your original post and found that you are 60% wrong. You seem to have left out the Fact that the Numeric pad CAN be mapped but just not the 2,4,6,8. That would not make it IMPOSSIBLE but just limited. Why this is I don’t know as there are other keys that have the same issue. I tried to find the reason for this but have not yet found out why it is this way. Out of curiosity, I am still looking but my help for you is done.

Remapp the keyboard.
You will find a lot of software that can help you with this.
