And God Said, "lets Save our money"

Alright, I'm sick of Newbs complaining that they dont have enough money to buy new armor, weapons, or whatever. and there spamming,"will anyone spear me 41 plat for my 15 k armor. The answer is No, basicly NoOne will ever give you money, so im writing ways to learning how to make the big bucks.

Firstly SAVE UP, to make it seems money to buy a max dmg weapon. Just go outside on Drok Forge and kill stuff, or go in the undwerworld/fissure, or whatever, and loot them, buying a max dmg weapon is pointless.

Moving Along, Never EVER EVER sell crappy items, YOUR WASTING YOUR TIME, no ones gonna pay like 10 gold for a Starter Rod, I'v seen so many people in ascolon trying to sell the worst ever items, that arent even worth 1 gold.

Next, Insted of doing missions, take a day out of your life, and farm. Farming is the key to greater expectations. People get the word farming mixed up, farmnig isnt always finding gold...farming is finding dyes, collector items, weapons, Material, and sometimes gold. Save all your reasources because ilater along, your gonna need them.

Sell Comman items to merchants, not Players. Selling items to merchants is soo much faster, you mine as well sell a max dmg bow to the merchant and get 50 gold rather than wasting 2 hours trying to sell it in Lions arch for 100 gold. Time=money, if you got no time, you got no money. Just make sure you dont sell any godley items to merchant(ugh acciendly sold ectoplasm to him :P)

And Lastly, SAVE YOUR MONEY, just because items are in demmand, doesnt mean you have to get it. Try saving your money, insted of spending it, because you only mainly need 2 things in this game: armor and a godley weapon. Wasting your mnoey to buy a dragon sword is just silly.

Anywhoos just follow these key guides and you'll be rich, it may take awhile, but you'll be rich,

Please rate this, and feel free to write back...

thanks

Re: And God Said,

Just a couple of side notes, dont sell stuff for 3k to noobs, that's not even ethical,

Am not sure what you mean by 20 20 30 30 staff, but ok,

and farming on missions, in lots of areas I have seen as very good as well,

but I have seen an awful lot of impatience.... the wanting to immediately 'lvl up'. Why? Play the game. Each area of the 'world' will give you enough challenges for your level. Stop getting people to run you to Draknar's as a level 5. So you do get good armor, a godly weapon, then what? you go back to ascalon and try to kill everything on the map?

Learn the use of crafting. Salvage most everything, preferably with an expert salvage kit...

take the wood planks, add gold, and you can craft parchment, parchment can be sold to the rare mat's trader for as much as 100/roll, a profit of 80g/roll. I had over 300 wood planks last night, converted them for 1.3 plat, sold for a total for around 9 plat @ 80/roll... glittering dust... use it to make vellum, sell it the same way... hold these items till you get the price you want, I have held parchment for several weeks, not selling at 50 or 55 a roll. Again, patience is a virtue.

Find out what crafts for what... basically it boils down to earn a living, play the game, enjoy... Dont rob yourself of the experience of having a living character in a changing economy. And for those of you out there who dont, play the game ethically, just because you can find a sucker, stop trying to take advantage of it...

Re: And God Said,

hmmmm? huh, dude u make no sence, and also, if a person wants to kinda get the best armor in the game, then kill everything in asclon, let them do it, there hurting themself, by basicly wasting there money, and ruining the game, i rushed my last char which is a level 2 mz to drok just for giggles...lol...i pwn in asclon arena. But, yes i do agree how ppl should play the game, and dont skip any parts.

Re: And God Said,

ok I agree with the guy that said don't take advantage of people who don't know any better. And just because you don't understand him doesn't mean he doesn't make sense. What he means is this:

If you are a low level, don't go crying to the high level guys for droknar's armor. I don't know how you can afford it at such a low level anyway. And when selling things, don't cheat people by selling them for more than you yourself would pay for them.

And as for running, there's something not quite right about it. I mean, you're basically buying the game so that you can find an excuse to avoid playing most of it? That's just weird! I'm glad ANet prevented that with Ascension. Not only do you rip yourself off when you run, both in and out of game, you also ruin the game for people who earned their place in the game. You're sitting there going "iz their some1 who can hold my hnad whil i run" and you're this puny little lvl 10 or something in thunderhead keep while everybody else is 20 and trying to have a good time.

Re: And God Said,

The one problem with salvaging everything (only with low level stuff) is the cost of a salvage kit...

I mean every time you salvage something its costing you 400/25 g...16g. So you are right throughout most of the game salvaging all those el crapola weapons for crafting equipment will benefit you big time, but for one plank of wood or 20g from a trader for some rubbish bow or something, I'd go for the trader.

Ramble ramble...

Ha! LOL I had the PRE SEARING ARMOR until the desert missions. I'm not kidding I was level 16 with pre searing armor. It was sad. So I bought Droknar's Armor with the MONEY I SAVED UP. :)

Re: And God Said,

I found a good way to get money, but it is probably common knowledge right now.

First, you get 2 salvage kits, a regular and an expert. Just salvage everything you get, but only use the expert on salvage, blue, purple, or gold items.

Some people might tell you not to use the expert on salvage items or blue items, but i have found that you can get some rare materials out of those items, even if you are still in the beginning of the game.

Actually, you're making a lot of sense. It's funny that someone with the some of the worst spelling and grammar skills I've ever seen is telling someone else they don't make "sence." The original post is somewhat true (in a common sense kind of way), but effectively utilizing the potential of salvaged materials/salvage kits, deciding what to sell to traders and what to sell to players, and generally spending some time planning resource use are how you make money. Beyond that, you just have to put a good amount of time into finding buyers for your items that are worth selling (which I hate).

I'm getting really sick of people whining about needing runners everywhere too. Just play the game. Isn't that what you have it for? I mean, if you just want to be done without playing I'll sell you my account with 3 ascended level 20 characters. You won't have to play at all!

Don't rip off newbs! It's just a game -- to have fun! Is it really worth being mean to people?

Re: And God Said,

just a little story i thought id share since there is kind of a anti running sentiment going around this thread

i once talked to the person who holds the record for lowest level beatin the game (it was level 7 if your curious) all she basically said was that she had saved up on her first three chars. somewhere around 100+k got run to drok. had a friend run her to thk then payd people off in ring of fire to let her in there group

so the point *and morale* of the story is... there is no point in fake money :P

Re: And God Said,

Making money is always a question that people will be asking how to. Its not too hard if your smart, its actually quite easy if you know where to go and how to do it. Farming is the best thing you can do - I farm the Gates of Kryta mission solo with my nuker, I've made over 50k off of it in 3-4 days. Sometimes it gets boring but if you want money then you need to scarifice time to get it.

I feel like an old retired person now, I made a ton of money - bought armor and Godly weapons and now I stopped farming and only do PvP.

Re: And God Said,

On my 2nd day of farming, I went from 2k on the first day, to 12k. I COULD get a lot more, but I'm not a farmer-every-single-minute. And in the process, I got 2 rare bows from killing stuff, and a lot of purple items and shields. Farming IS the way to go.

Hehe. The only point I was trying to make is:
Do you have the game to have fun playing, or for the bragging rights on saying you have a character who finished the game? For me, gaming is about the journey -- not the destination.

Re: And God Said,

The first post is exactly right, I am a lvl20 E/N (along time ago) should be considered lvl 24. Anyway, I've done alot of farming and picked up alot of stuff including a Rune of Superior Vigor which I sold for 38,000 gold.

Collect, Salvage, Save. It works!!!

Re: And God Said,

I have no quarrel with people who get run to Droknar for the armor there. It's their loss imo. If you want to play the game for bragging rights, by all means do so, that's what my ignore list is for :-)
I do despise the people who then go into the lower level Arena's to slaughter people who play the game the way it's ment to be played. That's screwing with other people's playing pleassure.

Re: And God Said,

Rated and now replying:

Due to the following reasons:

- You had your good points
- You tried to help (not saying you failed)
- This is your second 'good' thread in a row I'm reading now
- You seem to know your stuff

... I should've rated your post, and all the rest of your posts, with a 5!

But due to the sole reason that you ASKED to get rated, I kinda get the impression you're just doing this for the ratings. Which nullifies all the good points.

Doing something good is, in my eyes, not good if you're expecting to be credited for it. Rewards shouldn't be asked for, but deserved.

But that's just me, and each to his own.

Re: And God Said,

+5 for UCCAT. Good info on crafting. NOGAME>>>You wanted something to do a guide for....how 'bout some crafting tips, what to use how to use it etc. Anyway, I have used runners and see no problem with it. I first try to get a group, to go with me. If that doesn't work I'll try Henchies (several times) and if that doesn't work and a guildmember isnt available, I'll plop the 500g or whatever for a runner. Fact is, I want the next mission and/or town so I can play the game. Not everyone is on their 1st char. Running is an honest profession. You have the knowledge and skill and put it to use. No different than selling items in the towns.

Re: And God Said,

Firstly, i have 2 characters who have got to droknars the "normal" way, and i have 2 characters who i have paid to be run to droknars. I save money on crafting materials and buying new armour by running to droknars. But that is my descision. My latest character. I ran most of the way to beacons perch and got to droknars missing most of the missions. I have not picked up a singal quest on the way because i am going to do them all properly in the right order. I just want to do it with droknars armour, because i can, because this is fun for me.

I will most certainly not go into the Ascalon arena, with my level 10 necro/warrior with droknars armour. This is not fair as has been said, it is also punishable by suspension (i think).

As for making money.. easy..dont spend gold on stuff you dont need.

Re: And God Said,

I got a free run to Droknar's with my first character. Then I left and continued on with the game. I didn't buy the armor or farm or anything, I just wanted it on my map. Other than that, I plan on getting all of my other character there the normal way. I was just curious as to where it was. I play the game for the game, and to explore, I haven't ever done any PvP (except for the forced PvP in the Ascalon Academy Mission).

Re: And God Said,

I was simply poor, until i sold a few 'godly' weapons. But you don't have to be. Don't buy new armour every time you come across a seller.

I mean is there point wasting time/money on the crafting items + the actual gold to go gain +5 armour on your outfit? Simply it doesn't make that big a difference. I'd even reccomend using old ascalon armour until you desperaly need to change, hell i did. (Not reccomended for warriors though)

Re: And God Said,

Arena Net actually built a runnable way to the Forge on purpose to add that element to the player driven economy. It's not for me, but I think it's cool that it's there. Wait, scratch that last comment, that means that in post-ascension levels you can run into characters who don't have the skill to ascend... but that problem exists because of EBay anyways. However, I don't reccomend it for your first PvE char. Use the extra money form your other PvE's that you've beaten the game with to buy running and good weapons if you wish.

I have 3 PvE players... the first two I played normally, the third (W/R) I ran ahead to get better gear and finish things early. Two times through is enough for me, but i want all skills unlocked for PvP, and this seemed like a faster way to do so. I have my own issues with "unlocking" discussed on another thread. But I ran myself, and it proved to be a fun new challenge (ran myself...but not strait to the forge). I ascended (the funnest part of the game) with a mix of Asclon and collector armor of my own accord.

I have never farmed specifically for money or used many of the techniques for getting money mentioned above, and I've always had just enough money for everything I've wanted. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that doesn't give a rats rump about 15k armor.

Re: And God Said,

yea seriuosly not hard to make money i do desert runs all the time with my axe w/mo most of the time i just quit out of missions cuz there boring and go farm i sell every thing to merhcent unless its max dmg or al with the lowest req and then i keep it unid but the rest i sell to merchents even the gold stuff i find cuz most arent perfect so i make 1.5k a run so i do 20 runs each take 5 minuntes so.... 1.5x20=15k i believe and then 5x20=100 so thats 1 hour 40 minutes! thats how long it takes for a noob to sell a max dmg flamberge ( actually 15-21 dmg) with 11 req and selling it for 2k ( i actually saw this) hmmm idk i think i might farm????

Re: And God Said,

I don't have anything against getting run places for the sake of getting there. However, getting run to Drok's, IMHO, makes the rest of the game up until Crystal Desert way too easy. If you're looking to rush through the game and make it less challenging then that's your choice.

However, nothing burns me more than going into the Ascalon Arena with my level 10 or under character equipped only with items and skills that can be found around the Ascalon map and having to face off against a team of people with Drok's armor, godly weapons, and elite skills they shouldn't have until MUCH later. Meanwhile these guys are like level 14 because they've been there all day pounding on people who didn't come over-equipped and they have like 200 straight wins. Nerfing the game for yourself is your business. Unbalancing PVP to feed your ego just ruins everybody's fun. Go kick around a homeless person or something if that's what it takes to make you feel good about yourself...

I'm not bitter. ;-)
