It is important to me that my character is not group dependant for everything. I don't mind grouping to kill some mob for a lewt quest reward, but I want my character to be able to fight his way through, as I find that more fulfilling.
Does anyone have any information concerning this matter?

I agree. Being a warrior/tanker at heart, I like to solo. But I also like to group too. I think with the ability to customize your enviroment, that will allow you solo or team with a group, which ever you prefer.

It may be posible to solo quite easily however you can see that in the game footage video grouped people are able to make special combos (in the case of this video : one putting the mob down and the other one burrying him with his sword).
It seems to be a very interesting concept...

i would agree that it being a game you can totally solo... they have it set up so that you can customize the environment. From the type of monster that you encounter on a map to how hard they will be to defeat and even what map you play on. so if you don't have a team on you can just set up you mission for one and what you know you can handle... of course it may take a bit of tinkering to learn what you can handle alone and what not, but isn't that half the fun?

This game is probably both ways, but once you get high lvl in search of items you'll group up and stuff. Also for bosses and stuff you'll prolly group up.
Remember, If you get SUN online first help us get a good server so we can all play comfortably :P. Rate everyone :P

Yeah me too. I can go either way but in parties it can go alittle quicker.
