What? No love from or for Protector?

Hey! If you are reading this, you must be looking for something to talk about regarding Protector. Reply to this thread if you just want to say hi. Or start your own thread if you have a real topic of conversation!

Hey - I was just reading about your SG under the listing. It looks like you should get others from your SG to use this site. You can get your own forum board for free :) That may also help increase the use of this forum. I'm in transition between SGs right now, but am going to recommend this to both groups.

I wish I had a higher level char on this server, but I only created a name-saver of Grrrl X, which I only got to lvl 5. She's a Science Tanker, Fire/Fire, and to be honest, I don't think I've played her in months...

I love Protector! I haven't run into many of the player problems that other people seem to be having on other sites. I'm talking about the rude messages after turning down team invites/sidekicking/power levelling/inf requests. Also, the kill stealing hasn't been bad. I know it could be worse.

i play on triumph and havent' had too many problems w/ people cussing me out and what not... i don't seem to be getting as many random team/supergroup requests either, now that i'm a higher lvl.....

out of curiosity does protector have rping?

It's not advertised as such and I don't think I've ever grouped with anyone who has overtly rp'd. Hopefully people are differentiating between their character and themselves, but, you know...

Right now, I am hearing a lot about power levelling. My friends are talking about it and the invitations and requests that they receive. All denials have been politely accepted, but it's one of those evils that seems to permeate the system.

GirlX I think I few over you in IP on the test server the other day... I saw the name and thought... Hum that looks familiar... but anywho.

I've got like 5 chars all on Protector...I love it... the only time I've run into any real rudness is with people requestion powering lvling.. I had one guy that woudn't drop it... "well that's how you probably got to 31" no, sorry I earned... almost all of it... I was only power lvled for about 30 min, once... This guy just kept on it... "well you can just do it for a couple min." So me being me, teamed him... walked over and killed one guy and dropped him,. then blocked him. I'd powered lvl'd all I was going to... and if he didn;t like it he could polish my spiffy new boots. :)

If you're looking for somone to RP with by all means give me a call... I'm fairly new at it, and my Gypsy is well pretty much like me... but hey... I've got another one I don't play... she;s a pirate, and I've got an Italian chick named Tempestare. :) I'd like to RP her for fun :)

Hmm the PROTECTOR server seem very interesting, i might give it a go this week to see what it like, normally i play on the LIBERTY server because that where most of my friends are on, i usually play like a team player helping others to level, heal etc... I been testing around with the various AT and seem to find that BLASTER offers the best all-round performance compare to the other AT ( i wonder what other ppl will say about that ;) )

My chars are:

Stellari - 28 fire/fire blaster
Lightning Rose - 16 invul/energy tanker
Lissa - 11 stone/ice tanker
? - broad sword/regen scrapper

? is an anonymous char, for when I don't even want my husband to know who I am playing or where :)

I also have 7 ice/ice blaster on Guardian and a bunch of level 2 Stellari's for MMO Radio parties.

There levels are likely to not change any time soon. I am mostly playing Stellari and I soloed one of my missions yesterday. I think I got around 2000 xp total, including battle xp. How am I sposed to level on that?

Also, I don't know how the staff here manages to level their chars. I was on for an hour taking screenshots and arrested one bad guy. With all the information gathering you do, how do you manage to level?

i have NO life.. yep that is the secret... no life what so ever.. i work, sleep, post on this forum and play CoH.... have i mentioned i'm addicted? but i usually play at least 5 hours a day (or so give or take a few) i have no TV, and my reading has greatly suffered since i got the game... me and my b/f both have comps and both are extremely addicted to CoH.... but let me tell you the $30 a month for both accounts is a lot cheaper than going out and doing stuff.... and the screens i take don't really cut into my uh, er, lvling, b/c i take them when i see something cool where i am.....i usual spend half of my level doing missions, and the other half doing a grind....

i think the real trick to lvling is to make sure you have a good place to grind for your level, it can tough finding a place, but once you find one, you can usually go back there for a couple of lvl (my last place was the south side of IP lvl 27-29 family) i just hit lvl 31 though and need to find a new place as i'm just not getting the xp i will need to get the 300k to lvl

See I haven't been able to play in a few days, and recently I've been playing... when I play... on the test server, trying to get some of the "super secret" info for here on the site...

My additions don't really cut too much into my gaming time... maybe it's cause I type so fast... ;) Thanks dad ;) but I keep a list of the missing baddies... that's my mission... if I see one... I grab a shot of it... I'f I happen to be somewhere doing a mission that I know... let's say Crey... are prolific... then maybe I'll wonder around and grab some missing ones then go onto my mission... takes a couple seconds out of my game... but.... that and if they're a lvl i can kill after I get a shot of them... they're gone. ;) It's tough to try and balance it all... it'll be vern tought once I start classes next week... but hey.. who needs sleep anyway right?

I know what you mean about the $30 being cheaper than most things.... if my BF and I went to a movie say 2 times a month... that's $32... if we go to dinner ant a nice restarunt... depending on what we get it's $30-$40... so we still do those things but we limit them some... we seriously ask ourselves... do we really want to go out or do we want to stay in a game... the answer is usally stay in a game. ;)

Oh I'm a nerd too.. I know it.... but we at least like to pretend taht we do other things... ho matter how rare that actual occourrence may be.

But for a while at least I'm not going to be able to game hard core the way I want to... My AC took a crap and to spend longer than and hour at her makes me feel like I'm going to melt. :(

I usually do mission write-ups until I get big enough to go after the bigger baddies pictures. I've gotten it down to a system, but it still means I can't group really well while doing a write-up.

Did I mention that my 2 highest level characters are only level 16 and 11 or 12 (I can't remember) respectively?

I still play exclusively on Protector since that's where I started. Right now I'm a Level 23 Fire Magic Blaster. I've never been power levelled though I can see how that can be alluring to those lazy players out there. Yes, I have died many deaths in my quest to upgrade my character. I cancelled my SG, Society of Baphomet, due to lack of interest. (I.E. I was the only guy in it with a few members here and there that switched SGs like Liz Taylor switched husbands.) Look me up sometime on there as DevilPaul. I'm usually around Independence Port, Talos Island, Dark Astoria, and Terra Volta these levels.

I have a 10th level rad/rad defender on protector that I've done some experimenting with. His name is Target Lock, and I'm sticking alot of accuracy enhancements into his main attacks (right now, nutrino bolt and x-ray beam). He's got 3 in each, along with an end reduction, and rarely if ever misses. I usually like to RP this character with a Sly Stallone-ish broklyn accent for whatever reason. "Eh, yo! You's got a rez I c'n borrow?"

Oh, and Stonerguy is on Protector too. Um, he's my exclusive RP guy. I've played him for hours, and he's still only a lvl 4 stone/stone tank, because I spend all my time talking and RPing, rather than hunting baddies. He can be a bit annoying, and if you've ever traveled thru Atlas Park while he's around, you'll know why. I just love some of the comments I get from other players while I'm on with him.

I've only ran into very few other RPers on the Protector server, tho. It seems lonely sometimes.

there aren't as many RP's on Protector, I hink Liberty is the main forum for RPing... not sure why... but hey... I play just one character kind of rp, simply because well the other's are kind of like me in a nerdy, so it's hard to tell weather I'm "RPing" or just being me... so it kind of defeats the purpose.

I've got the one chick... Tempestare... it's Italian... speaks very bad english... and wonders around some times just saying "Buena Sera!" to random hero's on the street :) Cause I'm a dork and try to teach myself languages that I know I'll never speak ;)

But now that I've got really limited time to play I'm working on my main while I'm on... but like I said if you see me playing Sapph, and need someone lower lvl , let me know and I can grab an alt. :)

LOL, I just went to make a character on Protector, turns out I have 3 there already... I have too many... that makes 11 total, plus the one I'm making now.
My protector characters are: (although I obviously hardly play them)

Protector is the main server for me and my rlf's. We started on it because of the light traffic compaired to the others (back before we got RAM and video card updates, lol).

Mostly play as:
ISAW lvl 24 Invul/SS tank
Extractor lvl 35 DM/Regn scrapper
Actinic Warrior lvl 36 Fire/Dev blaster

Other good heroes to team with are:
Lil' Tank lvl 16 invul/ss tank
Gigaton lvl 35 energ/energ blaster
El Dolor lvl 28 spine/regen scrapper
Clinic lvl 18 empath/elec defender
