Help I have tried everthing, but i cant get it to work?
p4 3.0 prescott hyper
abit ic7-g board
2 gigs ram
on board sound and nick
maxator 100 gig sata
sometimes it will install and i can play online
without patching, if i try to patch, it fails and
i cant play at all.
somtimes it works it says i have modified content
revert back to orignial game?
in fact sometimes install can go perfect and it still
says i have modofied content?
i have tried install in safe mode still nothing?
most of the times if im lucky enough to get the cd's
to work without md5 errors, then im sunk before i start?
any help will be appr.

patching meaning both 1.01 and the 1.02 hotfix correct?

If all else fails....call EA...there is an 800 number in your manual that will get you TECH support and they will fix you right up....be warned....sometimes can take over 30min to get through.

If the following info is something you have done already or if it seems too obvious then disregard. But I might do everything from scratch all over again.
Backup files
reinstall windows
install chipset drivers
install graphics drivers
install game
install patch ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/bf2patch_v_102.exe
download all seeing eye and install it
http://gamesdomain.yahoo.com/ase/eula_check
update servers
select server
just start all over again. i can think of no reason why you should be having trouble.

does it appear to be a serious scratch. I remember when i frst got bf1942 i scatched a disk badly and had to get a friend fix it with a disk resstore kit
when i would try to install it it would say "corrupt data"

SORRY GUYS I LEFT OUT MY CARD
ASUS FX 5950 ULTRA 256
EA TOLD ME TO INSTALL IN SAFE MODE.
I TRIED IT I GOT SAME ERROR.
ANYONE KNOW WHAT MD5 ERROR IS, IT HAPPENS WHEN
I TRY TO INSTALL THE GAME. ALSO I WENT AND GOT NEW
SET OF CD'S FROM BEST BUY.
THE ONE TIME I DID GET IT TO INSTALL AND PATCH 1.02
I COULD PLAY ONLINE BUT COULDNT PLAY ALL THE MAPS
SAID MY MAPS WERE WRONG SIZE.
I HAVE TRIED TO FORMAT HARD DRIVE, ALSO DIFFERENT
LEVEL'S OF WINDOWS XP PRO DONT SEEM TO MATTER I TRIED
FRESH INSTALL, SERV PACK 1 AND 2, GOT SAME ERROR
THEN I GOT NEW DVD ROM
NEW SATA DRIVE
MOTHER BOARD (HAD A MSI WHEN I STARTED)
THE ONLY THING I HAVENT CHANGED IS VIDEO CARD
BUT I HAVE TRIED OMEGA DRIVERS, AND NVIDIA DRIVERS.

Ok, here is something to try:
Find a 600mb or bigger file.
Copy it from one place to another on the same drive.
Now compare the source file to your destination file.
If they are different, your pc is corrupting files when copying etc.
Its one of your RAM sticks is bad, and causing data corruption. Try your pc with other ram etc. I found out was a corsair value stick that was bad.
Let me know if u find anything.
