I've written 4 guides so far for this site, and I'm not about to stop. But I can't think of any more guides to write, so I figured I'd ask all of you. You all can also write guides from suggestion placed here, if you're inclined. I won't stop you.
What guides would you be interested in seeing?
Any suggestions I like particularly, and that don't already have a guide on this site to my knowledge, I will look into. I will do it myself until I think I have a good feel for the mission / quest / strategy / whatever and then write a guide about it.
Please provide relevant info when asking for a guide (if any is necessary). For more info see next few posts on this thread.

If you could tell me where to find them, that would make it easier to do myself. That goes for all other types of guides as well. If you want one, give me a location or other appropriate info so I can try it myself like I said I would. Thanks!

If you want to farm those sand drakes east ofelona's reach, try the suicide monk build, i tweaked it a bit to get better healing (orison in stead of reversal of fortune) and i works well.Only prob with taht area are the rock devourers, interupting shits are quite painfull, but if you gather enough drakes around the rockshots i wont be much of a problem. With this build you can also go east of augury rock, to farm the griffons there. Third place you can go is a cave west of droknars forge. Farming goes well there, but again interupting chops should be avoided (tinming is important) (someone wrote a guide about, i think it was the guy who started this thread that wrote that guide)
Speaking on the subject, anyone else know a good farming spot with only melee opponents?

well, disregarding the solo 'farming', killing drakes isnt that difficult, but when you attack, and they cast the spell resulting in the glowing circle (dont remember which they use) disengage and move out of the circle, the drake will follow, then can be easily killed.

The glowing circle is ward against melee...im pretty sure.
As for what other guides i would like to see,i dont know,i never really used them anyways(besides the Hell's one).
Im sure there full of great content but i just didnt have any other problems.
Maybe something with rare materials and what there used for..that would take sometime though.

yeah, a helpful guide for some players would be using common items and turning them to highly sellable items... i.e. wood to parchment, and glittering dust/wood to vellum, the 2 that i have found to be very lucrative

I'm not sure I can write an entire guide on that, but I CAN say one thing: never salvage Charr Hides. You can convert them into fur squares in Ascalon, via a collector located near all the traders.

the only 1 i can think of is the smiting build guide people are always asking how to do that... as long as you are detailed that would be great
Periods are soooooooo over rated...

that solo farming thing sounds good, and i've been meaning to learn the finer points on farming. I'll get to researching that and eventually have a guide. I don't have a smiter, though, but I'm sure somebody who reads this and knows that stuff might be inclined to write one. Cool ideas.

Hi, there
Here comes a new suggestion from a new member of the community...
... what about a guide for selling/buying? I ve finished the game with two characters and still shake in panic when I have to sell all those good weapons and upgrades I dont need. The idea of the Auctions section is admirable (big "/doh" for Arenanet´s inexistent trading system), but since it is not part of the game itself, it´s not as handly as we might wish. So here is the challenging idea for you, big man :P
Even considering that prices are variable, could you make a pricing guide? Ok, just as a contribution to that idea, here goes a few prices for upgrades that I found in a forum (sorry if I dont quote the guy who made it, cant remember the name or the forum. If he reads this and recognises his job, I would like to send him a big "/clap")... Apart from corrections, some things needed to be add, for instance, are guides for pricing weapons according to damage and "free bonuses" (non-upgrades ones), pricing weapons according to combinations and kind of base weapon, etc...

For all us newbs who keep getting long winded nasty replies instead of simple answers - how about a quick and dirty guide to the lingo?
Stuff that's stumped me in the past, which seems like common knowledge to most everyone else, are things like "farming", "aggro", "wts", "wtb", "running", "lfp" and all those sorts of abbreviations for actions and desires that people use when chatting to each other.
If you're reading this and rolling your eyes and saying to yourself, "That's a waste of time. Everyone knows all that by now." - you're probably like the other 99% of players who don't have the time or inclincation to answer the same questions over and over to help the new guy enjoy the game and be a better partner with you in a group.
Putting that stuff in one simple place would help the new folks out a bit and probably spare a lot of repeated question.
Thanks for listening.

Hi, Rob. Here comes a few I can remember right now, hope it helps.
WTB=Want to buy
WTS=Want to sell
OMG=Oh, my god
OMFG=Oh, my fucking God
FFS=for fuck sake
LFG=Looking for group
LFP=Looking for people
Peeps=People
LOL=Laughing out loud
LMAO=Laughing my ass off
WTT=Want to trade
ATM=At the moment
AFK=Away from keyboard
BRB=Be right back
UW=Underworld
FoW=Fissure
m8=mate
np=no problem
gl=good luck
gj=good job (i get this one a lot :P )
gratz, grats...=congratulations
wtf=what the fuck
BTW=By the way
...
Cant really think about anything else atm (kind of in a hurry) but hope that helps.
BTW, in reference to my question above... also consider if the item is gold, purple, blue... etc.
Anyway, take care, theres a war out there... :P

Oh, darn, I forgot (...and gonna be late now, lol...)
Farm or Hunt= Go to kill foes in order to get drops(items)or to get experience.
Aggro= When u make foes attack you
Pull or Lure= When u want to make only one or a few foes come to you without the risk of "aggroing" too many. Normally done by ranged attacking.
Run/Running/Runner=When you want to get somewhere without fighting. Normally done by warriors. Sometimes people look for runners to get to a place they dont have in their maps, so they get a runner in a group so this guy gets to that place and you, automatically, get to that place too.
Trapper/Trapping=Its a ranger build, these characters get their attributes and skills set so they can put loads of traps and atract the foes to those traps.
to Solo=To go on your own so you can get more drops/loot.
And I cant think on anything else at the moment. Once again, i hope this helps.

That lingo one is something I can do almost immediately. I've been in your place, I'm not rolling my eyes! Also, the pricing guide would be helpful too. I was also just thinking I could make a guide for how to use vent (free downloadable software for speaking to your team, but I'll have to use it first).
And thanks for contributions, dannygirl. You're getting credit for that.

Ever since I put up the one about the lingo I felt kinda bad for it, especially since half of it wasn't mine. The one redeeming factor is that I gave lots of credit to the "co-producer," but I still think that I didn't need 50 credit from it.
I am still willing to accept suggestions for guides, but make sure that if you ask for a guide, you think it would be worth 50 credit to have. I don't want to give out crap guides that don't help anybody.
That said, any requests?

I just wanted to say that you deserve all the credit you got for the guide since what I did was write a few notes and you made a whole guide and also -and even more important-, since that correction someone made about it was caused by my mistake when I mixed spike and nuke (oops...). Also consider what you read in the request above, many people would have forgotten they have been new to this "language" once. Add to that the fact that you opened this thread offering help, so I think these are a few reasons why the credit you get is quite fair. If you still have any doubts about it, just close the window and play Guild Wars for a while until you feel better :P
By the way, about my request for a pricing guide, am afraid it will have to wait since -as far as I know- drops are gonna be better with the upgrade and that could make prices go cheaper. We ll have to wait and see.... Probably it wouldn't be a bad idea to make it as a post, so the price can be changed or updated when necessary (tho it could become a messy bunch of opinions, disagreements, requests for particular items prices...).... mmmh... maybe you can actually edit guides? (dunno, since I ve never written one).
Anyways, take care.

After spending some time looking through posts a guide on character combos and styles would be good. Also how the character combos that would work together as a team.
Tips for those classes like warriors try not to sprint in at the start of battle as sprint is better left for quick need to change targets,, and so on.
So the guide would cover
1, main class of a character and base uses (ie; R trapper or Cover fire
2, then go to the second prof (how to use them to boost effects
2b, as a sub topic tactics and ideas
This could end up being a huge guide if too much detail is used so just base ideas and starting skill combos would go well. Each guide should cover one main prof, and its uses and how to setup for a task.
Also this as alot of guide cover farming or power characters that get nerfed sooner or later this guide should last longer.
