ok .... i am quite sick and tired of every time i pop by augury rock for any reson ... 10 people are standing around saying how do you fight the ele dopple / ranger dopple / what ever ... i'm sorry but if good old fassion gammer trail and error isnt getting it done here are some things you NEED to know about dopples.
every dopple reguardless of your class combination is exactly the same as every other dopple accept 2 very small details.. 1 runes they dont have any ... so they dont get +1 o all skills from runes no vitality but no minus 50-75hp from runes eather and second and most important.
the skills you bring into the fight. that is the single way he is like you ... fyi the dopple is better then you btw (in most ways) dopples have max unmodded attributes ... you come in as a (fire ele) for example you load up your fire spells and some useless (for you) earth spells for example you are gonna get shredded couse dopple cast them at FULL power unlike you. same goes for every other skill you have.
now that thats clear ... common tactics are this ... dopple may be wearing full plate and useing the best ranged weapon in the game (max damage bow) and even if your a monk you best beleave he has the ac of full plate. dopples are dumb as a box of rocks they dont know to avoid damage like ranger traps or area effect spells. you on the other hand (i hope) are smart enought to move your ass. btw if you are a ranger those long winded rituals bring every one you have couse dopples will use rituals and that will take up 15-20seconds of the fight with the dopple not trying to kill you.
maybe this will help some of you maybe some need to be walked threw step by step and thats ok ... i'll still be there saying every skill to take in and when to use them but read it learn it trial and error atleast 5 times before you start acting like second graders PLEASE!!!!!!
(OH and my spelling sucks o fing well if i offended anyone grow up. and no i'm not some ass thats been playing a really long time and just got bitter)

Good advice from Donovan, and I agree with him, it is a little annoying that everyone at Augury seems to be asking help on beating their doppleganger.
I've beaten 4 dopplegangers; Elementalist, Warrior, Monk, and Necro, all under 15 secs. I'm not bragging, I just want to offer additional advice:
In general, you want to bring the most damage dealing skills you have, and leave ALL healing skills at home. It can actually be easier if you only take a few skills with you. As Donovan stated, you will be smarter than the computer at avoiding this damage, while he/she will stand there and take it. You won't be able to heal either, but you should be able to kill him quicker than he can kill you.
I would be happy to offer more specific advice for beating any of the above mentioned dopplegangers should anyone want it.

My dopple was very easy. When I fought it with my warrior, I just went in with no skills and whacked him, doing 45 dmg to him a pop.

ive beaten it with my 3 rp chars, monk, war, ele. it just takes a bit of thinking, and most people dont want to think for themselves. thou i do help ppl at augury asking how to do it.

Donovan...gave ya a +5 I like your attitude and the content was good with what you were stating. I don't know why everybody panicks about the doppleganger, they drop like fly's for me. with all my normal combat skills in for what ever character I was fighting them with. If you have to change up skills to beat yourself then I think you're doing some thing wrong in the first place. If you can slay most of the NPC's before you get to the rock, then you can slay your mirror. Just quit being afraid to go try yourself, it's not like if you die its all over...its a game! enjoy the immortality that the game allows you to have. if you die, oh well!! you respawn and try again. If nothing else take a large rock with you and throw it at the mirror....lol never seen a mirror that lived after being hit with a rock j/k ;- )

side note ... i'm not sayin i just walk'd up and poof won every dopple fight ... ya warrior vs dopple is kinda cake my 3 yr old could stomp him but then again necro dopple ... not so much dont know how many trial and error combo's i had to do before i won that fight. ele was cake ranger took me a few try's of watching the dopple then cake. (hated necro the most btw)

yea i agree y cant people think for themselves with my ranger i tried several times untill i found my best skills to usr against him and i didnt even use any ranger skills i completely turned myself into my second proffesion necro and equiped all the sacrifice skills i had and it worked
while with my warrior i just thought about it for a bit before tryin and i just equiped frenzy as this would help yea he would attack faster but he would take double dmg and y cant people just think its not hard and any 1 can do it
