ascending at lvl 12? ur dopple is always lvl 20, but anyway just have devine boon and healing breez equiped, ONLY those 2, put devine boon b4 i step on the stones then wen u fight him just atak and he wont do anything but reg atacks so just heal wen u need it and just keep hitting him, worked for me but i was lvl 19

Retribution Healing Breeze got me the win, I was higher level but it might still work.
