Are sets random or is there a way to get them? Do you pretty much just luck out with them?

well 2 sets that i know of aren't random and u have to search for Nature's Vilgilance which would be the noobie dryad set when u first start. and the mysterious set. other than that i am not sure. i think its just whatever drops drops. just like diablo +to mf = better drops :)

reading this might SOPOIL you some things
I tested this a lot...there are some things that influence the set drops:
- first is the %magic find,but that is obvious
- then the drop is according to your level and the region you are in...I played a little more in the begin parts of the game like the Greilyn Jungle...first my drops increased with my level..then after a level I keep getting the same stuff...another thing: in Aman'lu you met this guy named Fyrndalf(I posted something at the tip&hints section http://dungeonsiege2.gameamp.com/tip_libra...es/400.php)..he gives you the reward from the Feldwyr the Blacksmith quest,and is constantly a weapon.now I took my reward at 23 lvl...but a friend of mine waited till 40 to test if he would get something better...he didn't...the same weapons to choose from
- and there is another category:monsters that have some levels over you...I beat some of them but they didn't drop yet any set or uniques..only rares that I couldn't wear..most of them junk

sets i know are fix :
vigilant dryad set (fixed drop locations in act 1)
ghostly vision set (2 rings + amu) from the ghostly spirits (quest)
forgotten set (2 rings + amu) from a quest in act 2
