Light or Dark?

So the name of the game is about your alignment. I was wondering what everyone is planning on choosing and why? I know some will be determined by the race you choose (some races only allow a certain alignment), but what will the other deciding factors be?

Since I play COH, and are now dedicated altoholic, I will try both sides. At least I hope, alts are possible ?!?

i put a link up about the beta test under game info... it has links on where to register on the site and where the beta sign up is (currently it is a bit loopy) and the most info that i can give about how many they are releasing can be found here.. it is how many people they have let in and when they have done it

i signed up in Dec 2003 but no luck and they are mostly taking people who are most active on DnL.net forums and who are in guilds already 10,000 testers for guilds only in Jan 2005

Yikes, that is nearly 2 years now. You are a patient man. Hopefully they will come through this November. I am so eager to wander that world. Have you joined a guild yet, brodar? I have seen so many guilds and recruitments on the official site, but it seems a bit meaningless to sign for one. (Looking at your avatar you have, but that could be a DAoC logo as well)

yah i guild i was in and still in we have bee a guild for about 4 yrs now but more spread out over 4 differant games now but with CoV and WoW expantion not many are going to DnL i may be the only one so i'm leaving my options open to join a guild since this is going to be a strong part of the game

If it's possible, I'd plan to maybe be a Dark druid. I forgot to check up on this game and didn't realize it was so much further along. I need to look up to see what restrictions on classes/races/side there are.

Hi Croake, welcome to GameAmp! We are eagerly awaiting the release of the Settlers of Ganarath. It is supposed to come out this month, and the signs look promising.

My plan was to create a light Bard. But as it turns out Bards are only on the Dark side. Apparently the Light folks don't like to sing and dance.

And it looks like you are out of luck too. Druids are Light.

Ah well.. then I really wouldn't know what I'll be. I'm not surprised that there are light/dark limitations on classes, but I hope it doesn't impact the number of player balance between light and dark.

A bigger issue right now is that I can get verified for the Dark and Light site forums. I signed up for both the forums and the beta, but no email showed up for forum verification. I even checked the spam folder.

Looks like the problem is on DnL's site. lectricblue seems to be having exactly the same problem here. Maybe their forum registration server is overloaded. Give it a day or two, and maybe a belated email will come your way. Alternatively you could try to register with a different name and/or email address. I know it is not the best advice, but it is all I can give.

yay! I got my forum confirmation email earlier today.

I'd really like to be dark, but for classes I'm more interested in druid types. But then maybe I'll change my mind as I learn more about the various classes in the game.
