November Rain

Some of you probably noticed the great pics that were submitted this morning by November Rain. She's a long time listener, first time caller, and I thought I'd start up a thread to give her an official welcome. Thanks for the excellent screens, November, and welcome to the forums.

Wait so do we Welcome You and then she will be welcomed by you? Or do we Welcome Her here but then she will be Welcomed by us? Or do we Welcome her here and then you will Welcome her for us?

See this Welcoming can be quite confusing. I mean you have already been welcomed so we most certainly can't welcome you, thats just plain silly but we need to welcome her. I approved all of her screenshots this morning so I welcomed her that way. Some great shots....looks like Liz has some competition for ladies on the block. She already struck down numerous others and they are all now in place as model gameampers.

So back to the welcoming, will the welcome lose all its welcomeness if she doesnt post on the Welcome thread you started. Im trying for a record of how many times the word welcome appears in this thread. I am generally one of the last people to get to welcome a new member. So I figure why not do this one in grand style and welcome November Rain to the gameamp.com community. Glad to have you aboard the site, always great to have new members.

So in closing this welcome reply on the welcome thread that Mal posted for November to welcome her to gameamp.com. Welcome to the site and feel welcome to submit some more screens, post some articles, guides, or anything else you feel like you can contribute to the site. Once again welcome!

Oh I scare them off do I? Who was the man that stepped in and took the brunt of the attacks when some unsavory people stopped by the site to besiege you? Who held his ground and kept you afloat during those troubling times? Scare them off! Bah!

Why I love getting new members on the site. They dont know it but they have tons of useful knowledge to share once they step into the light and have some fun w/ us!

Ok I gotta stand up for Grif on this one, I mean after all he did at least get to the point at the very end of his long, long, long welcome but the point was there all the time. Personally I didn't see any spelling or grammatical issues so thats a point for Grif...so far the game is Grif=2 The rest of us=0.

I got a question, how come, on my 80th post, i still havent been welcomed to the site and i havent even seen a post by Nov yet(nice screenshots though, BTW) and she has a whole thread to welcome her??? I didnt even notice till i was looking through my first few posts trying to find out where i got some mystery credibility and noticed i was never welcomed.

just looked at november's info and would like to say i hope that all of your freinds and family are ok. i am originally from LA myself but luckily all my family now lives in north LA or in Tampa.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I wasn't even aware that this thread had been made. After just surviving one of the worst disasters I've ever seen in my life (Little Miss Katrina), I fanally got electricity back a few days ago, and decided to play the game to get my mind off of things. I ran across Mr Brightside totally by accident (Kinda zoomed past him before I realized who he was). Well, one thing led to another, I complimented him on his wonderful site, and even spent a few minutes playing with him.

Thank you all again for the Warm welcome, and pray for our city of New Orleans.

I've got plenty of characters, but only have two real main ones, on Guardian:

November Rain -- 50 MA/INV Scrapper
Rebel X -- 24 WS

I started November Rain on November 1st 2004, when I was home sick with a wicked case of shingles. She has kind of always been my escape when times are tough. I reached 50 in Late March of 2005, kind of sad to see it end. But I still have missions to do with her, and I play every chance I get.

And since I get asked this question all the time, YES the Guns N Roses song was part of my inspiration for the name... along with the fact that November 1 is her birthday. God, I just said my COH character has a birthday-- I think I need some time outside.

I have a GIANT repository of old screenshots, and I make new ones every day. It's kinda fun putting them out there so you guys can maybe see things from a new perspective. Having played solo for most of my career, my missions aren't ridiculously crowded and the cool stuff is easier to see. Well, I'll let you be the judge of that.

I apologize for not posting sooner, but the truth is I didn't even know this was here. I just happened across it. I want to thank you all for your thoughtfulness, so I gave everybody that posted anything the highest score possible.

I am not much on religion but I have been praying for the city. Some of my favorite life moments have come there. I love sitting on the benches next to cafe dumond (sp?) Watching the sun rise with a nice beignet. I am a huge saints fan and am horrified at how the superdome has been defiled. Driving through the garden district is one of the most beautiful drives you can have. I hope that all the people can move back as soon as possible.

This new involvement in this website has been wonderful. I look forward to new posts just like the big dork that I am. I will be putting up some more shots soon. But first I want to work on my signature to make it have all of my characters listed like everybody else.

We all need a place to escape. I chose this game long ago because I love superheroes. In fact when I bought it, I didn't realize it was an online game. Quite honestly I would have preferred a single player game with the same capability. But then I got to meet some really cool people, and suddenly it made the game worth it. I originally found this website on google while looking for maps. I see by my name that I signed up in February, so that would have put November in her late 30's trying to make my way around without a mission or any chance of XP.....Croatoa must have brought a sigh of releif to those not quite to level 40. I look forward to taking Rebel there once she comes of age.

I was on my way to Skyway City from Talos Island when I saw Mr Brightside streak across the screen-- there was no way I was letting him go without saying hi. Because I am a screenshot junkie just like you Jeni, and I visited the site regularly, and still do, to see the screenshots. I'm a full blown junkie.

If any of you guys want or need help from me let me know! I don't have all the skills that I've read in the forums about stats and stuff-- but I'll give it my best shot!

IF you ever make a hero on Victory please look me up I would love to team with you.
this is such a great site...I am like you in that the site and the game are often my best way of coping with RL. Myfew hours a night as a hero are my "GREAT ESCAPE'

Whimsy and Nakoma, thank you for your nice words. One of you made a comment about trying to get away from the news coverage... speaking of that, a funny thing happened to me on the way to the grocery store today. (Yes GROCERIES!! NOT MRE'S!! FINALLY SOME REAL FOOD YAY!!!-- but I digress). The drive from my house to the Rouses supermarket is about 15 minutes, and I had the radio on: Eagle 98.1, my favorite station for classic rock. Well the entire 15 minute drive was one constant commercial break that started with a deep sad voice and slow jazz music, "Are you or your family a victim of Hurricane Katrina? blah blah blah whatever they were selling".

It is easy to get away from storm coverage up north. But down here you can't even try to listen to some Skynard on the radio without being bombarded by sad music and constant reminders of what happened. It is important for people not from Louisiana to know what happened. It is important for them to understand. But I wish the media would move on and let us heal.

And on that note, I will post no further remarks on this thread about the storm. With this one final exception: Thanks for showing me that people still give a damn. New Orleans thanks all of you.

Now from here on, it's just dorkiness and fantasy for me.
