Korean Graphics - Yes!

No doubt Korea has to be the market leader in beautiful games. Titles like this, and previously Lineage2, have jaw dropping graphics. But where L2 lacked was the in-depth gameplay that most Japanese and American games boast. Now, I'm not trying to generalize, but the eastern mindset seems to be on grinding rather than questing. Do you think Huxley will break this mold?

Re: Korean Graphics - Yes!

just because the graphis look good doesnt mean it is korean made. If You look at the character, weapon, and setting design, it resembles alot of modern day american sciencefiction style of conceptiualism.

Not to mention... If it "was" korean it would be plagued by usless mechanized robot-like units and annoying small furry animal/human races that are overpowerd and fun for queers and little school girls to play as. There would also be little to none storyline and would be just one big pointless asian grind-fest with no interesting storyline content.

This game looks good... Just judging from the screenshots and videos it looks like it has substance to its storyline, almost as if they are going to make you feel a sense of pride for your faction. And take the role and personality of your characters race. The "One" being arrogant and confident of being the overlords of earth. The "Syn" a race that wants peace but will not sacrifice themselves in order to maintain. The "Alterravers" are the outcasts that have such pride for their shattered society that they will sacrifice everything inorder to keep their bretheren in a sense of existance. And finally the bastard race of "Alternix" mysterious and alienated for their looks, struggle to be accepted and dominent.

No Korean game would ever go any where as deep as huxley seems to go. I find Korean designed games to be extremely shallow and not worth their attractive face value. Lineage 1 was trash, much like its predacessor Lineage 2. I hope i dont see the day Play NC comes out with Lineage 3. As for "RF Online" I have found it to be absolute trash and has the worst gameplay for a triple faction I have ever seen. DOTA for Warcraft 3 had more depth and gameplay then "RF Online" did, and I was a Tides of Blood fan...

Huxley will apparently be using the Unreal engine, which was created in america, and most of the design team appears to be american too. I will almost bet you that the writter for the storyline is also american. I hope they come out with the offical site soon, so i can see who is on the design team for this promising game.

BTW: I know Webzen is global corporation with roots in Korea, america, and china.

Re: Korean Graphics - Yes!

In my for the most part limited experience, Korean games tend to play almost like RTS games (no surprise there). Basically it's a race to see who can figure out how to most-efficiently level up in the game, and then you sit around seeing who can do it for the longest amount of time. It's a very dry approach to MMORPG gaming, which seems to emphasize stats and rankings more than the more "fluffy" things like exploration and storyline. To me it always appeared to be more of a competition to see who could "figure out" the game the fastest.

At least, that's what I've seen.

Well then Huxley is going to have to be different from those other RPGs if they are going to make it a true FPS. They need to back up the claim that a lower level player could kill a higher level one based on his personal skill level.

Everyone needs to jump on board and play this game if it's going to be as great as they say.
