Healing Monk

I have a monk for a while now and he's level 20 but I have a problem with it. He runs out of energy to fast. All the skills and the stats are: Healing Breeze
Orison of Healing
Dwayna's Kiss
Heal Others
Heal Party
Healing Seed
Divine Boon and
Rebirth

And for my stats: 15 Healing Prayers
8 Protection Prayers
10 Divine Favor

And for my armor well I got the best thing for an armor.
So I'd like to know if someone knows, what do I have to put in skills to never run out of energy or barelly and to be the best Healing Monk I can be.

Thanks you very much :)

Re: Healing Monk

I have my second profession as a mesmer so he can steal energy from the monsters. Otherwise, it pays for warriors to not run ahead before checking on the energy levels of his players.

Re: Healing Monk

couple of suggestions there

- Drop heal party and healing breeze (though breeze is optional) = Why these? First heal party is 15 energy, and takes a little while to cast. Second - while heal party heals everyone for a bit, it's only about as much as orison and dwayna's kiss.

In it's place - I suggest taking along the elite Word of Healing. It's only 5 energy, and gives a nice boost to healing if the target is under 50% energy. Also, and this is in place of breeze - take healing touch, especially if you have a relatively high divine favor. This spell is good to use on yourself for self heals.

Put nearly all of your points into healing and divine favor - with your only protection skill being rebirth, you don't want a lot of points into protection for such a small return.

Next - Have two items - a staff that provides a bonus to energy (so your energy boost is around 12 or so), and get the desert healing ankh (I think it's from a collector in Vulture drifts near dunes). This ankh gives the following stats: Energy +12, energy +15 (for a total bonus of +27), +30 HP, and a -1 energy regen. Get any wand for the weapon.

- The reason you have the ankh if for when you need the extra energy for healing. When you start running low, switch to the staff for the increased energy regen.

Last suggestion - Get the ascetic armor. You're going to lose the bonus armor against physical, or elemental (depending on what armor you have), but you'll get a bonus to energy (a total of +7 I believe)

Here's the build I use
Healing 15 (12 +1 (head tattoo) + 2 (major rune)
Divine 13 (12 + 1(minor rune))
Protection (whatever's left)

Noticed that all my attribute points are in my monk skills. Ignore your secondary class at this point.

My skill bar:
Restore life (or rebirth)
Word of Healing (elite)
Heal other
HEaling seed
Orison of Healing
Healing touch
Dwayna's kiss
Other skill - healing breeze, res sig (if I'm the only monk or if we're going into a situation that needs a quick res), cap sig, or just personal choice.

The key to this build is very simple - cheap, quick, and very effective heals. With the divine favor bonus - you have an orison that heals for almost 125 points. I can keep a party of six healed throughout an entire melee without a problem, and can keep a group of 8 up for nearly three minutes before energy begins to be a problem.

Hope this helps.

Re: Healing Monk

Ok I see some obvious flaws in your build. Dont use heal other with divine boon and really dont use heal party unless you have too. My current skill bar.

Divine Boon
Dwayna's Kiss (use on hexed people)
Healing seed
Protective Spirit (Good for sorrows furnace and other places with archers and axe warriors)
Healing breeze
Ward of Healing (elite)
Essense Bond (If you use this right you will never run out of energy)
Restore Life (Rebirth sucks because it takes all your energy)

Attributes are:

11+3+1 Healing
10+1 Protective
10+2 Divine
Superior Vigor

All draknars tatoo armor

And I use The Yakslapper as my weapon

Re: Healing Monk

I have had success with the following:

Restore Life
Divine Boon
Healing Breeze (rarely use this)
Signet of Devotion (heals 89 for no energy)
Orison of Healing
Word of Healing
Heal Other (rarely use this)
Healing Seed

Attribs:
16 Healing (head tat & sup rune)
13 Divine (minor rune)
rest doesn't matter

Armor:
Tats of course

Weapon:
Wand with +5 energy
Ahnk +12 energy, +44 health

If you warriors are smart and stick together (yeah right) then seed takes care of them. I usually roll with guildies so the tanks actually work together ;) Then I spam signet, orison and word as needed. I only use heal other and breeze when the team is in dire straights.

I don't know of a many people that use signet but it can be very helpful when/if your energy does get low.
