Mesmer/Ranger

Ok, wanted to try a new class, and after the excellent guide about making a perfect pet, I wanted to be in some fashion a ranger. So, I made a mesmer/ranger. Thoughts? Any good suggestions for what skills I should spend points in?

At first, I wasn't that thrilled and was thinking of changing to E/R, but then after a bit, I had a rhythm down and my pet and I were going a good job of taking down monsters. But, I am still pre-sear, so if I am to change, now is the time. :)

Mesmer/Ranger is a goood combo as is Ranger/Mesmer. Early on you'll need some points in beast mastery. If you plan to carry a bow spend some for that as well. It's later on that you'll realy like the combo. You will most likely drop the pet to use the space for some other ranger distrupting skills, traps etc. I have a Ranger/Mesmer and I love using the combo. The pet dont get out much. Just play around with the skills and attributes until you like the results. Have fun!

Thanks for the feedback! It is greatly appreciated. I guess I will stick it out and see what kind of kick butt Me/R I can become. :)

Re: Mesmer/Ranger

i not too good but heres my opinion.

this isnt too common of a combination. but it does bring a unique blen of skills to a grup. using epidemic or fevered dreams, with poison or pin down works really well
depending on weather you choose to specialize in domination or irrusion magic, you can either be an anti caster or you can pretty much slow everything in sight with immagination burden and pin down. the mesmer ranger provides enough damage and anti caster power to annihilate enemy spellslingers in large fights.

p.s. please give me a good rating thanks

Thats the way it is try something new not something usual, but i think that later in the game you're gonna see that having a pet its gonna cost u greatly since they're damage is not that great plus i think that a me/r with the right skills and the right person playing could be a really good interupter, and you can always try different things too (i'm not an expert at this) like lets say u wanna drain hp fast use apply psn or psn arrow and conjure fantasm or i dunno theres so many skills and ways to build your characters out there that its rally what suits u better i say go for it! Good Luck with your Me/R!
