I was wondering if it is just me, or if others can see that there is little to no chance that a certain player has earned the armor he/she is wearing (aka: bought gold onling).
Example: in team arena yesterday I was playing my monk and we happened to fight a team with a FoW armored Warrior. When I reached around 50life I through on my Mark of Protection (negates all damage dealt to me, and I gain that life instead) and the warrior kept on attacking me (their mesmer who was using ill. weaponry elite stopped attacking after 1-2 swings). This warrior kept attacking me until the end of the spell, and I had full health long before then.
I find it hard to beleive someone could have FoW armor on a warrior and yet not notice the red -0 and blue +23 above their enemys health whenever they attack. Anyone else think so also?

I don't necessarily believe that just because the player was being ignorant of the fact that he was replenshing your health for you means that he didn't earn his armor. I agree that it seems entirely possible that he may have paid real money for some fake money; however, pvp and farming are two entirely different beasts.
He may have just been trying to apply the same tactics he used on most monsters as not a whole lot of monsters used mark of protection. Most of the time if you just whack on a monster long enough it will die.
Also it may be that that person has never played a monk and is unaware of such a skill as mark of protection.
IMO regardless of whether he has too much money on his hands or is just plain ignorant, I don't believe that there is enough evidence from one pvp battle to assume that he paid some real greenbacks for some fake ones.

The Priests of Sorrow from the Sorrows Furnace update cast Mark of Protection, as well as alot of bosses from southern shiverpeaks and beyond. I think Mark of Protection is the Most commonly used monk elite in the game by mobs.
I wasn't paying close enough attention, but I am pretty sure the warrior was a warrior/monk (seems like 50%+ of them are, but myself im a warrior/necro). I know the only real proof is that if I had saw him buy it, just wanting some opinion based answers =). (like the one you provided)

I've done this by accident a few times in PvE, usually occurs when i have my 'view' too close and the foe is big, like a dolyak i actually couldnt see the damage not being done :S

IMO it is perfectly possible. Excusing my own ignorance, i must tell you that was a long time ignorant of the real properties of mark of protection (even playing monk), as in the spanish translation it says something like: "...any damage that would couse your death will be turned into health gain...". I personally never used it until a guild member helped me out (i asked him about the skill). The thing is that this is not a long time ago, and if I hadn't been playing 4 char almost at the same time, I would have been able to earn money for FoW armour perfectly (playing only 1 char instead). I hope I made my point clear. :D
