| Blending that RPG in with Non-Linear Game Play |

What I’d really like to see is a non-linear FPS world where you can casually walk into areas that you could get your butt kicked (because of your undeveloped character or xp level) and then areas where you should be able to fight. You don’t have a set path through the game, you simply discover your path as you go.
Though I thoroughly enjoyed the situations Call of Duty placed me in I’d like to see how Offset can give me the non-linear feel of an RPG blended with the scripted situations that Call of Duty and Half-Life 2 allow you to have.
I think this non-linear game play as well as the persistent xp system Offset will be adapting would be an awesome blend of RPG and FPS.
What say you?

I think it would be nice to play a MMO in which it wasn't all plotted out for you. Where the choices you made effect your game rather than just doing missions and it not mattering wether you succeed or fail everything is still the same.
I also think it would be great to be able to set your own goals, but still have some quests you can do.

Ummm... maybe I'm a little late to the game here, but I think you can officially call me intrigued! Gotta keep my eyes on this one.

I am torn between linear and non-linear gameplay. I would love to have a game that has a world and you are just plopped down in it and told to go to town, however, that would get old pretty quick, I think. In linear gameplay you tend to have more of a story to follow, kinda like enjoying a movie.
What I hope is that they get the proper mix. If you let me run around too much, I'll get bored too quickly. If you direct my play too much I'll get disappointed with the lack of options.
Well, that's my thoughts on the subject anyway.
