Are there a great deal of Quests in WoW or not quite enough? Kind of curious if the majority of your xp comes from hunting (usually the case) or if Blizzard got frisky and changed all that.

From what I have seen it looks like a majority of your XP comes from questing...so I think there are allot of quests. And they should have more quests when it’s released. So I think there are enough quests to keep you going for a long time

As well as cinematics for some of the major quest completions.
Blizzard cinematics! Can't ask for more than that! I can't wait. I'm stoked to see this game go retail.

Quests are VERY big in the game, and there are alot of them. It is much, much easier, and more fun, to get exp from quests. All the quests i've experienced so far have been very fun and unique. They have kept me interested and anxious to see just what my next quest will be.
However, this isn't to say that you can't just hunt to get exp if thats what you would rather do, but it is much, much slower and not nearly as fun.

Yep, yep. Quests, quests and more quests. Each race/class starts in his/her newbie area and runs a very similar set of quests (depending on which NPC's you talk to) until about lvl 10 or so. Then you will start branching off a bit. I've noticed that even into the low 20's there are several people all trying to do the same quests. Which is great when you need a group of 19s to finish a lvl 23-25 quests. It's very cool how grouping is encouraged in the game. You can solo, sure. But to solo, you'll probably end up XP killing between quests to be able to finish some of the Elite ones.

There are 1000+ quests in game (If anyone wants to count go to www.thottbot.com and choose quests on the left hand column - good luck).
XP so far pans out for me in roughly this manner.
30% quest rewards
60% gained while on the quest (killing mobs etc..)
10% misc (helping friends, working trade skills etc..)
I'm a quest addict in all games so the more the better, but you litterally can go from one quest to the next all the way to the level cap and never stop questing.
I have never experienced the XP grind in WoW.

Awesome Trex thanks for the info!
I'm guessing its like COH. You have the option to quest if you like or hunt. I probably will enjoy running around a little and exploring...then questing from there.

Roughly 2200 quests in the game 2 patches ago, and there have been a considerable amount added since. Plenty of questin time.

The amount of quests in the game is staggering to a newbie such as myself thus far. I loved CoH for a few months for the same reason; however, those missions didn't seem to have enough "Weight" to them, and there wasn't enough gameplay elsewhere for me to stick with it.
WoW, with its amazing quests, PvP that seems to matter, crafting, and more focused storyline seems to have taken the best of every mmo and combined it into one killer game (partially stolen quote from NoGame, heh.)
I am very pleased with WoW thus far. I've played the EQ2 beta and WoW beta, and honestly, it is inevitable to compare the two. EQ2 is beautiful no doubt, but it is also very plastic and artificial feeling. WoW is gritty, even if it is in a cartoonish way.
The geek in me just smiles more when he plays WoW

Yeah there are quests left and right and from what I can tell. The exp bonuses are very nice. I have been playin solo so far I'm only lv6. So many quests to choose from that's for sure.
All the best,
Mike

Oh man, I wanted alot of quests, but I am a quest addict. I have to finish all of them. I can't wait until I get the guide, come on Tuesday, big money(check from work). But yea, I am a freak, I will not beat the game until all quests are done and I am the highest possible level.
Let me tell you, for the game La Pucelle Tactics, OMG, that was a lot of leveling. 550 levels.....and it levels like every normal game.

I do not grind. Quests drive most of my action. I have farmed a little for particular regents. That said, I have played 2 characters and not repeated many of the same quests. I think that is a huge number of quests.

it depends for me...
if i need wool/silk i will grind and just try to gain xp off my rest...
if i have no rest and im on for a good amount of time, i will do some quests to try to gain some XP...
it all depends on what kind of mood I am in...
