does any one know how to couculate (can't spell) the damage thats taken off for each of the absorbtion things

Calculate* and I don't think there is a way, although I could be wrong. I can tell you that Superior absortion and Major Absortion (like the vigors) aren't THAT MUCH different.

well im not sure but from my experience and looking on the web it seems to be that
minor= -1 dmg
major= -2 dmg
superior= -3dmg
but im not fully sure as these are only estimates

Prince Oidor (Level 20 Dervish/Elementalist)
Prince Androabyss (Level 20 Paragon/Any)
Amozan Assasin (Level 20 Assasin/Any)
Princess Abena (Level 20 Warrior/Elementalist)
Princess Abyss (Level 20 Elementalist/Mesmer)

thx but as a folow up question can i have more than 1 of the same rune on my clothes to get both effects (like major sword on my boots and helm)

no you cnt stack runes, so it is just a waste of gold to try. In other words two swordsmanship runes as an example, the game will only dredit you for one of the two runes being in your armor.

That is right. You get the bonus of the greater of the two runes that are alike. However, if they are major or superior, I do believe that the penalties stack. So a Major rune of Marksmanship and Superior rune of Marksmanship will give you +3 3 to your marksmanship skill, you will lose 50 hp (Major) and 75 hp (superior) for a total of a loss of 125 hps. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong on this.

At GWonline.net there's this article which tries to explain how damage work.
After reading it you'll probably wonder why the absorption runes are so bloody expensive.
