Xunlai support in GH

I just got this idea and wanted to get it tested by you guys. Here goes.

What I ment with Xunlai support in the GH is not just the already proposed storage in teh guildhall, (which btw should be there!) I thought of a guild storage. This being the following:

- A storage with somewhat more slots than a normal storage, open to all guild members.
- All guildmembers can make deposits (money, materials or items)
- Only officers can withdrawl from it.

The purpose:
All too often when you want to get a new armor, you lack the right materials to craft it, lack funds etc. When you ask guildmembers for some materials some might have some at hand, which then you can get for a fair price (but usually for free ;P)
It would be nice if guildmembers could deposit their salvaged materials in a storage where it could be used by other members who need it. And when they need some, other members may have deposited the materials you need.

Although I know this example is based on the willingness of guildmembers to donate their profit to the good of the guild, I think it might be an idea worth pondering about.

Another thing wuld be that you could donate runes, and weapons that are good, but not for your character. Some1 else might use it.

I added the officer withdrawl restriction on it to prevent some1 plundering the safe..

Also it would be nice to have a deposit and withdrawl log with it to see who is generous and who isnt :P

That could make it work, good idea!

EDIT: Yeah, it is about the 100th time but it has a nice idea on how they could do it. Guild Wars say they're adding all this anyway I think.

Love this idea. But I would say only the leader can withdraw and maybe the leader can give the ability to an officer to withdraw funds and items, but not all officers and a log would be nice.

Re: Xunlai support in GH

Although this is a much repeated idea, Lani has sorted through many posts and summarized the best of the ideas. This seems to be the most workable version. It eliminates a lot of potential abuse, yet is not too complex.

As for who has access, I agree that, for simplicity sake, all officers have access. If a person can not be trusted with the responsibility, they should not be officers. That is the point of having officers and members. Some are granted greater responsibility.

(Of course, on a side note, I saw someone looking for members for a new guild. He stated that the next four people to join will be officers. I feel sorry for that guild.)

Re: Xunlai support in GH

I did?
Well not intentionally then :-)

But maybe it'd be a good idea to form a seperate forum for Chapter 2 idea's / discussion?

They're a hot item at the moment but do tend to get lost in the General Discussion forum which does result in the rehashing of idea's. Some people flame these even when there's a new spin to an idea. That's sad and not constructive in my opinion. A seperate forum might aleviate this. I'm not talking chapter2.gameamp.com here, just a new top-level forum for guildwars.gameamp.com

Ya know what would really be cool?
If the Guild Hall would have logs, picture albums, fora etc accesible through lecture stands e.t.c. Basically an entire Guild site with everything on it but useable from inside the game :-)

Re: Xunlai support in GH

1: Yeah.. they should make a forum for new ideas, cause they get snowwed under by other topics quite easy (which is how it came to be I repeated this idea)

2:@lani Great idea, it would be nice to have a guildhall thats more of a home. Cause besides the meeting vor GvG and the officer meetings we have, the place has not too much use. It woiuld be nice to see a lot of GH improvements in chapter 2, like the lecture stand logs, storage, physical improvements etc.

Re: Xunlai support in GH

thats a sweet idea, you said only officers, thats not realy fair is it, anyone should be able to draw, but officers should have to authorize it, so you try to draw the stuff, and a message is sent to all officers, only one needs to accept it, that would work pretty well i think.

Re: Xunlai support in GH

Yep, that would work better. In the original idea an officer and the member wanting an item would both have to be prescent, in the Guild Hall, the officer would have to remove the item from storage, then trade it to the other player. This way has less actions involved and only requires an officer to be online :-)
Ofcourse, donations should be completely free to make without officer intervention :-)
