| Having your IN GAME NAME in your profile |

Alright, so I noticed that we don't have any way of contacting others here except for PM's or whatever else is in the profile. And I here's just me thinking about it, doesn't it cause some problems on the auctioning?
I would like to ask if there was a way to put a person's guild wars IGN (in game name) somewhere so we can go on and contact them that way. Please leave any messages concerning this, because I feel it will do me a great deal of help, and to anyone else who needs to contact others.

Hmmm? nice idea but I think most people would be afraid of getting hundreds of PM's everytime they logged into GW, ever had a freind start PM'ing you while you were fighting 15 hydras or battleing it out in the UnderWorld? now multiply that times all the people that read this web page.
Wow-zers!

I don't think so. I put my IGN on another forum and I rarely get whispers. :p I think it would be great to have it on here so we can instantly contact people on the auctions. But hey, that's just me :)
(And I'm sure not very many people on here that post, will all contact one person :p)

Well, there are 2 ways that I have done it:
1) Put your current characters in your signature.
Click Account Information, add the information to the Signature field, click Update Account.
2) Create aliases under Game History.
Click on Game History, click on Add Handle. Enter the information. You can even post a picture with each handle if you like. You can check my profile if you wanna see what I mean.
As for millions of players messaging me ingame, I have only had 1 person actually track me down. He wanted to know if I could run him somewhere and was completly polite about it.

I know one reason some don't is (if you do a search in the forums), there have been times when some people on here have almost harrassed characters in game for money and such. The player makes a comment on here about having money, or some special item, and then they get repeated whispers in game to "help out". (I know..that is what the ignore list is for.. heh heh)
Granted, I agree, it doesn't happen all the time, but I think that is why some don't publish their game names. They don't wish to be "bothered" while playing. Others on here, at one time or another have posted their game names in posts. Having the names in a sig line I think is a great way to share what players you have going. (their levels, etc.)
Just my humble two gold. I think over all it is a good idea to post game names, to help further a community feeling that we have on here. But hard to accomplish when some people (and they don't even have to be members of gameamp.com) abuse such things. :(

I agree. If anyone abuses it just one time with me and they will earn themselves a one way trip to my ignore list. :-)

There already is a place for them. Look at Game History in your profile.

I personally don't care who PMs me in-game, I can either respond or not respond depending on whether I'm busy or not. Besides which, one of the only guys to PM me in-game is UC Cat, and now we're in the same guild. I don't see any problem with posting your IGNs.

I think having your In Game Name in your profile would be the best idea ever. Since I auction off a lot of items, I PM the winners, but I get no replys. So if In Game Names were added to the profile, I would be able to add them in the game and message them when they are on and make the trade! =)

As posted before check your Profile and go to Game History! You can even upload an avatar for each one of your characters :)
