I was looking in the skills guide on this website and it said that you could get the skill Barrage by stealing it from a lvl 2 charr named Vatlaaw Doomtooth. But isnt he the charr you fight on the Ascolon academy mission with prince ruruick in pre-searing? How would you be able to get it? You dont get signet of capture until Lions arch now.

If a creature uses a skill, doesn't necessarily mean you have to capture it there and then.
If anything, its probably a mistake in the guide.

Odd that.
But just because ArenaNet put an Elite on a non-capturable boss doesn't make them dumb, does it? Not sure it isn't Gameamp in error here.
Btw, there seems to be a capture option missing.
The most reliable location to get Barrage, that I know of is the mission Iron Mines of Moladrune. The End Boss, forgot his name, has it. If you kill him beofre finishing of the Jades you can capture it. That's how I got it anyway.

Yea, you can get the Elite Skill Barrage for Markis on the Iron Mines of Moladune. Just make sure that your team your with lets you capture the skill before they kill the last of the Jade Armors, because that will trigger the cutscene and you can't capture the skill. This happened to me twice on this mission, so run in a do it right after he dies.

But also when i fought Valtaaw Doomtooth he used barrage so I dont think it's a glitch in the guide

+5 for Derek, he's right on. I captured it from Markis as well. Just hope that there's still at least 1 baddie left after he goes down so you have time to cap it. If yo go to the Elite skills link over on the left <--- and click on the Iron Mines mission it will show that Markis has it.

If you read and dont jump to conclusions,it never says it can be captured form him. It only states he is an enemy who uses it. I myself had the same question after reading his name in a friends startagy guide.

yeah i found a similar thing with the skill hundread blades...it says you can get it from bonneti....so i went and killed him and when i capped it wasnt there...maybe you have to cap it in early stages or something?

Actually ive been told at one time you could cap it from him but i am to understand that now undead rurik is the only place you can cap it now.
