There are a couple things that I am hoping for in Chapter 2
Before you say or think anything i love Guild Wars the way it is, but like every game, it can use improvement. These are just my opinions on what would improve the game the most.
- Mount / Changes to the Pet System-I would hope that all classes would be able to get a mount of some sort, and I would for the mounts to have different attributes. For instance, a mount that increases your speed, or a mount which attacks with you, but decreases your speed.
-I also think that if every class can get a mount it would only be fair to allow ranger classes to have 2 pets and a mount. Also I think it would add to the ranger class if they could use their mount and another pet at the same time.
- Dual Wielding
I would love to have dual wielding for warrior classes. Two swords, two axes, or possibly even two shields. This would be a great improvement and add more strategy and originality to the warrior classes. The only problem with dual wielding is that it might be unfair to other classes.
- More Accessories / Tradable + Wearable Items
It would also add more to the game if you could have more items that you could wear. I don’t like the aspect of how armor cannot be worn by other people, so I would hope that any new, wearable items, such as necklaces and rings would be tradable.
- Random Quest Generator
I have put quite a bit of thought into developing this idea. Once you have done all the missions in the game or just stopped doing the missions I think it would be really nice if you could get randomly generated missions to get some gold. What I am thinking is having a NPC in every town, or only select ones. When you talk to this NPC he would give you a list of quests. These quests would have no reward except for gold. There would be 3 types of missions, which would be generated randomly. So, if you don’t like the choices of missions which the NPC gives you, you can just exit the window and re-open it, and there will be 10 or so different missions.
Types of Quest
- Escort - You would have to guide and guard a NPC or a party of NPC to another location, the farther the distance the more gold as a reward.
- Eliminate - You would have to eliminate a group or boss of enemies that have been bothering the locals in the area. These would give more gold depending on the amount of enemies, the types of enemies, and how many bosses there are.
- Locate - This would involve locating an item in a certain area. You would either have to kill an enemy to get it, talk to an NPC in the area to get it, or find it on the ground or in a chest
These are just what i would like to see. If you have your own ideas on what you want to see feel free to post them too.

I would like to see an additional character or two.
Expanded storage.
New Skills and Elite skils.
The dual weild has been talked about alot on this forum and IMHO is a good idea.
I would like to see two handed swords or axes and perhaps a spear/pike/hailbred class.
Also I think that it would be really cool to add races to the mix: Ogre, Dwarf, Giant, Elf, Human who could also be mixed: Ogre/Human or Elf/Hunam...
It would also be neat if the different races were better at certain skills.
There's my 2 bits for now.

I know how you feel about more weapons for warriors and such, but we need to think about keeping the other classes fair. Warriors do need to be more unique but so do the other classes. So if you add pikes or something to warriors your going to need to add a another element or something. Ya know

Currently E's have Earth, Air, Fire and Water the fifth element would then be Plasma.

Wouldn't that be a combination of earth and fire o.O?
I'd like to see them allowing 10 skills and allowing 2 elites, but only if you're second elite isn't from you're primary class. This would open up many skill combinations.

I dont mean a fifth element necessaraly i just mean that the more people want things for warriors (dual wielding and new weapon classes etc.) the more unfair it will be towards the other classes

I'd like to see more things for mesmers first, seeing as how IMO that's the proffesion that you see the least off.
Whatever you're doing, whenever and wherever, you wont have much trouble finding a warrior, but finding a mesmer or ranger that didn't just get there by dumb luck will be really hard.

Some good ideas in here. The quest thing would be really nice. To avoid major exploit, have it really small exp reward.
Some of the stuff mentioned, like more characters, we all want it. Most people have already run out of room and some have had to delete characters. THIS SHOULD NOT BE!
I believe there was some mention of more wearables. I look forward to seeing what sort of things we get.
Something I personally would look forward to is more dye colors. Just 1 or 2. Like gold, which despite having many ways of getting a gold-ish color, most don't really look like gold.
One thing I wonder about is the new land area. Is it really going to be new areas or are they filling in some of the un-used space on the current map? As others may have noticed, there's quite a number of areas on the map that are empty.
Also, the evil level cap. It has it's use, but we have to worry. If they continue to increase the level of the mobs (which have already gone past 20), they will need to increase our level cap. If they don't make the creatures and NPCs any higher, then never mind. But it's something to think about.

as for rangers and mesmers not getting to the war camp... i think its possibly because they are too busy owning people like me in the pvp arena. alltho i agreee i rarely see many mes the later i get in the game i think its because its just not as popular as the other classes.
what would i like to see in the next release...
hmm let me think bigger battles craftable sheilds, focus and wands. auction houses. guild storage and tho this one i dont think i will ever see weapons merchants who sell only what wepons people sell them.
id like to see treasure chests that dont move around on me.
Where i see fow and uw in the temple id like a place like those for every char. each with a set of armor.
it would be nice to have mounts. like the leader of the stone summit has a lizard or maybee a yak.

Immobile treasure chests are really easy to send a runner bot after.

Why not just a pet which doubles as a mount? the idea you propose would give the ranger 3 animals to look after! Just think of the cost of upkeep. Besides, I think it would be fun to rush into battle on a pig, lizard or spider (which are smallest of the available pets) and as mounts won't require a skill slot, it can be optional weither to use it for beast mastery in addition to transport.
Warrior duel wielding can be a cosmetic change which does not affect other classes in that wileding 2 weapons would deliver the same damage output as wielding a single weapon.I disagree with duel shields though as I think that would look quite rediculous.
Quest lists from NPC's is an excellent idea but I would extend it to more than a single NPC in specified outposts purely for RPG value. The quests types (location, exploration, escourt etc) can be divided between various NPC's to provide more interaction.

I also like the idea of additional wearable items. Earings, rings, amulets. They don't even have to be huge just add a few minor bonuses.
I think the skill slots should be increased by 1 to 9.
dual wield would be awesome for warriors, but they would have to think of some serious ways to twink the other characters to keep everything even.
I would like to see more in depth quests as well. The majority of the quests are very straight foward. I would like to see longer quests that require more time, but provide you with better rewards. Much like the idea of quests with the NPC's.
Also how about some 1 on 1 pvp?

Dual wielding would have to do more dmg, otherwise there would be no point. And if mounts double as pets then it wouldnt be fair that any class could have a mount if its the same as a pet, so i was trying to make it fair for all the classes.
Also i really am hoping for 1v1 i guess i forgot to mention that

Personally, I would prefer making dragons as mounts and not being able to use them in pvp, but to mount on your pet would be a pretty good idea. Although, I don't agree with the part where EVERY profession should have a mount. I only think Rangers should have mounts because they're the only ones with pets.

Great idea! I would LOVE my tank to carry 2 Razorstones! Add Cyclone Axe to it and UBER AWESOME! O_o Although, to make it fare all you would have to do is implement this system for everyone. That means make everyone able to carry two of anything. Think about an ele with a fire wand in one hand and an earth wand in the other and when he/she wants to switch, he/she switches to an air wand in one hand and a water wand in the other.

Guild Wars already said they're not going to produce Elves since they're used too much in other games. The only thing you can ask then is, "Isn't Dwarves used a lot in other games too?"

Haven't you guys seen The Fifth Element? Ya know, tha movie with Milla Jovovich plays as Leeloo & Bruce Willis plays as Korben Dallas? I know EVERYONE's seen or heard of Captain Planet and the Planeteers! ^_^
The Fifth Element is LOVE!
Watch an ele use:
Attract: Target becomes distracted by your beauty and can only attack you.
Big Hug: Hugs the opponent with open arms. Causes target to run away because he either thinks you're gay or is afraid of commitment.
Sexual Healing: No comment.
The biggest thing I want to see is 1 vs. 1 pvp which has already been said will be in chapter 2. ^_^
Well, I one time wanted to have the lowest credibility on guildwars.gameamp and went almost to -200 in credit, but in the end decided to change my ways and have positive credit instead.

Dual Wielding is a good idea but to balance it somewhat I think the off-hand weapon would recieve a dmg penalty, like in KOTOR(1 and 2).
Sure Dwarves are used in almost every fantasy book, game , etc., but they usually don't play as much of a prominent role as elves in the story lines.
As I mentioned in another thread, I'd like to be able to choose your charcters handedness, sure its a small thing, but it adds just a little bit mor uniqueness.
Also maybe the ablitiy to customize the apperence of your armor besides just dying it, you know, like having each armor set have different style variations availible.
I'm not so sure on the mounts, they sound kind of like pets.
It goes without saying that there needs/should be more skills and character spaces.
As for increasing the skill slot number, I'm not sure if it should be done. 8 skills keeps things intersting by forcing you to make choices, what challenge would anything be if you had 15 skills eqipped?
Seriously, can no one guess the name of the mech I use as an avatar?
Final Hint: It is a Clan Mech, Assault class, the name begins with a 'W' and ends in a 'G', its name is also a type pet in Guild Wars.

The KotOR games used a modified version of the AD&D 3rd Edition rules. The proficiency requirements and penalties are AD&D rules directly. I'm not sure how one would adapt that to GW, but I have no problem with it...
I do think it would be cool to make your appearance more customizable, and the quest idea is cool. I don't really see the point of mounts, but that's me. I do think they should make pets more widely used...obviously something about them steers people away. I think they chose 8 skill slots specifically to force you to make sacrifices when creating a build. I really don't think that will change. I won't go into the level cap issue. :s
I'm for anything they'll do...they've done a good job so far. As long as they don't cater too much to the whiners and make the game too easy I'll be fine with it. =P

When I first chose the Monk proffesion, I thought it was a martial artist monk, not a healer, so they could revert that back, making already monks into Clerics or priests or even popes, LOL. And make the monk a martial artist, OR having an actual martial artist proffesion. That would rock.
I would name my char, Jackie Lee or Bruce Chan, or Jet Lee...errr.....

I would really like to see the option of having a mount in game too, but I think that they should be bought from the Tamer Npc and should cost a lot of money as they would probably give the player a big advantage over non-mounted characters.

I want the option to decorate the guild hall with various things, make the hall unique to your guild and such. I was hoping those blank flags in the hall at least display the same emblem on your cape.

My suggestions for the new chapter would be: MORE armor :D
not enough choice... these days i see every1 walking arrounr with the same armor i have and the same Rago's Flame Staff...
and yeah i agree with the Mesmer in SF part.
well... it starts with not many ppl making roll playing mesmer, mesmers u will find in pvp are mostly pvp only chars (but thats not the point xD )
more and more (in)experienced players blackout mesmers out of the SF farming/questing picture and thats really unfair =/
well the only way i could think of getting mesmers into SF is by them being fast casting echo nukers perhaps...
but i think this "echo" nuking is spoiling ppls minds... not so long ago i heard some1 spam this in tombs: "Triple echo nuker looking for team" and im like wtf? 3 well timed distraction shots would leave him with an uber exhaustion and totally useless, besides... AOE skills like meteor showers can easly be avoided in pvp (but again thats not the point! xD)
Second suggestion would be: idd more items, weapons, more quests, more explorable areas.
and btw i dont think that dual wielding idea is that good (just my opnion)... warriors are pretty hacked as it is, let alone the number of warriors pilling up on a monk.
here's a small example: iway teams often go for monks first, meaning u as a monk would have an entire iway team of 6 iway warriors on u, and my point is simple: not every1 can take 6 iway warriors let alone if they would have a dual wielding option, but yeah wards could be an option =/ but my point is that those gw professions should stay balanced.
now that more and more players start playing pvp, im sure anet would do something about pvp in general such as new areas in the tombs where u fight, more game options other then Search and Destroy/team death match and capture the flag/relic.
third Suggestion would be: more options for the guild hall... oh i see decorating it has allready been mentioned :) ... well another great feature would be, a guild hall storage ( a little like the normal xul... storage but then for the entire guild)
oh yeah sinds we r talking about storages, might aswell increase the capacity of 1 sinds all your chars have to use the same 30 slot storage.
more suggestions to come, my advice for anet... Listen to the Gw community! :D

IMO one of the best additions they could make is an "Armor Emblemer". Similar to the Guild Emblemer, but instead you would be able to choose background and forground patterns and colors of your armor. Maybe even small decals that match your current guild capes. Would make armor much more unique to each person. But instead of having a set price for any color, maybe you can give the emblemer the dyes you want to be used on your armor, and then customize the mixing so that you get the rite hue that you are looking for. Just a thought.

We need a guild storge and more players and more things in new Chapter 2.

But instead of having a set price for any color, maybe you can give the emblemer the dyes you want to be used on your armor, and then customize the mixing so that you get the rite hue that you are looking for. Just a thought. |
