Is anyone downloading that HUGE patch for CoH? Its taking a long time to download a gig at 31.5k a sec its slow downloading stuff off of CoH. Does anyone know what this patch is for anyways?

Is it the one that begins right after you exit the game? If so, that is the pre-download of Issue 6. They do a pre-download so that when the new content actually goes live, you can sit down and play the game right away instead of having to wait for a huge download. If you want to do something else and the download is interfering, you can just push the 'QUIT' button. Your progress will be saved and the download will resume next time right where you left off.

Hey dogg basically its for when CoV is launched, imagine its so we get all the extras that have been added to CoV like base building and stuff plus a fantastico enhancement nerfing (which i dont think is gonna be that bad but then i aint a blaster)

I've tried consolidating all we have into 3 threads in the Announcements forum. They all have Issue 6 in the topic names and they're all "Stickied". One is the concrete numbers for Enhancement Diversification, another is about the Free Respec that we'll be getting, and the last is a Summary of the changes.

That's what I do, even with "extreme" broadband (That's what Road Runner call the higher then high speed connect) This down load still took almost 14 hours...I just turned my monitor off, and went to bed, and by the time I got up and left for work it was done.

Or do like I did. I got one of my friends with DSL to do the download, then burn me a DVD of the updated files. Worked like a charm. :-p
Cursed dialup... Grrr...

Yeah good idea of the friend. I have "regular" roadrunner and can run COV beta and COH while my kids play tood disney and such, but was only getting like 56-65/sec took 2 nights (first night D/L froze) but no big loss since i let it update overnight.
