Social need of the tank.

I was just pondering the current situation in the tombs with all the IWAY groups. I came to the realization that our recent increase of IWAY's maybe a product of society.

We all know that people with like insterests tend to group together. Take high school for instance. You see all the jocks stickin together, the band geeks, the kids in metalshop, CAD, and the ones that everybody picks on.

The tanks are not unlike those kids in school that everyone picks on. Look through these forums and you will find lots of posts complaining about the tank's urge to rush off and kill kill kill. Well, it has occurred to me that the IWAY is a direct result of the tanks lack of social acceptance.

When the tank finds out that he is not wanted, the inital reaction is to go solo. There are some that make it solo and consequently become rich and famous through their skills. Others aren't quite so lucky. After taking many beatings from hostiles he realizes that alone is not the way it was meant to be. So, he looks to his fellow tanks. Thus becomes the bane that is the IWAY.

So, next time you feel the need to give your tank a good tongue lashing, instead give him a hug and tell him it will be ok. You may just prevent the next IWAY group from takin the Hall of Heros.

Sheesh, put more flaws in your topics! Like, for example, put a blatant flame or biased thought! We need to make these forums more lively and making a well thought out and written topic is not the way to do it ;)

I think if anyone was a social outcast it would be rangers or mesmers. When i tried to get groups with them it would take for ever and well tanks are needed to keep monsters off casters so they can find groups rather easily

Re: Social need of the tank.

Ah well I don't know... maybe it's more divided:
The outcast may spred into two groups maybe, the one with tank characters, the others with model-like female Elementalists with this ... well... strange dance, showing off how beatiful they are inside, represented by their visual beautiful characters.

:P

(Did I mention I have two chars: A female air elementalist, and a female warrior tank? ;D )

Re: Social need of the tank.

it's ture that rangers are on the whole the outcasts. The only time the are accepted is when there is a trapper team or ranger spiker team being made, i suppose it's the same as with the tanks and the iway build, rangers sticking with rangers.

Re: Social need of the tank.

@blackphoenix, are those thoughts from a view of outside looking in or inside looking out with a call for help lol

Things and people are mostly grouped by those looking on, so in a statement of "sheesh, I give up" alot end up falling into the grouping of the onlooker. Meeting in groups for the "well here I fit in" feeling most of these people start to show signs of the mould they are in.

Some will take the outcast role, even if it does not fit them as a person (always at least one outside the mould).

Many of those who take warrior as their main class like to be the leader, so in this way the IWAY team becomes all leader team. So is it a hug they are after or the hero worship the myth warriors get?
