The Materials Collector outside Sardelac Sanitarium
Trades 5 planks of wood +20 gold =1 Parchment
Wood are about 9 gold each
9x5 = 45 gold + 20 = 65 gold
Parchment are about 95 gold each [roughly]
You make 30 gold profit
You can buy the wood cheap and make alot of profit buy selling the parchment

alot of the clever people allready know this and alos do it on the other rare materials u can craft that are going for more than wot they cost u

That is the beauty of having a fluctuating economy in the game. You can buy items and sell them back at a profit after putting some work into having it crafted. Once too many people start doing this the prices will drop till it isn't so profitable. Then people will quit for a while and the prices will go back up. It's a never ending cycle and much more like the way things actually work in real life.

usefull info there. also char hides are valuable if you take them to the collector in ascelon and swap them for fur squares at the collector last i looked they sold to the rare material trader for 200 gold.

Fur..dont think theres too much benefit out that, its like 40-50g per charr hide and takes 4 so...180-200=20$ WooT!

I was surprised on how many players didn't know about this. Lots of new comers who still don't quite understand the game, don't get the trading system and the armor. It's probably only because they don't want to read there guide. I've spents lots of time helping out random players understand the gw trading/armor system :)
I hope more people actually see this thread cause when you start your very first character it's hard to make money! lol

they must be reading your posts lol the crafter outside yaks bend no longer supplies parch...
i havent checked but im guessing they just nerfed the one bit of farming that wasnt localised to one part of the map.
perhaps the place outside sardilacs has remained ok i will check but knowing guildwars...
edit : lol the place outside sanctum still has parch :/ well i can relax now
edit edit : char hides are free btw if you went around buying the char hides then of course you wont make a profit... 4 free char hides = 200g porofit sounds better

Yeah, buying them puts you in the whole, but farming at Flame Temple Corridor puts you way out in front, usually get 10 to 15 hides per trip.

If you are farming all the way up there then make it worth the effort and pop into Dragons Gullet (enter behind charr alter) and back again to reset the Temple area and grab those extra hides :)
