First-hand I6 Impressions

Now that you've actually played on a live server, what's good or bad?

Good: Enhancement Update help
New Store inventories

Bad: New zones not on the maps!
LAG!!! I finally saw the Ghost Ship in Talos and the servers shut down due to lag!
BUGS!!! I had SIX (6) SIX! missions fail to complete due to bugs in a 4 hour span. GM's took on average 2 hours to respond, if at all. These were not new missions either, but old ones in old arcs. No excuse.

Whatever: ED. Prepared for it, only a slight noticable effect,
Badges. No Challenge.
New Graphics. So what?
New map icons and interfaces. Big Deal
Everything else.

having to watch updater scroll throug dozens of connections, annoying and time consuming.

used fear on a pair of LTs 1 hit about 75%. BIG nerf. about to test more with Doc, but so far i'm thinking this weekend i'll decide if I'm gonna pick up COV or drop COH.

30, but I never slotted anything with more than 3 same-type enhancements anyway.

I ran several mishes and did not notice too much of a diffrence. I changed a few slots and added a few new powers and went on my heroic way. Maybe it was just me and my good fortune.

As for the lag I turned down the world details and had little problem with it.

So far so good......

Yes, please do look at the map. If you look at the CITY MAP you'll notice that Warburg and Bloody Bay ARE NOT ON THE CITY MAP. So, if you get a mission in either location and aren't on a forum to find the helpful notes, YOU WON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO!!! Be prepared for hundreds of "Where is Warburg?" spams because the Devs overlooked this itty-bitty item.

Yes, so much lag that the servers shut down while there were only 1/20th the number of players on my server that there typically are. This wasn't "Wow, this is a lot of people lag", it was "Wow, these 3 2.4GB patches really screwed up gameplay" lag.

I've got no gripe with the GM's. I do have a gripe with I6 ruining 6 missions and wasting hours of time when NONE of my ruined content was directly related to I6.

I got over ED within 10 minutes of trying it out. I still have absolutely no problem in the world with endurance, my health regen is still great. The attacks were a bit weird, thunder kick seemed to do alot less dmg, which was expected, but even more so than the others. With only 3 socketing my regens and recovs and hasten, I got to 6 socket eagles claw, which does incredible dmg. All my attacks have 3 dmg, 1 acc, 1 end reduce, and 1 recharge reduce. I 3 socketed tough, weave, combat jump and resilence. I think I might even be better now, although I did die in the lvl 30 pvp zone, but thats because i thought the 20 people following me to all the hotzones were right behind me, turns out they werent... Now the only problem is I have nothing to do with my slots next lvl, I will be putting 1 into integration, making that have 4, and 2 in to super speed?! Ill most likely dump a couple of slots into super jump as well. And as for perma hasten, well its not permanent any more, but with 3 sos, theres only about a 15 second interval between stop time and activation. I stated this about 5 times in the official ED thread, "Lets try this out BEFORE we go and cancel our subscriptions." Now I know this made alot of people alot worse, but for me, it turned out beter.

As for some negative things, Miss is right, War bug is definitly not on teh city map. The pvp zone I was in, lvl 30 one, I left after a while because 30 heros and 100 baddies and allies all fighting means you get about 1 frame per 5 seconds. However I didnt experience any bugs or lag outside of the pvp zone. But I cant believe they still havent fixed my damn costume problem.

PS: Im at the annoying +1 and +2 lvls above your last huge enhancement purchase stage, so all my enhancments are not as good as they will be.

ok i just got back from work and have finished respecing my heroes, and i have to say based on a quick hunt and test it may actually not be that bad, ED may not be that bad lol never thought i would type that let alone this. "it may actually have helped me a little.

ok new zones us poor brits have only had I6 on test for a few dasy but i have had a little look around the pvp maps. so far im in two minds about them, about the pvp griefing i dont think people have a right to complain about being atacked in open pvp zones, just accept it or dont go in there its that simple. i dont like the fact that you are lvl 38 reguardless of your lvl when your there. it just seems to fair to me. it would have neem fun to gang up on some lvl 50 tanks.

new villains are cool, but again with the auto exemp system in the new zones they are really hard, esp some of the new bosses.

bugs i have not had time to find any, but if you ask me this new issue has gone up months earlier than it should have i dont care how long they been secretly working on it, i think its too soon,

the very fact that it took the euro test server down for 4 days and despite the fact we all downloaded the I6 patch ages ago only to find out its broken. lol ok so we had a fix but still its not a good sign. each new issue has come loaded with bugs and this is gonna be worse than I4. do you remember the mission select button bug, that was annoying.

new trade window woohoo, gonna make inf transfers so much better. and also pay out in cossy comps. i like the upgrades to enhancement screen also.

drop down boxes on cossy creater. o like. what are all these gladiator unlocked i got when i logged on, they are in the badges window but you cant select them. is it this new arena pet pokemon fighting thing?

thats about it for now, i think i like it so far but will have to do some missions before i decide if ED has made me stronger or weaker.

So far my experience with ED has been terrible, but it's to early to cancel my account. Nice how ED went live around same time COV goes live so in order to test it i have to give up COV time, the timing at least sucks.

OK, I played a bit last night and overall thought it was good. Better graphics (though I had to turn bloom and water effects down otherwise I was a little laggy). I like how the enhancement screen shows the actual % benefit you are getting from your enh's. I also like that I could make it stop asking me "are you sure?" everytime I try to delete or place an enhancement.

And I liked the new zones. I explored Sirens Call for a bit -- those hot spot fights were really fun. I got 100 bounty during my short time there -- what do I do with that, anyone know? Took me forever to find Warburg though -- not exactly obvious that you have to go to the roof of the police station in KR and click on a chopper pilot.

Overall, I liked it. I did about 4 missions and had no bugs or other issues.

Warburg is on the map, but they messed up in it's implementation.

At the default zoom level, the red dot for the helo to Warburg is not visible. It's somewhere in that jumble around Blue Steel and the Base Portal.

If you zoom in on the map in that area, the dots will seperate, and you'll be able to see the waypoint.

So it's there, but it's also not there. Must be a Zen zone. :) Very poor work by the devs, in any case.

i had little lag and i have not fixed my pwrs but they still work well no complaints here I hope yal all get over the patch and realize they are tring to make the GAME better all around yes bugs need to be worked out but who is perfect?

ED hasn't really had much of an impact on my attack powers or bubbles yet...but it HAS affected Hasten, which I had six-slotted like everyone and their brother, it takes MUCH longer to recharge now and is no longer "perma-hasten", which is good I suppose, it means I have to manage better.

I didn't get much lag last night to be honest, except when zoning where I would DC...but I had a tremendous amount of lag on the end of Beta event, especially when using Teleport.

Haven't been to the new zones yet, will let you know as that progresses.

Okay...ED still pisses me off. Some of Brightside's powers that were once perma now take over a minute between de-activation and re-activation (that's with Hasten or Accelerate Metabolism working at all times). I haven't tested Indomitable Will yet, but before ED, it took over a minute to recharge after de-activation. The power is probably useless now.

Here's something - Why make it possible to type in the amount of influence that you can transfer if you leave the possible amount traded the same? I was trying to give one of my lowbie friends a quick mil, and I was all excited about the new trade screen. I quickly realized that it's much like the old one. It still only has 5 possible slots for you to type in an amount. Good work on that one, Devs. :P

Siren's Call is crazy fun. If you haven't been there yet, I suggest you check it out. It was a great time. Teams form and run from hot spot to hot spot taking down huge groups of Arachnos baddies. It's like an all-out war...Which is obviously out of control. :)

Finally, if I see one more person get rowdy on this thread, I'll lock it down. You cats know the rules. THERE ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS ON GAMEAMP!!!!! If someone asks something or suggests something that you already know the answer to, then feel free to submit the information...But do it in a respectful manner. You can have disagreements and even use QUOTE to emphasize something that someone else said, but don't make it look like you're trying to degrade someone. Play nice, fellas, or I'll send Warshadow in here to clean up. :)

Update I6; I like it. 3 new zones, sure they are PvP but you can still hunt in the zones. It adds a bit of danger to hunting. Being able to be attack from no where just gives that lil bit of caution to make things interesting.

PvP is something I love from WoW and have been waiting for it to come to CoH. Finally it has arrived so now I can get my chance to battle friends and villains alike (not in those damn arenas).

Graphic updates are always nice, gives new looks even small as they may come. ED, dont care! Play with what I was given. I like the SG changes/updates and not to forgot if you have CoV we get SG bases which means just about anyone will be able to access!

All and all I am cool with it.

SIDENOTE: Play nice or we shall have to call thejeni down from her throne. Damn it I dont want to bother the High Queen, she is right nasty sometimes and you dont want that!

what what what, see i never actually got round to testing the new trade screen, your telling me you can only still do 99999 thats fing stupid, why even bother. so much for fast inf transfer.also uk servers have been down since i woke up, something to do with cov but that was supposed to be done yesterday. also they screwed up our patch dont know about yours, basically even if you pre downloaded the I6 content if you had not been on cov or test server you had to download it again., even if you had it still ment a little copying had to be done. grrr devs, they are doing my head in.

I think I'll spend some time in Siren's Call, I agree, the huge fights were pretty cool. And there are a lot of Warriors in there - I can make headway on my warrior boss badge and actually gain some xp rather than just mowing them down in Striga. Now if they only had Family bosses there...

As for the other two, which strike me as even *more* of a free for all, I'm not so sure. Though all of this probably has made up my mind about picking up another power pool in the higher levels - gotta go for some stealth. No question.

I wont get over detailed here but ED is OK with me.
Much better than my experience with CoV thus far.
One of these updates each few months would have mace a whole lot more sense than I5, I6ed, CoV all in a 2 month gap.

Sirens Call - I'm there, will be quite a bit I think.

Lag - almost none on my end at 11pEST Virtue but I could tell others were lagging or were trying to mate with buildings so maybe the new effects and volume of critters on the screen are just pushing their connection or PC too hard??? I have 3.8GHz w/800KB connection 8xAGP-64MB.

Cool new things with the Super Group, collectibles (no idea what to do with a "Fir Bolg Hand" but its mine all mine ha ha ha

New is that I get some endurance from what I drain from enemies - this was not part of the original powers description but it apears any power that drawins endur now gives some of it to the caster.

More thoughts later - please express yours.

Even post respec Warrior Omega is borked to the point where if he wasn't my first toon I'd delete him, damage is waaaaay down, ability to heal is waaaaay down, kinda negates the whole point when I have to have an empath with me to heal in addition to my own powers.

Apart from the reduced effectiveness of bubbles will have on Shield unit when I get him to lvl 22 my other characters are more or less unscathed.

And it won't bother me with them because I'll never know how effective they would be, but Omega is borked.

Good job starting monday the majority of my little playtime moves to CoV anyway.

I havn't played long enough to know what other nerfs the devs have done, but I can say something about this one. My tankers defense has dropped dramatically and for some reason it's not up to par with my other enchancments. I have one S.O. in some of my other enchancments and it's like 33. somthing but on my defensive powers it the S.O. only increases it by 28. something or other. What is the deal and why is it just doing this on my defensive powers and not any of the others.
