The Mad King's Arrival is... when??

If you've been playing recently, and I mean REALLY recently, you might have noticed that NO ONE has any real clue as to when the Mad King will arrive in Kryta. I've seen naked dancers in the glowing circle, "oracles" prophesizing the end of our play session by forced restart, and other nonsensicle things. Whats more, there are three more rumours of what's going on every twenty seconds!

Does anyone have an educated guess as to when the fun begins in earnest as the Mad King arrives?

Welcome to our little community ArchangelsBlade :-)
Most NPC-based prophecies concentrate around the Mad King comming tonight, on Halloween's eve. I have no idea however if this will mean seperate time slots for the diferent area's (US/Korea/EU) or if tonight means Seven o'clock sharp, ninish or around midnight.

I'd completely disregard anything said by fellow players at this point as there seem to be a rather large lot of people getting kicks out of uttering total bogus, completely unfounded on anything substantial. That's ok, sometimes even funny, just don't believe it :-)

The mad knig comes every 3 hours so hel be back at 9 oclock and again at midnight but i think thats for today only(halloween) all you have to do is stand in fromt of him and do what he says and youl gel osme stuff and at the end youl get a pumpkin helmet

Yeah ... he plays rock-paper-scissors with random people, tells jokes, orders people to do things and if you lose, fail to laugh or don't do what is requested you die (for a short while). Otherwise you get trinkets. Before leaving he plays 'Simon says' with everybody and gives pumpkin helmets (you can even put a rune in it :)

It's a riotously funny thing and shows how much work the good guys and gals at Anet are doing for the benefit of the community. I guess that I'll start sending them love letters. The whole attitude is so pro-gamer.

Just log in and head for the big pot in Lion's Arch. There'll be a crowd waiting in the ring of glowing flowers. The Mad King will appear in front of the pot.

Commands you'll need:

/laugh
/beg
/guitar (or some other instrument)
/dance
/bow
/paper /rock /scissors
/goteam
/jump
/roar
/flex

and probably some others that I forgot but don't get disappointed if you fail occasionally (you'll need to type quite fast) ... everybody will eventually get a pumpkin.

Stupid.

Whenever someone dies at the Simon says game people start shouting out "NOOBS!!!" "YOU SUCK!!!" "IDIOTS!!" and stuff. Thats really not fair. It caught me out too, but I bet they're bigger noobs than I am. Everyone on their first turn will probably make that mistake.

This could be classes as a spolier, I made it really small so people dont accidentally look at it when they dont want to :D

Only use a command when he says \"Mad King Says:\" otherwise you will die. He catches ALOT of people out by doing this.

I managed to pull through with next to no deaths. Silly Ranger isn't kidding when he says that the Simon Says bit can be tricky. You have to be fast, it seems.

When you finish up, you should have a lot of Hollowe'en items. Oh, and one of those pretty swanky pumpkin heads.

I hope I get to keep that.

I managed to get through the Mad King's visit with only one death, and it wasn't on "Mad King Says." The visit was lots of fun, I thought ^_^.

On a side note, he is supposed to be appearing again at 3:00pm Pacific time, which is 3 hours after his initial appearance.

The best part of his vist was when I noticed that there were more than 70 American Lion's Arch districts. I think that the entire population of the American servers was probably there!

I mean, geez, people! That's insane!

The same items you get from the collectors. Someone however was saying they got a hammer or somehthing. Allthough im sure this was a blatent lie being that he wouldnt show it to anyone.

uhm 300k would be impossible. you can only hold 100 plat at a time, what does he wait for you to go to storage, or give you 20 ecto? i doubt it.

When i was there, there was over 160+ american districts in LA. Someone from my guild even got to play rock paper scissors against him, but i think he might've been afk at the time :P so needless to say, he died. You can't be mad at Anet now from nerfing skills and farming spots after they do something this huge throughout the whole weekend. The decorations were awesome, and the Mad King thing was fun nonetheless.

all the halloween items are here to stay its just the collectors and the mad king and the halloween effects that will go and i know this becuase a arenanet game master was on early this morning in lions arch and she was only lvl 1!!!!! and she said all the items are goin to stay
P.S here name was gaile grey and then wot ever area u are in (europe/korea/usa) and she was talking like the frog and all (she was also speaking in riddles like the frog).

I seriously dont know how you can die at Mad King Says. I also managed to get through with at most 3 deaths so far (done it twice) and it was because of commands i didn't know. I died on /goteam,/agree, and one other. But i never died on Mad King Says. Simon says is a game you learn in the first grade and if you dont know how to play i strongly suggest going back to first grade. XD Im totally stocking up on all this halloween stuff and i have two pumpkin heads with the same character (what ill do with the secound one i dont know).

My only problem with this is the way some people handle it. People will be there and just complain the entire time. Its like if you dont want to be here then leave, "But i want the pumpkin head." Then you just have the idiots and little kids that are there who handle it the way they handle the frog. With excessive stupid comments and disrespect. Im glad Arnet did it but some people dont deserve the privlage.

After waiting for more than 6 hours (not entirely consecutive), I've finally got my pumpkin head! :)

Apart from the expected immature comments that slightly ruin the mood, e.g. "U SUX KING!", the event was actually very entertaining to me, the Mad King was hilarious, even the jokes are *gasp* funny(!) (though I do laugh quite easily, especially at the corpse of the Krytan thingy).

The overall set up was hilarious, at least for me, being myself at 4 AM in the morning (it was like being drunk, without the hangover).

In the end, it was worth waiting that long (though the timing could use a bit o' improvement), if not for just the pumpkin head :)

The best way to do it in my mind is to go into your chat box (` key, next to the 1) and turn off all the chats except for team and maybe guild. This makes it so that you don't have to see any of the annoying, stupid comments that impatient, annoying, stupid people might make and can concentrate on the Mad King's "wisdom."

i did Rock paper.. w/ king in Dist. 181 and it was full of ignorant ppl, I got paper n king beat me and than i hear tons of n00bs/ OWNED!!..etc...kind of hard not to be new when its my 1st time. owell i got my crown :D

I met him twice today, I might say that I love The Mad King :P . LOL. He was hilarious!. Got 2 pumpkin heads, I wonder if you can keep them after Halloween cause I can see people wear the pumpkin crown in towns for a long time, LOL. I would wear it and never take it off, and I mean it :P .

I hope ANET can do something like this for christmas, having santa talk to us and giving us presents or something LOL. And see little elves running around, and we squashing their heads on the ground. I might ask the mighty frog when I see him alive.
