Hey there, I've had ton's of debates on what the Alliance new race would be. If anyone would like to post their ideas then please do so!
(My guess would be the day elves, like-rangers from Lord of the Rings and Warcraft 2)

No way that would mean there would be 3 Elf Races, i think it would be something like a tauren.

Perhaps, but that can't be because the stupid Horde get the Blood Elves, and Tauren would just give them more.... 3 elven races would be sort of tacky once I think about it, PERHAPS there's a race for the Alliance with some of the outworld races, or maybe not, damn you Blizzard suspense is killing me x)

It is going to be a race that already exists in Warcraft lore, not some "day elves." Since there are not three races of elf in Azeroth, that is out of the question.
As for something like Taurens... no. Nothing else like giant, humanoid cows exist.
Something from Outworld is possible, working in the storyline to let them have a starting area in Azeroth might be difficult. If it is to be an Outworld race, I see it being the Dranei.
Chris Metzen has said that it will definetly not be the pandaren.

Ok, so far there are, Goblins, Dranei, or Panda's. Well, over the past week I have heard ton's of people talking about the Pandaren, but I don't see how that would make any sense or fit in with the game, oh and to add on to the Panda theme, "a new tradeskill called brewmastery". Ok that REALLY seems pointless, but none of us know but them yet right??
The Blood Elves get two racial skills, being their mana casting and their mana aura's. If you go read about it on other websites like Blizzard and BlizzCon stuff, then you will know what I am talking about. Perhaps a race that can counter that....
Dranei is a good guess, considering how they were revolting against the Orc Legion in Outworld, but that doesn't seem right because Outworld is a place for the 60's to level their CAP to 70, so you can't possibly have level 1's-10's running around doing quests, unless the area was huge. To counter that, I guess I could say that Burning Steppes is just above Redridge, so you have a 18-24 place around a 55-60 place, but I would imagine that the new place would be only for us.....
Please keep sending in ideas, it adds to the suspense ^_^

there will never be pandaren. There's no way Blizzard will take that much of a profit cut just cause there's going to be another cute and fuzzy alliance race.

Personaly i have no idea what its gonna but but i can say onething
as in many other games i have played there will be 1000000 of whatever it is when they come out

well i hope its not them becuse thay have alsmot nothing to do with the WC story line.
i dont think this will happen but maby arthus would trun good or maby naga....idk this is just me guessing

Okay, let's see...Panderans, is a definet, NO. Anyone that KNOWS this game well enough, knows that the Panderans are an "easter egg" race. They don't exist in game unless you find their secret hiding spots, or the secret level in Frozen Throne. Which I did, and beat all 30 waves of it too. Gotta love those defense games. Anyway....the Draenei, Naga, and Blood Elves, have sword Allegiance to Illidan...odds are, they won't be helping the humans, since the humans are teamed with the Night Elves, and we all know Illidan and the Naga don't get along with the Night Elves. If Blood Elves are allied to the Horde, then the other 2 wouldn't be allied to the Alliance, that's a certainty. So...what's left for the Alliance? Let's see...Night Elves, Gnomes, Dwarfs, and the Humans them selves...so let's look around for clues left in the games themselves.

I guess the new Alliance race will be the Draenei.... But as someone said the Draenei swore allegiance to the Blood Elves which doesn't fit to together...
But some people say Goblins will be the new race although they actually belong to the Horde.
I'm not sure perhaps we await a surprise.

I'm guessing that the Dranei will be the new Alliance race. Both Dranei and Blood Elves will teach the new jewcrafting profession while the Panderan will become more common NPCs that teach brewmaster profession.

but i thought blizzard wanted to take an existing model from the game, so they didnt have to model the character from scratch
we'll just wait and see

I'm hoping it's the... Er... D people. But maybe the burning legion will have traitors, so we'll get a completely new race? Not likely, but it would be pretty awesome nonetheless.

I'd agree with the others saying the race would have to be already in lore of warcraft and already exist somewhere. So I'd guess logically that it's going to be the Dranei
