don't buy 15k armour

in my opinion people shouldn't buy 15k armour its way too xpensive and it does look cool

Well you are correct, that is your opinion. I love most 15k armor i think they look awsome. i have 15k ascalon armor for my warrior, 15k tattoos for my monk, another set of 15k wanderers armor for the smae monk, 15k nobles armor for my mesmer, and plain droknars armor for my necro. I think they are the coolest looking stuff (15k armor), they give me the "pimp" status jk. If i had saved my money i might have been able to get a few peices of FoW armor but i dont like any of them. so i had to do something with my money :)

Too expensive? No its not. Fissure armor is expensive, but not the citadel/grotto. Its pretty easy to earn 100k or so in a about a week if you farm for a few hours per day. It took me about 2 weeks to get the money for my Warrior 15k platemail and about 4 days to get 125k for My monk 15k/8k armor + Black dyes. Once you play the game long enough you start to learn easy ways to earn money such as farming.

Well, the only 15k armor I have is the gladiators from Marhan's Grotto and of those I only have the gloves and the boots. I thinks the Droknar's chest and um...skirt...whatever you call it piece looks better than the Marhan's. My opinion anyway. I won't buy any unless I like the way it looks. Don't care too much what everyone else thinks.

Since I can't have complete customization of my characters (i.e. can't have the stats and the look I want at the same time), I will at least take what little liberties I can, like mixing set pieces.

I wouldn't say that the 15K armor sets are too expensive.
Even if you don't farm much like me (just Nolani Mission as a kind of solitaire alternative) you can get about two pieces per week, more if you work at it by helping out in Thunderhead Keep and beyond. The drops are much better there than in any farmed-to-death-area.

I'd very much like to be able to afford Fissure armor, but I draw the line at farming more than the occasional hour when I'm thinking something through and need something to do with my hands. So I guess that'll always remain a dream :-/

Having said that, if you don't care (much) about looks, don't go for the 15K armor. It's all up to your own desires and what you enjoy doing in the game :-)

I agree that 15k armor has no real benefit (i.e. armor class and bonuses), but it just looks so cool! If you really love one of your chrs then why not get 15k armor, it's a testament to you skill as a gamer and your love of the game not to mention it's a status symbol lol. FoW would be better but few can afford it. I have 15k hydromancers on my Ele (dyed the gold) but other than that i just have droks on the rest. I just like the way it looks all shinny. lol.

or a testament to your prowess at buying on ebay, or getting drug around and supported by others... i havent had anybody wearing fisure armor or 15k armor, that has impressed me more so than someone wearing draks. Actually, I usually look for ppl NOT wearing fissure armor, not carrying fellblades, dragon swords, or chaos axes.

well i am glad to say ive completed 4 15k armor sets without buying any money anywhere from anyone.(plus its not like i can, i dont have any real money)If only i could transfer fake money into some real stuff, id be RICH!!! lol

I like the look and feel of some 15k armor's but they are expensive, though the prices are nothing compared to Fissure (i still need helm than im done :D)but few people can actualy afford this armor, but still it looks different and some 15k is cooler than others, if you'v worked at it you deserve this armor if you'd like it but Droks is just the same

I think fissures is ugly personally. The only one I think looks ok is the ranger females.

As for the annoyence of someone other than myself buying gold...Well I could care less. Sure they are in way quite possibly messing up the economy. But lets face it. GW is a balanced game. You can get droks armor and a max dam wep just like next guy for a small amount of gold. And in reality there's no point to caring wether or not a fellblade is so valuable. To me its ugly. It shuld be a 2 handed sword. You should be able to dual weild smalle ones and not all staves should be 2 handed. Other than that, if some people want to jack the prices on one perticular style of a weapon i could care less. And being this is really all thats messed up in the economy. It dosent reallyy matter. All its really going to do is lower th eprices on the unwanted weapon styles. Which means my spatha could be exactly lik eyour fellblade. Where as you payed 2786876876k i payed 20. So do I care? Nope. As far as I am concerned. Keep it up.

I agree with RoxAlot on the weapons; no one weapon type looks so much better than any other that it should be worth 10x as much. I also think that 15k armors are sort of pointless, but on the other hand, I like them. They are just another status symbol, and one that people might look at you and say, "hey, cool armor!" about.

On the other hand, I myself have only bought one suit of 15k armor, which was for my war because I didn't like pig-face suit (drok's plate) appearance, then I dyed my brand new Dragon armor black because I thought that it would look badass that way, especially with my previously black-dyed shield and the Fellblade that I had been lucky enough to find.

Exactly! I love my pretty little monk soo much i descided to get a 2nd 15k set :), although i did have to work hard with her to get it.

well i used to think like that. i'd say to myself constaly wow thats stuff way to expensive im not going to waste my time on that... then i beat the game and everthing became dark and cold and lonely. but then a shining hope something for me to strive for again some goal for me to reach and now i have it. (for one char anyway)

so basically my point is it's nice to have a goal like getting 15k armor one day but it definatly shouldn't be one of your highest priorety's

This is my first post so I don't know whether or not I'm even doing it right. I would just like to say that when you are playing the game for the first time that you should try to be as smart about it as you can. I'll admit that I haven't gotten very far yet (Only as far as the Bergen Hot Springs with one character) but it seems to me that expensive armor with the same stats as cheap armor doesn't make sense for a beginner. There is a reason why there are so many bargain basement stores in the world. People like getting more for their money. If you try to sell me 2 pieces of armor with the same stats and say that one of them will cost 3 times as much I'm going to say that you're out of your mind and take the cheap stuff. If it's just as good then why pay extra? Sure after I beat the game once or twice I'll try and get armor that I like the way it looks, but until then I want the best deal I can find. Same goes for weapons, although there are more modifers to consider in that area. But all in all if there is a product out there that does the same thing or more for a cheaper price than that product will be used more often. We look for the lowest price at the gas station, in the stores, at the market, so why not in video games as well?

No matter what it looks like it all comes to the same thing. How long can it keep you alive and how fast can it kill the other guy?

actually brawn, i meant that say i kill a troll on GW and he drops 94g in the game, what i want to do is take that 94g and turrn it in to actual 94 dollar bills. you see what im saying :)

Just finished the game with my first character, a Wo/Mo (big suprise) found it to be the most popular build out there. But had a lot of fun with him. When I started thought the 15K was kewl but when I researched thought the price for FoW was way to high, and 15K for the same as Drok's who would pay that?

Now at the end I agree with the previous post. A new goal, an new aspect to the game. Farming to get the money, and materials is going to be mind numbing, but thats why I created a new character to take through, a Mo/R, since when I got to HP there were so few for the mission and charging CRAZY money to help. But thats a different Rant.

I'm going for the Fissure armor just to see if I can get it. NO eBay purchases allowed. LOL

As a newly-wed...er, newly-staffed to a fansite, I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I never really learned where one might get the 15k armor. However, I have heard that for rangers the 15k druid's looks exactly the same as the 1.5k. Gah, how terrible!

You must be talking about Male Druidic armor then. The 15K variant of the Female Druidic armor looks decidedly different. For one, there seems to be a whole lot less to it. :-)

Seriously tho, I have a 15k set for my ele and the only reason I did this was because I had finished the game along with SF, UW and FoW and I have found good stuff myself, never had to buy a weapon or offhand item and I have been helping folks around and guildies. Now that resulted in alot of cash since I rarely spend... now what to do with it? I bought a 15K set for my char!

Correct.

I never saw the point to 15K, especially since I wear F Ranger druid and I HATE, HATE, HATE the 15K version.

But, now that I have more experience playing as a Ranger primary, and not relying so much on energy, I want to get Frostbound (fuzzy, mmmmm) or Drakescale. Both of which look quite nice in the 15K versions!

Actually, I'd like to mix and match fuzzy and scaley. But I wouldn't do that with anything but FoW armor cause it would just look silly otherwise. Who wants their char to look like it's wearing Uggs?

Same here i had bin farming SF for like a week and then i had a masive influx of cash so i decided to buy my guid hall and 15k armor. Cause really what else r u supposed to do with over 100k? I bought that and gave the rest to some of my friends so they could get a good weapon and good armor.

Well I myself carry around 2 extra sets of armor on my W/Mo. I started out with Droks Gladiator armor. I then worked my way to Citadel and Grotto and found the Dragons armor. As I grew more experienced in the game I found out about Fissure armor and now have that as well. He was my first character and all sets of my armor are in a bag and have a superior vigor and absortion on each one. I don't have the heart to use a salvage kit on it so one of my bags has nothing but 2 sets of armor.

Since i primarily use my guy as a guild runner and mission support for our guild. I really don't go out and farm too much with that character.

I cannot believe the difference of the looks from the drok's gladiator and the fissure of woe gladiator. I will not be doing any more characters with FOW armor unless stated before that you love that character so much and have plenty of time to get it. Later.
