how do you take pictures of the game? i want to try to submit some one day but i dont know how to

You have a level 50 hero, but have never taken a screenshot? Very heroic!
To take a picture just press the "Prt Scrn" button on your keyboard. The picture will be saved in C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\screenshots.
By default the text bubbles / windows / player names will not show up on your picture. But if you would like them to type first /screenshotui 1. From now on the windows/text/etc will appear on your screenshot. Type /screenshotui 0 to switch it off again.

to get the stuff on your pic you can also go to the options menu and change the keymaping option called "toggle screenshot ui" (or something like that) and change it to what key you want. i use scroll lock so when i press scroll lock it toggles from having the stuff on the shot or making a clean screenshot.

Well if you go into...
Your Options, head over to KeyMapping.
Go all the way down to "Other" and it should say what button is for pictures, I made mine "+".

definately. otherwise I would have run out of diskspace long time ago. I usually copy the one I like else where, and delete the rest. That way it is easier to review the latest pics.
