I suggest looking at the guides. Here is the first one I saw: Damage Mesmer.

well i advise you have a energy stealing spell(eg. energy tap), a healing spell (eg. parasitic bond) and also soul barbs just to increasethe damage you cause, you can also use barbs if you have lots of warriors in the group. not really sure about any others except allways carry a ressurection spell (ressurection signet).

Empathy + Insideous Parasite is a good combination.
Faintheartedness, Life Siphon
Shadow of Fear (better in PvE)
Warriors don't like crippling anguish.
It depends what you want to do really.
Edgwalkers is coming.

Hmm i'm not really a big backfire fan,.. becaus it costs 15 energy and takes alot of time to reload,..
I would use something to keep your foes cleared of there enchantments and do some major DOT with skills like Conjure Phantasm,.. by the way you should bring Blood is power,.. that skill rocks

this is my own build, modifying/fusing other builds together
stats are as follow
12:curses
11:blood magic
6:fast casting (add a fast casting mask and sup fast casting rune)
items
enchanter's armor with a sup vig rune
20/20 curse staff with +5 insightful and +30 fortitude adds
skills
awaken the blood
shadow strike
desecrate enchantments
Feast of Corruption
Arcane Echo
Res Sig
(2 skills of your choice, i would suggest some kind of life stealing or other damage dealers)
Hairy Hole R/Mo--20, retired
Mee Krob Maniac Mo/W--farmer
Ghandi Is My Dawg W/all-- everything
Holy Curse Sender N/Me--14 retired
Firey Wraith of God Ele/Me--15 retired
I Have No Weiner Ele/Mo--15 retired
Goth People Stink N/Me/Mo--20 farm
I Spit Hot Fire Ele/Me--soon to be 20 farmer
Get Shibby R/Mo--soon to be 20 farmer
Random PvP only characters
