Hi, im thinking of buyiung CoH, and i have questions, lots of them.

Hello!

Im currently thinking of buying CoH, after playing both WoW and SW:G i have things that i like and things that i hate about MMOs, so i have some questions:

1. What is the combat system like? is there moves (like spells in WoW) that i can do, or is it simply like SW:G with maybe two kinds of attacks?

2. How much is it? What are the installments i can pay in?

3. Can you join "Guilds" or alliances?

4. What is character creation like? Is there lots of choice for cosmetic design?

5. How many super powers can i give to my hero? Are there powers that cost more points? ie does flying cost more than super strength?

6. Are there different classes? tanks, healers etc?

7. Are there instances? like you get a group of people and do a level that could take hours?

8. Are there quests? like goals and tasks, or is it a grinding game. If there are quests are we talking one a level or one thousadn a level?

9. What is the lvl cap?

10. Is it hard to reach this? How many hours of gameplay roughly?

11. Is there items that drop, ie can you find better armour or is lvling up simply making your exisiting powers stronger?

12. Can i play with people who have CoV? I know many have it but i dont want to spend the money if im not going to like it.

13. Is there pvp? Or is this only possible with CoV?

14. Is there a big community? How big world wide you think?

15. Is it an easy interface? ie easy to learn, hard to master.

16. Is leveling simply: "kill this, get expereince, reach X amount of expereince, lvl up" or is it you have to complete a certain quest to get up lvls?

17. If there is "classes" do you pick it at the start? or is it like a proffesion that you learn once you are in the game?

18. Are there proffesions? ie can you learn "super suit making"?

19. I assume there are servers? But how many of them is there? and is there still room that i dont have to wait 30mins just to play it.

20. What are the minimum requirements for it?

21. Are there many bugs?

22. Is there any naming policies? Do names have letter restrictions, i dont want someone called "Jeff jeff jeffy mcjeff jeff"

23. How is the money systems? what is a lot of money?

24. Does the world eveolve? Can you take over cities?

25. Are there different types of servers? i dont want me running nooby style into a top lvl villian.

26. Are there RP servers?

27. Are there patchs? and how often are they released?

28. Is there certain areas designed for certain levels? ie a lvl 1 cant run into the middle of murdersville.

29. Do you only fight in cities?

30. What are the graphics like?

I know that is a lot but i would be really grateful if you could answer some one my questions if not all,

Thanks for the time,

Falin

1] From what I hear about WoW it is slightly different. In Coh you have Stamina and different powers. Each power has a different endurance cost and you have to have that amount of stamina to activate the power. Stamina regenerates on its own (and you can get power(s) to help it regenerate faster)

2] 29.99 at best buy right now and like 14.99 per month (unless you buy in bulk of months at which time the price per month drops)

3] Supergroups like the Teen Titans or the X-Men which are all player created and run :)

4] "Cryptic estimated the total possible costume combinations at 2.24 Quadrillion."

5] In character creation you pick two Powersets, meaning a bulk of powers in one set, you get to pick one of two powers from your primary set and you get an auto power from your second. These are the powers you start the game with, then at every even level (up to the higher levels) you get a power and every odd level you get 2 enhancement slots to put in your powers to upgrade there abilities (like skill points in WoW) I am not sure as to how many powers that adds up to be, I am sorta pressed on time right now or I would look it up.

6] Archetypes are the new classes :) There are: Blaster, Controllers, Tanks, Defenders, and Scrappers (plus two epic archetypes for reaching the max level of 50)

7] Not to hip on the word Instances but when you say hours to beat I think of Taskforces (and raids) which is a group of people that could spend upwards of 4-5 hours (maybe more maybe less depending on team) doing a particular set of mish's for a universal npc

8] Missions, you get contacts as you go up in levels based all over the city. You go to those contacts and they will give you missions to do. Complete a set of missions from a contact (and maybe his friends) you complete a Story Arc, much like a comic book.

9] Max level is 50

10] I have played almost 300 hours and I am at 43 but this is by no means a standards of comparison because I have seen my family member(s) take 500 hours and I have seen it completed in 300 hours...so it depends on how you play (xp per minute/hour) and how vigilantly you play (you never leave your keyboard and you are always killing higher level mobs)

11] Both sorta, remember when I mentioned Enhancment slots, those are the "Items" of CoH, it doesn't change the way your character looks but it boosts your powers efficiency. And as you level your powers go up in damage but so do the enemies hitpoints :)

12] I am not sure but I think if you have CoV you have to have CoH to play as a hero, don't quote me on it I don't have CoV I only have CoH. You can if you have CoH pvp with people who have CoV :)

13] See above answer

14] I don't have exact numbers sorry :(

15] I learned it pretty quick... Q W E S D F for movement (or now mouse) Space to jump, Click to activate objects or npcs numbers for powers (alt numbers for powers on second tray) or click them. F1-F4 (or 5) for Inspirations (which are like healing potions, stamina potions that sorta thing).
Overall easy, at least to me. Plus you can change the keys if you like...whatever floats your boat really :)

16] The first one, although its not always easy :)

17] At start, it is what basis your powers on

18] Unfortunately no, but you can be a Gameshow Host by hosting Costume Contests and handing out influence :)

19] Seems to always be room, and I think there are 11 of them

20] Pentium III 800 Mhz or AMD 800 MHz; 256 MB RAM; quad-speed CD-ROM; 2 GB hard drive space; Geforce 2 series or ATI Radeon 8500 series video card; 16-bit sound card; 56K modem.

21] It seems after each issue there seems to be a few but because they put it on test server before live (like constant beta) they cut alot of them out so the game flows smoothly

22] No copyright infringement and I think a maximum of 24 characters..not sure exactly so don't quote me. As well some symbols aren't allowed, and nothing profane.

23] Well money, or influence, is readily available by killing bad guys and completing missions. Alot of money? Well you get a badge every so often for a lot, like 1 million I think...nothing like World of Warcraft..by the time you are 10th lvl you have like 24 thousand influence.

24] Umm PvP zones are really all the reflects certain battles in the evironment, except fires in Steel which if not put out will cause the building to explode (not destroy but like burn it out)

25] All servers have same villians, and each server is "newb" friendly :)

26] I think we have one dedicated to that although I have not got into roleplaying all that much so i don't know which it is. I do know there is a huge SG for it called the RpCongress.

27] Well that depends on how antzy the Devs get..:) Issue 6 was just released on Halloween and before that it was like in october for issue 5, and before that it was like before summer I think.

28] Well there are Hazardzones which you cannot enter without being security level "x" but the "civilized" areas of the city, which still have villians of incremented levels, you can get into at any level. PvP zones boost you to the required level to be in the PvP zone (or exempler [bring you down] to the right level).

29] Fighting takes place in city, in wilderness, in caves, in science labs, in parks, in differing dimensions...wow that sounds epic doesnt it :)

30] I think they tie if not outdo WoW, but its all on your style of graphics and how good your system is.

Hope this helps and maybe somebody else can jump in and maybe tie in some of the blanks I left in this long list of questions.

-Madclergy

ps: I found this Site while looking for the quote on costume combinations again... looks to be promising

In answer to #2:
Walmart has CoH on it's shelves for $19.99.

Madclergy is bang-on with the rest. I would advise you go to the official City of Heroes web site to investigate the more basic aspects of the game.

Re: Hi, im thinking of buyiung CoH, and i have questions, lots of them.

Here's my take on your questions, because I can't butt out of conversations. :)

1. What is the combat system like? is there moves (like spells in WoW) that i can do, or is it simply like SW:G with maybe two kinds of attacks?

In CoH, there are 7 Archetypes (Classes). 5 of them you start with, 2 you can unlock after getting one of the originals to level 50. Each Archetype has roughly 30 combinations of power sets. In those power sets are your attacks. There are a TON of combinations of attacks that you can have. Melee, Ranged, PBAoE, AoE, Cone Based, Arc Based. There are also a bunch of different damage types that you can inflict, Lethal (slashing), Smashing (Fists and Maces), Energy, Fire, Ice, Negative, etc etc.

2. How much is it? What are the installments i can pay in?

I've seen the game in stores for between $20 and $30. The monthly fee is $15. You can also purchase the newly released City of Villains for around $50. The monthly fee for either game will cover both if you purchase both.

3. Can you join "Guilds" or alliances?

There are Supergroups, which you can start at level 10. You can join a pre-existing Supergroup (if a leader invites you) at any level, but to start your own, you have to be level 10 or higher.

4. What is character creation like? Is there lots of choice for cosmetic design?

CoH was hailed by various magazines and gaming sites as having the most diverse character creator of any MMORPG. There are endless combinations of possibilities for costumes.

5. How many super powers can i give to my hero? Are there powers that cost more points? ie does flying cost more than super strength?

By level 50, you will have 24 powers. Powers don't cost any extra for different ones, but some powers need others to unlock them. Your Primary and Secondary power sets don't require any "unlocking" but there are genericly available "Pool" powers (anyone can pick them) that require you to "open" the pool up before you can get the higher level powers in them. For example, you mentioned Flight. In order to unlock Flight, you need to select Hover (a slow, defensive version of Flight) or Air Superiority (a Melee attack that knocks fliers down) at level 6 or later. At that point, Flight will be unlocked for you at level 14 and then Group Fly will be unlocked for you at level 20.

6. Are there different classes? tanks, healers etc?

Yes. CoH has 7 Archetypes. The first 5, Tankers, Defenders, Blasters, Scrappers and Controllers are available out of the box. Warshades and Peacebringers are unlockable by getting a character to level 50 (the current level cap). CoV also has 5 additional Archetypes.

7. Are there instances? like you get a group of people and do a level that could take hours?

Yes. We call them Missions. Missions can be "door" missions or "train" missions. A door mission takes place in a warehouse, office building, sewer or some other indoor setting. Train missions take place in a "force fielded" area outside. Usually a single mission doesn't take that long to complete, but there are also things called "Task Forces" that are a string of missions in a cool storyarc that will usually take a few hours to complete. You generally get a badge for completing a Task Force. Often, your missions from one particular Contact will be a Story Arc and at the end of it, you'll get some sort of reward for completing it.

8. Are there quests? like goals and tasks, or is it a grinding game. If there are quests are we talking one a level or one thousadn a level?

See number 7. You can do Task Forces anytime after you reach the minimum level for it and you can do them over and over if you want. They're a great source of Exp.

9. What is the lvl cap?

Currently, level 50. CoV is currently level 40 (it was just released).

10. Is it hard to reach this? How many hours of gameplay roughly?

I've seen people do it in anywhere from about 300-600 hours. I'm an alt-o-holic, so I've never reached it.

11. Is there items that drop, ie can you find better armour or is lvling up simply making your exisiting powers stronger?

There are enhancement drops for your powers, CoH doesn't really have Loot.

12. Can i play with people who have CoV? I know many have it but i dont want to spend the money if im not going to like it.

Sort of. People who are just in CoV can run into you in the PvP zones. You can't really run missions with them and the like. Also, as I mentioned earlier, the monthly fee doesn't increase if you buy both games.

13. Is there pvp? Or is this only possible with CoV?

There are currently 3 PvP zones. Two of them are Hero vs Villain, the 3rd is a Free for All zone. You don't need CoV to participate.

14. Is there a big community? How big world wide you think?

I don't know the numbers, but it's huge.

15. Is it an easy interface? ie easy to learn, hard to master.

Extremely easy to learn. A lot of the members here have their young kids playing it. I've seen 8 year olds playing the game with their parents. There are definite subtleties to the game, but the basics are extremely simple to learn.

16. Is leveling simply: "kill this, get expereince, reach X amount of expereince, lvl up" or is it you have to complete a certain quest to get up lvls?

Option 1. Kill this, get exp, reach X exp, level up.

17. If there is "classes" do you pick it at the start? or is it like a proffesion that you learn once you are in the game?

Picked at character creation.

18. Are there proffesions? ie can you learn "super suit making"?

Not yet. Eventually there will be a Skills system in place, but they're working out the fun factor at Cryptic.

19. I assume there are servers? But how many of them is there? and is there still room that i dont have to wait 30mins just to play it.

You never have to wait unless the servers are down for daily maint. There are 11 (I think) in the US and 4 in Europe. If you're in the US, you can only play on the US servers. If you own the Euro game, you can only play on the Euro servers.

20. What are the minimum requirements for it?

Check the main site. I'm not sure entirely. I have a P4 2GhZ, 1G of RAM, Nvidia 6800 128M graphics card. http://www.cityofheroes.com. The requirements should be there.

21. Are there many bugs?

Not too many. Once in a while you bump into something, but it gets fixed pretty quickly.

22. Is there any naming policies? Do names have letter restrictions, i dont want someone called "Jeff jeff jeffy mcjeff jeff"

You can have names up to 20 characters in length. You can't use copyrighted names from other comic companies. For example, you couldn't make a Wolverine who was a Claws Regen scrapper without being "GenericHeroed". For the most part, if you're even a tiny bit creative, you should be fine. :)

23. How is the money systems? what is a lot of money?

Hard to say. You only need money (influence) for enhancements. You're usually pretty poor at the lower levels, but friends and SG mates that are higher level are usually pretty generous. Even random people will sometimes give you "drive by" donations.

24. Does the world eveolve? Can you take over cities?

Not really. The world itself is pretty static aside from the changes the devs make by adding zones and the like.

25. Are there different types of servers? i dont want me running nooby style into a top lvl villian.

All of the servers are identical aside from the population. Just play where your friends are.

26. Are there RP servers?

Unofficially, Virtue is the RP server. Although you can RP anywhere really.

27. Are there patchs? and how often are they released?

Major updates usually happen about 4 times a year. That's when power sets, zones and the like are added. Minor "fix" patches are usually released more often.

28. Is there certain areas designed for certain levels? ie a lvl 1 cant run into the middle of murdersville.

Correct. The starting areas, Atlas Park and Galaxy City are designed for 1-6 level characters. Then it expands out from there. There are certain "hazard zones" that require you to be a certain level to get there, although most anyone can get to any City Zone. Although a level 1 going into Independence Port (a level 20+ area) is probably going to get killed by a street spawn in a few seconds.

29. Do you only fight in cities?

Cities, Hazard Zones, Instanced Missions and some wilderness like settings.

30. What are the graphics like?

Outstanding. Take a look at our Screenshots section to get a little better view. Those are all stills, but you can get some idea.

Re: Hi, im thinking of buyiung CoH, and i have questions, lots of them.

12. with CoH you would only be able to team up with other heros so if the other person only had CoV then you wouldn't be able to, but...

13. There are currently 3 pvp zones of various levels that you can enter without CoV and villains can enter withough CoH, there is also an arena that you can fight other heros in. The only thing CoV gets you with regards to pvp is the ability to build a base for your supergroup(for both heros and villains) which allows you to do instant base raids. Also then you can get items of power, which boost up your whole sg. At which point your base can be raided at times the sg sets.

Hey, welcome, and I hope you do think about getting it.

If you still have questions... maybe want to try it... I happen to have a free 14 trial code from my pre-order box of villians. If you'd be interested in using it I'd gladly PM it to you. I really think it's a game that once you try it you'll be hooked, and what better way to try it than for free.

Send me a PM if you're intrested and I'll send you the code.

Re: Hi, im thinking of buyiung CoH, and i have questions, lots of them.

The numbers I've seen for active membership can vary quite a bit from month to month. The most active was 190,000 paid members following the launch and 120,000 was the lowest (right after WoW launched). Usually the membership on the North American servers is around 160,000 paying members and a thousand or so people that are trying out using 14-day codes or promotional giveaways . This doesn't sound very populace to people that are used to WoW and the like, but I can say you'll never be alone for long.

As to system specs, quite a few upgrades were instituted with the launch of CoV and you'll probably want to make sure your computer is above minimum requirements. I'ld say at least a 1.4 Ghz chip, 512 MB of RAM, and 3GB of Harddrive space. Not official mind you, but just my opinion.

Re: Hi, im thinking of buyiung CoH, and i have questions, lots of them.

[QUOTE]Hello!

[B]1. What is the combat system like? is there moves (like spells in WoW) that i can do, or is it simply like SW:G with maybe two kinds of attacks?

The combat system is very free-flowing. You see an opponent or group of opponents, target one of them for an attack, then choose an attack from your power tray and execute it. The monsters respond intelligently and interactively.

2. How much is it? What are the installments i can pay in?

$15 U.S. a month, and you can get Game Time Cards or pay in installments of 6 or 12 months I believe.

3. Can you join "Guilds" or alliances?

There are superteams which you can create at Level 10, or join when invited by like-minded supers.

4. What is character creation like? Is there lots of choice for cosmetic design?

Enormous amounts of choices in appearance. I have been playing close to a year and outside of the tank 'template body' (most tanks are BIG and WIDE) the looks are varied.

5. How many super powers can i give to my hero? Are there powers that cost more points? ie does flying cost more than super strength?

There aren't really 'costs' per se, but the game is based on powers costing 'Endurance'. You start with 100 Endurance, and each activation of a power costs a little of that. Flight, though great looking, is a toggle which constantly drains endurance, and a lot...Super Jump is much less. Powers cost Endurance points incrementally from 1st level powers to the last set you get at levels 32-36.

6. Are there different classes? tanks, healers etc?

The archetypes are Blaster, Controller, Defender, Tanker, Scrapper and Warshade/Peacebringer. Each of them has a variety of power sets...Defenders are the 'healers' though Controllers can 'healer' as well...it's the Empathy pool set that allows healing.

[7. Are there instances? like you get a group of people and do a level that could take hours?

Some missions are short, others quite long. The more people you have in your party, the longer it will be because of more mobs. Some connected missions are called 'Task Forces'. Expect to play for 4-10 hours straight in one of those.

8. Are there quests? like goals and tasks, or is it a grinding game. If there are quests are we talking one a level or one thousadn a level?

City of Heroes is quite open-ended. You can run around and bash monsters all day, or you can talk to your contacts and they will send you on a story arc, which will net you a souvenir clue (clues give you details and history about the tasks you are performing) and a good enhancement (an object that is slotted into a power to improve its performance).
You can also collect badges for exploring or achievement.

What is the level cap?

50

10. Is it hard to reach this? How many hours of gameplay roughly?

It depends. It took me 7 months for my main to reach it, but there is 'power levelling' where you can go to Peregrine Island, the high-level zone, and get someone to get XP for you while you sit around...in which case it takes less time. Note that power-levelling is frowned on by the devs and some members of the community. Task Forces generally net you HUGE experience.

11. Is there items that drop, ie can you find better armour or is lvling up simply making your exisiting powers stronger?

You get Inspirations dropped from baddies, they are one-use boosts. Otherwise it is making your powers stronger. You can also obtain temporary powers by completing missions.
There are also Enhacement drops. There are 3 kinds of these, and they slot into your powers. Each power will explain which kind of slotting it accepts, and also will tell you the % increase of the enhancement. The lowest are Training, available all over and usable by characters of all levels. The second are dual-origin (the character origins are Science, Magic, Technology, Mutant and Natural) which cover two of these origins and are therefore narrower and more powerful. These are dropped or bought in stores. Dual-origins are usable as of level 12...and single origins, which begin use at level 22 or so. Please consult the CoH Enhancement section to the left of your screen before I confuse you further.

12. Can i play with people who have CoV? I know many have it but i dont want to spend the money if im not going to like it.

Yes you can, but only in the PvP zones. Only 3 of those zones are connected to CoH.

13. Is there pvp? Or is this only possible with CoV?

There is PvP in the pvp zones and in the Arena.

14. Is there a big community? How big world wide you think?

It's huge. There are also servers in Europe. I'd say 10s of thousands.

15. Is it an easy interface? ie easy to learn, hard to master.

Extremely easy. I was a MMORPG neophyte and picked it up instantly. There is a tutorial when you first create a character that shows you the rope and brings you to level 2.

16. Is leveling simply: "kill this, get expereince, reach X amount of expereince, lvl up" or is it you have to complete a certain quest to get up lvls?

It is mostly kill stuff get xp, but the missions don't always involve combat. They can involve getting an item, talking to people or so on.

17. If there is "classes" do you pick it at the start? or is it like a proffesion that you learn once you are in the game?

There are archetypes: Blaster, Controller, Defender, Scrapper, Tanker and so on.

18. Are there proffesions? ie can you learn "super suit making"?

No.

9. I assume there are servers? But how many of them is there? and is there still room that i dont have to wait 30mins just to play it.

I think there are 8 or 9 servers...and you never will have to wait, outside of daily downtime for server maintenance.

20. What are the minimum requirements for it?

I don't have them offhand, but I recommend a Gig of RAM and a good video card, and around 5 gigs hard disk space.

21. Are there many bugs?

Not really...but after a new patch it does get buggy, but these get fixed within a week.

22. Is there any naming policies? Do names have letter restrictions, i dont want someone called "Jeff jeff jeffy mcjeff jeff"

There is a 20 character space restriction, and any names deemed offensive or able to violate intellectual property rigths will be changed. This is all explained in the EULA.

23. How is the money systems? what is a lot of money?

There isn't 'money' there is 'influence'. A lot is over 5 million, which you get around levels 40+...you start out with 0 and must grind your way into it by killing stuff, completing missions or selling enhancements.

24. Does the world eveolve? Can you take over cities?

Constantly. New zones emerge, old zones change somewhat, events are placed inzone and so on.

25. Are there different types of servers? i dont want me running nooby style into a top lvl villian.

Not really...but some zones are level restricted. For example, the starting zones are Atlas Park and Galaxy City, and villains there are levels 1-6. Some zones are much more powerful. The Hive is a zone containing a Level 50 archvillain called Hamidon. It takes upwards of 100 heroes to defeat it, all level 50. You must be level 45 to enter The Hive.

6. Are there RP servers?

Not specifically but you can RP your character.

27. Are there patchs? and how often are they released?

There are new Issues every 4 or so months, and new fix patches when needed.

28. Is there certain areas designed for certain levels? ie a lvl 1 cant run into the middle of murdersville.

Yes. As a level 1 you can access the main city zones such as Atlas Park, Steel Canyon, Galaxy CIty, Skyway CIty, Kings Row and so on...all reachable by a train.

Higher level zones can be reached through highways...but beware, even though you can take the highway there, you may not be safe if you are not high enough level. Some zones are called 'Trial zones' and require a high security level to enter. See my example of The Hive above.

29. Do you only fight in cities?

You can fight all over. Cities, sewers, forests, there are always enemies to found somewhere.

30. What are the graphics like?

Good. I recommend you go the Photo ALbum section and browse for yourself. Some zones are ordinary, others (The Shadow Shard, Eden, the Rikti Crash Site) are breathtaking.

I also recommend you read up on the Enhancements, Powers and so on to the left of your screen, they are quite helpful.

Welcome to the site bud. If you have played WoW, then I can basically gaurantee that the interface will be extremely easy for you to get used to. The keymapping for movement is a little different as in the strafe keys, but you can always change those. Those are all well thought out questions and I think that you will enjoy CoH or CoV immensely. Either way, everyone knows Gameamp.com is worl renowned for its helpful non-flaming/griefing members, so you came to the right site. Feel free to come back and ask questions galore.

Re: Hi, im thinking of buyiung CoH, and i have questions, lots of them.

Welocome,

Also, great job to the few members that gave complete responces - that is quite a list - gave you all 5 cred for the effort

Things I would add as a pretty new player (july 05 - lvl31)

Cost: you can get cheaper rates by getting 3 months 6 months or a year at a time

Debt: Up through lvl 10 when you get killed it costs you nothing but pride and a free trip to the closest hospital - you can even skip that by rezzing in place if you have the right inspiration or a friend to rez you. After 10 each time you die you accumulate debt which essentially halfes your xp earned until paid off. Caps are there i personally know its 5000 at lvl 29 and 50000 at level 30 - researched that myself.

Teams: a major benefit and vastly unique from Super Groups - even in pairs you get many benefits and have no long term commitment where as you can only be in one SuperGroup at a time, and any prestige you earn them stays with the SG when you leave.

Number of Powers - yes 25 at base (1 every other level) earned powers but you can collect badges (items) and combine them for Accolades that can be additional powers or just permanent performance increases

How fast: with no power leveling or purchased help I level at about 1 level every 3 hours (its much faster up to around 10 or so when debt starts)

Thanks -Del

I'm interested in playing CoH too. I saw this thread and was wondering if anyone still had any trial codes floating around that I could use. If so, send me a PM.

Actually Delphon the debt cap is 5 deaths outside or 10 deaths inside (i know because my Fire tank is very squishy atm) and at around 24 i maxed out with 17500 debt from herding in DA but that is irrelevent.Any just wanted to add my 2 cents

24) Does the world evolve? Can you take over cities?

A feature like this is in the works, say the developers, a type of zone that changes depending on the presence of evil or good (it's supposedly a PVP zone, and no, not siresn's call). I hear it's supposed to be a time travel zone, Lord Recluse's Victory if evil's winning, Statesman's Victory if good is, but this is all down the grapevine, Pick and choose the facts out. :)

RE: Hi, im thinking of buyiung CoH, and i have questions, lots of them.

Personally I think the game is definately worth the $20 @ wal-mart. If you dont like it after the first month, then hey, you're only out $20. Just think that it used to cost near $50! I think everyone else has covered the questions and given you enough info on the game. Just go buy it if you like the responses. Good luck, hope to see you out there. :)

*edit*I didnt take the time to read everyone elses comments, but as for the "minimum requirements"... I'd say 512 Ram is good. (No idea about Vid. card) I used to have 256 and i'd lag out, take forever to load and all this stuff. So... you might wanna upgrade from 256mb if you have it. But dont get me wrong, the game is worth the suffers of being slow. I was still playin even though i knew my computer was slow. I upgraded and the game is even funner for me now!

OH! That reminds me if you even think about getting CoV with CoH then you need at least 1 Gig RAM because i would know i have been playing 512 MB for about 4 weeks and cant even use my travel powers cause i lag so much so its 512 MB for just CoH and 1 Gig for both of them.

RE: Hi, im thinking of buyiung CoH, and i have questions, lots of them.

Well, Chris, the MINIMUM amount of Ram for CoH/CoV to run is 256mb. I had that, I had So much lag. But, you dont have to get a 512 for every NCsoft game you have or something like that. It's jus that the RECCOMENDED amount of RAM is 1gb for it to run smoothly. So... I hope that helps.
