Last night I ran the first SF with a damn good team. We had 2 brutes, 2 dominators, 3 MM's, 1 stalker, and something else. However, the damn SF proved impossible to do with such large spawns and the fact that EVERY damn group of enemies had 2-4 bosses and was at least 10-15 baddies. On top of that, the damn baddies were ALL level 20-22 compared to our 15-19 at the start. Even LK'd up, as I was, we got our butts handed to us in every fight, no matter how strategically we played. Total BS.

What was the difficulty at? I believe that the difficulty of the leader of the SF is what matters, not everyone else's. If his difficulty was pushed up, that's more than likely the reason for it being so hard. Also, yeah it is pretty brutal. I remember doing it at level 18 or so, and all the baddies being orange/red/purple to me. The last mission is especially tough, with Bat'Zul and his Fire Imps, and all the little minions of him running to you.

Wow. I dunno what to tell you then. I mean, my group was 8 people at the beginning and we did pretty good till we got to the last mission with the AV. We ended up losing a few people over the SF, but had no real trouble till the end. The devs have definately stepped up the difficulty on the TFs/SFs, that's for damn sure. If you check out My Post on the Respec SF, you'll see why I say that. The devs are really ticking me off with the stupid stuff they've done to "make the game better" lately.

I had no problem with the first SF. We had a 5 man team... most of us were closer to 20 that to 15, and we had 2 stalkers who zipped us through most of it. All in all, no prob.

the team I ran with we had the hardest time doing the second mish. We rescued the workers but didnt know what to do after that.

I can back up Gov on this, I was one of the people playing with him and OMG! Like he said, not a single enemy below lvl 20. Hey, what's the lvl cap for the 1st SF, Lord Devious is lvl 20 now, maybe better chance of completeing if we try again with all lvl19-20 toons. Gov, I'll be on later around 5 PM est, if you want my help to lvl DI up and try that SF again! Or later when ur able to log on! Anyway, its a hard SF if your teammates are in the lower lvl range.

Okay, the pirates of Deadman's Crew tried to run this last night. We had a level 19, an 18, a 17 and 2 15's sk'd in. We got TORE UP! Halfway through the first mish, we decided to try and get closer to 20 before trying again.

not to have the need to say it but: I told ya so. Seriously though, I believe that was the same amount of people in levels as the team I ran. I think what made it extremely difficult also is the lack of support based toons. You have MM's and Corruptors really as ur support toons. People who play MM's end up mainly orienting on their kickass little pets, therefore neglecting to gain support powers. Corruptors are the same way...they focus on their primary powers and neglect thier support secondaries.

As for what I meant as support....I mean buffs for the health of the team, not holds lol. You can hold em down nice and good for a bit, but there will always be the sneaky bastards that dont get held and whomp the dog poo out of your team in a few shots.

I have noticed this. Buffs and debuffs make evrything easier and not many people do it in COV. I have even teamed with MMs that I knew could heal but never healed me. They would only heal their pets. Also I would like it if the pets would heal or buff everyone.

Yeah...I think the issue is that the game is specifically oriented toward all of the ATs causing more damage than heroes. It seems like one of the selling points, but it ends up hurting in the long run. My main is a Brute, and I prefer to have MMs use their pets to tank for me...Mostly because I get my butt handed to me by a group of 2 yellow LTs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Brutes should be able to take more damage than any of the other ATs. It simply isn't so. I've been beaten down by a group of 1 orange LT and a yellow minion with 4 of my defense buffs running. There are some definite problems with the accuracy and defense numbers that the Devs just aren't looking at. It's getting pretty frustrating...

Done the SF and except for the AV, it wasn't a real problem. Other than an idiot friend of mine that liked the taste of floor.
We ran a 6 man team with four of us being 20 (2 20s and 2 auto-exempted to 20), and two Lk'd to 19.
I ran one of two MM's and my secondary was bubbles.

I bubble my bots and team mates. Other pets get done as I have time and end. So I do support team members, keeps the xp flowing.
BTW, the lava eats pets up! At least it did the bots. We managed to finally beat the AV by pulling him out of the lava and into the entrance tunnel. He didn't pull at first. Not until we had done a decent amount of damage, and died 2 or 3 times each.

Thanks for the tip bud....I will likely be attempting to do this tonight again. So the pulling aspect comes into play quite well now that I know it kills pets crazy quick.

Yeah, on the first run (the easy one), we pulled. All it took was one batch of thorns thrown at him to get him out of the pool and into the tunnel after me.

Did it with no problem group of 8. 2 corr, 1 brute, 2mm 2 stalkers, 1 dom (i believe) L18-19. Tore through quick too. at the bind room we waited out 3 waves before attacking the AV with no problem. Think each of us died once in the whole TF.

That's correct Shadow.
On the original subeject, i will be sitting in the same mission for the next 10 days, so I will appear online, although I wont be. I ran this impossble SF again, with a higher based, well balanced healing team and it still proved impossible. When we got the Bat'Zul to halflife, we were summarily killed and had to request help from No game in the form of inspirs...SF proved impossible...and damnit i am staying in game on a few petitions from the entie group until we get some damn recognitition.

I was with Nakoma on the successful run and the unsuccessful attempt.
It's my opinion that team make-up is critical for this run. The first couple of missions are "Kill em all" types so a good mix of damage & buffing will serve you well.
The next few are find the glowie/kill the boss and his guards type of missions.
A couple of Stalkers or someone with grant invis will make these next few missions much easier.
The AV is pretty tough. We pulled him to the entrance of his little lava room and the Dominators took over from there. Dont let him into the lava, it regenerates his health :P We had a couple of deaths before he was held but once we had him contained, it was all she wrote.
So in my opinion your team should be at least all level 18. Remember toons over lvl 20 will be auto exempted to 20 which is a great way to build up some infamy (a good selling point if you are trying to put a team together). :) A decent mix of AT's will greatly help. Stalkers are invaluable for the glowie hunt and boss kill missions.
A couple of real good Dominators will help greatly with the AV at the end. The CoV Respec Trial I hear is a bear, can't wait to give that one a try.

I finished the 1st SF today with a 4 man pickup group, 1 MM, 1 Cor, 1 Stalker, 1 Brute, smooth sailing too.

Went back and did it again (this time exemp) with my SG. Completed with no major problems (except on self inflicted when we died trying to fight with longbow trying to get hostage to vator.. and the spot he needed to go to was in the room DOH).
Died 2 times on AV but with domination i kept him locked up pretty well as we whooped on him. Pet control was critical with the lava.
Got badge this time.

I got info from support back after getting schooled on a sister psyche TF with the lowest difficulty set, I assume the same would apply for SF. basically you take the first level that you are allowed to do a TF and add 5 levels that is the recommended level for the TF. The mobs no matter what dif setting you choose have a level minimum that they will spawn below, sounds like for yours it is about lvl 20. So if your group like mine was probably mainly on the lower end of acceptable levels instead of averaging towards the "recommended level" you are pretty much doomed to fail.
