Cost

what is the cost of SUN? is there gonna be a monthly fee? i think probably if the game looks that good then again it looks like a rip of of guildwars but with better graphics (ex Elementalist???)

Elementalist = mage
cost of the game will be $12-15 bucks...you know like regular MMORPGs cost...or what i think. Rip of GW? pish lol this game will blow it away, but we all have our opinions lol.

Remember, If you get SUN online first help us get a good server so we can all play comfortably :P. Rate everyone :P

What draws you to this conclusion?, why do you think it's a guild wars rip off?
And yes it probably will be p2p, most mmo's are :)

Free games is a great concept but if your not getting paid for doing something great then why do it? That and the cost of fixing servers and getting better components and tons of other things go into it also so 12 buck a month isn't so bad...pay it with your credit card and get credit at the same time xD

I think maybe Guild Wars has spoiled some people. For me it seems normal to pay for a MMO. GW blew me away w/ the fact that they don't charge a monthly fee. Of course not a lot of other companies will feel the need to do that like GW did. It would be nice, but I really don't see it happening.

Yes that's true..it's very rare to see MMORPGs go for free. Mostly b/c it's a very lucritive business. Spoiled wise yeah it has spoiled ppl. Everything can't be free ^^.

It will definately be worth it ! Frankly I'm getting bored with G.W., WOW, and even BF2 ! The gaming community needs this game !

I'm sure the fact that GW was free to play has helped it's sales tremendously. Unlike, say DDO, which may be practically sitll born due to lack of replay potential. I know many a MMORPGer who picked up GW to fool around with since it's free to play.

On the same note, I'm sure Sun will be pay to play.

I dont mind paying for this game.. the only thing that sux is that i don't have a credit card :P. so i probabbly have to go to the store all the time to get some kind of card so i can play for some months more. And uuh does somebody know the exact cost?! :o

Not to chew on ya, but it's getting REALLY pathetic seeing GW fanbois critique every damn game against it. Guild Wars was fun, but comparitive to the rest of the big name MMOs it sucks hardcore.

w00t GW cost nothing to play! It's possible to get max end game in 2 weeks with GW. big whoop. SUN ripping off of GW for the Elementalist class? Ever play D & D as a kid? I'm only 19 but I'm not naive enough to think that any game in the past 15-20 years was original with any of their classes.

Paying to play ensures that the playerbase has a leg to stand on in the event we feel the game is not going in the durection that appeases us most. We will demand orderly patches and loads of content, and Webzen will provide it because we PAY them.

And frankly 15$ can't really be a concern for anybody. I'm sorry but in this country where obesity is at an all time high, I think if people didn't supersize their lunch everyday they could afford 3 MMO subscriptions a month.

No, not really. Just because we pay them doesn't necessarily mean we WILL get what we demand. Take a look at the Lineage 2 official forums. Players have been demanding, requesting, and even beggin things for Lineage 2 for a long time and the majority of the requests just fade off into forum heaven. Paying to play ensures nothing, except that if you miss your payment, they will most likely deactivate your account.

Sure GW is short, but I managed to waste 10 months or so of my life on that game before I started really getting burnt out on it. This is how life works. We compare against what we know, and when we aren't given the information we want, we tend to speculate. So don't be so harsh just because someone doesn't want to pay to play.

To agree with you, yes, people shouldn't be so quick to judge just because what they know is popular. Popular isn't always "right" or "best".

Hehe, that's a good idea. There's the Adkins diet and the South Beach diet. I think I'll start the MMO diet: The more you play, the less you eat therefore losing weight. :)

To answer you Blackphoenix, yes I know Lineage II feedback isn't the best. But remember the first year they didn't even have any noteworthy customer support. They were so busy with the Korean part of it that botting and whatnot fell rampant on the western servers.
It was destined to be a great game, and to this day they try hard to mask the truth that the game is at a steady decline. Botting wouldn't be so prevelant if money wasn't such a rare commodity. If more high end gear was derived from quests/bound to raids, people wouldn't need $1,000+ in adena to buy competitive gear.

Well, I can't disagree with you there. On the official forums, you so much as mention bots and they lockdown the thread quicker than you know what. It's a fun game, but the only impression I get is that they are trying to cover up the problems as opposed to dealilng with them. It's sad really...
