Symbols in chattext on GW

Does anyone of you guys know how to make symbols in your chattext on GW and is there a list of them somewhere?

Not that it's priority, but it kinda gives a nice touch to plain boring text

and none of ingame players that use it, wanna tell me how,
so i though i would ask you guys =)

I`ve seen it before too, but I`m annoyed by it.
It looks to me as annoying as those ppl who use caps-lock all the time.

But that`s just my vieuw about it.

ok that`s easy:
NOT ME... even if I had that much money and more as zero Ecto`s. It`s just far too much, insane prize.
Maybee you can get something for it as it has high other stats as well and a low req. but even then...

hehe,i thought the same when i saw it,and btw i don't know how they do it,maybe copy and paste from your wordpad?i didn't try it tho,maybe i'll give it a go? in a min..

maybe i should have taken another example =)-

But i think it's not anything near capslocks, it's not like you're shouting at all in my point of view, it just brings a little touch in an otherwise boring text.
Planning on using it in guildmessages ;-)

OK here you guys go, a guide to the "special characters" used in text.

To copy character , just right mouse click and "copy".
To paste in GW just type your message then hit cntl V which pastes it in.

doh,i said the same before,just wasn't sure whether it works or not,coz i can't try it now...
i tried that before with some arabic symbols,but i couldn't paste them in to the chat box,so i guess some symbols aren't transferrable(GW won't allow all symbols to appear in the game).

Actually the best way to enter ASCII codes is not copy and paste, but by knowing the alt + #### for the character you want.

In windows xp, you can goto Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Character Map

In window, at the bottom right you will see keystroke: alt + 0126 for example, and as you pick different symbols, you can find out its 'shortcut' keystroke, the symbols should work in anything, MSN, guild wars, wow, etc.

P.S. you hold down alt, then type the numbers in sequence, on the number pad only.

err...not all of the symbols work,and even those that usualy work,wont be available in some programs,because they have no equivalent in the particular font that program might be using(they appear as rectangulars,white boxes,some strange marks or don't appear at all)

Haha, this is an example of a thread I quite appreciate being ressed, I was wondering which icons I can use in game. Seems they only work in Guild and Alliance chat now, but, still cool for guild messages etc :D

Ah, I thought I'd seen them used in local chat before, must have been when I was in a Heroes Ascent Internation district. Ty ^^

PS I really love these new symbol thingies, they're given me something fun to play with in guild chat :D

The point is: If you are going to say something, make it worth saying. I actually think it applies to both your comments. A friendly reminder that this is an old thread is fine, try to keep negativity out of it though.

There seems to be 2 main reasons to me why people are so adverse to resurrecting old thread:

Firstly, when they contain information or comments that are no longer valid, such as a topic of conversation about content which has since changed or been removed from the game. The content in question in thris thread is still valid, and I actually quite liked it in this instance :P

Secondly, people only use the Top5 Threads of the main page as their way of navigating the forums. Well, I have BIG news for y'all, we got a whole big massive forum thingy which you can check out >here<. It has way more than 5 threads in it! If only people would use it more often instead of relying on the top5 we wouldn't have so much negativity towards the old threads being brought back, especially when they contain information which is still valid.

Now, play nice please.

Dead thread was rezzed because of patch that changed something with icons in chat.. I think its cool to rezz this thread instead of startin a new one.
