Suggestion for Arenanet: Battlefield 

Well, since people is talking about the upcoming chapter and the things they would like to see, i thought i had to write my Xmas whises like everyone else... there is something I would LOVE to see in this game.

The idea is basically to change the equivalent to the Hall of Heros system for the new map-storyline just to create a new pvp mode. Now, favor of gods would be determinated in a new way, kind of a conquer open system. The idea would be, instead of party vs party, european partIES vs american partIES vs Korean partIES...... So we got a big Temple, Hall or whatever and that has to be defended, for instance, by the Americans and, for instance, the Europeans have to conquer it. Many parties can play in each side, so there is cooperation between parties. Maybe a chat for each server would be needed. The possesion of each castle, hall... by, for instance, Europe would allow europeans the access to an equivalent to UW or FoW, so basically in order to get access to those "hidden maps", players from a server have to defeat players from the server in possession of the castle or hall or temple that allows access to those areas.
I wouldn't even discard the idea of leaving some groups of foes somewhere in the map for both sides to fight... well this is just a rare idea, needs to be pulished... :P

I don't know if i have explain myself but I think something like that would add much more excitement to the game and would satisfy the needs of players like me that would love to see something that opens the game a little bit more to the "massive" concept. I read some suggestions from some other people and some talked about opening the maps so you could find other players in your path. Because of the way the game has been made, i think, like many others, that that wouldn't be possible at all, but a new area like the one I talk about would surely satissfy that factor many of us miss, and would surely make Ascalonians much happier and willing to buy ^^.

OH, ARENANET, WE BEG THOU, BRING US BIGGER WARS!!!!

The concept itself isn't terrible unfortunatly the cost of the idea would be pretty high. Already people with dialup take forever to enter a mission imagine them having to enter an area with hundreds of human players which all require constant feeds between their computer to the ANet servers. Also it brings in the problem of how the ANet server will be able to process all that information without forcing the players to pay monthly fees. The only reason i play GW is because i am a poor college student and the one time fee is the best thing. I would not be able to play if i had to pay a constant monthly fee in order to keep my characters.

As for ideas here is an interesting one: A 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 arena where you can be thrown in randomly or you can pick your teams or your opponents. That way you can try out builds and counter-builds in PvP without waiting to get lucky and run into the build that you are trying to counter.

Actually, I love this idea.

I have always wanted something like capture the flag(ish) with it being unique to this type of game (I think? :D) That way, you have your runner, defender, attacker and your mid-point people.

Know what would be even cooler? 32-way free for alls! Just have a single MASSIVE map, I think in a mountainous setting with caves, hills, plateus, forests, maybe a lava flow or two, and basically just a highly varied settings. Each person, or maybe 2-person or 4-person teams, starts in a different little area and has to wipe out every other team.

I'm not sure entirely how this would be instituted, but it would be awesome! So much chaos would ensue in each battle, it would be incredibly entertaining! I suppose it would work better if they either put some limit on ressurections or made it so that it was timed and whoever had the most kills by the end won...

But yeah, free for alls would be awesome in my opinion just because they would be so unpredicatable.

the idea of a bigger war for the favour is a little like the knight online war system between races. 120vs 120 in a massive war to invade the enemy territory.

in hall of heros the max group is 8 right? 8*4=32 players. And if I'm not mistaken, HoH can have even more teams than that.

so the idea of a 32 player free for all would be rather awsome, and rather feasable. You could even rig it up so that it has an automatic respawn and whoever has the most kills wins something like massive balthazars favor, fame, or something else.

Just as long as it doesn't effect favor of the gods, since you need that to be stable, and 1 person would not be stable.

Hey Nihil,

Well, you are a student and I don't have a job (*bummer*). And I agree i dont wanna pay monthly fees :P . The idea i exposed is just a rough drawing. I think the game, for a second chapter, need some twist like that and am sure there are lots of ways to keep it without fees, the way it is, and without higher connection requirements. The idea i exposed wouldnt mean that the whole game would turn into an average MMORPG. It would mean just something different from the coop missions, the pvp regular battles and the quests. It would probably have restrictions due to what you said (am not talking about 2 million people fighting in the same battlegroup) but of some kind of guerrilla war with a maximum/minimum of groups for each side in each battleground. Basically open up those battleground servers, maybe by making less or smaller servers in some other areas, etc.

The MMORPG u have to pay fees for have bigger maps, constant foe spamming and the whole game -ALL the servers- are open to all players. THERE HAS TO BE A WAY to get some big battles in this game :( ... obviously I'm not working for Arenanet and I'm not expert in the field.... but even so... I BELIEVE! (Dwayna protect us!)

By the way, remember: HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE IN ONE OF LION'S ARCH DISTRICTS AT THE SAME TIME?

Massive War!
Lots of ppl versus lots of ppl I like the idea.
But I doubt it`s possible whitout charging a monthly fee. And if I have to choose between Total War and no monthly fee I`sd just do what I did before let W.O.W. on the shelve and take GW.

The idea is awesome but I don`t think realisticly possible(... yet..... MUHAHAHAHAhahahaha! :D)

I think they should do an areana match kinda like a free for all! were instead of teams 8 people enter and one person walks out victorius!!
So it makes things fairer they should make different classes like a elementalist class, warrior class etc. So that warriors dont always domimate the match.

I like the idea as well. But think of the lag. ;) As I read a post quickly right before I go to class, I would think the max teams at the same time that can go against each other in HoH is 4. In other forums other people suggested it, and got flamed at instead. *shrugs* Don't know why.

Not sure if the original post said this, i didn't follow too well, but to expand on the post just ahead of mine. I would also like to see a map where it is every man for himself. You start out with a map of 8 people, and then in the higher areas have 16, and possibly 32 if they want. Either work it as last man standing, or the person with the most kills wins. It wouldn't have to be for HoH but just to have an arena like that would be awesome, wouldn't have to worry about bringing a res sig either.
