Most trappers use Mesmer as their secondary, but for a 4 man farming team for the UW you also need 1 R/Mo with Rebirth. Warriors can also use stances that evade, so they come in at #3.
no, I've been running a trapper build since before trapping ever came to be popular in PvP, and I've never used my secondary. You'll see a lot of fools running around with a staff for the extra manna, but it's just not necessary, you lose atts to the secondary that could be pumped into WS or Exp, which will be your 2 main atts. The build I run is virtually unhittable, only hexes and ele spikers can do it damage, and with the +10 regen from troll, that's not a major concern.
Same here, Trapping is all about placing the traps and evading all damage and place them down again. If I do use a second class I tend to use Warrior so I can use some of the tactics skills such as shields up.
It all depends on what and where you are trapping.
For PvP its mostly R/Me because of Mantra's Resolve.
Also R/W using Victory is Mine to gain back hp and energy in a VIM trapping group.
PvE I tend to see more R/Mo because of Rebirth and they use trap paths and pull where as PvP they come after you and you need interupt protection (resolve.)
I agree that VIM is a nice skill to build around. But when trapping ettins it is nice to use any skill to take them down faster. There is not enough ettins in an area to make VIM effective to the amount of health you lost.
Torlax The Great - R/(Everything) - lvl 20
Drogod Rathen - E/Mo - lvl 19
Torlax The Brute - W/Mo - lvl 8
Desin Of The Lost - Mo/Me - lvl 9
what she said is right, staff actually comes in handy with the extra energy you can lay more traps without waiting for energy regen and also you don't need to pump in any attribute pts in the secondary profession in order to use the staff. Any pro trappers know that. plus rebirth is a MUST when you're with a trapping team in UW bc of the range and also being able to rez ally to a safe area...hope that was helpful somewhat:)
