hi guys
i was wondering, i see many people talking about IWAY character, ive found the skill that they always talk about " i Will Avenge You " and i know, well at 99.9% that they are Warrior/Ranger, am trying to get info about em, and i was wondering if someone could explain what skill they use and why they use them...

First off, realize that IWAY is generally considered a pretty n00bish build set and is only really good to farm 1 or 2 fame at a time. I've never run it myself, but I know a little about the build setup.
Obviously, people use "I will avenge you!" in an IWAY build. They are a Wa/R because then they can take IWAY and Charm Animal, which allows them to have an extra ally to draw attack speed and regen from after it dies. The build also relies on Necromancers for wells, Death Novas, and Putrid Explosions so that the corpses are somewhat useful and don't provide the enemy with anything.
The Edge of Extinction ability is also useful because it allows those deaths that happen on both teams to hurt the enemy AND to bring more bodies to the IWAY team's IWAY skill. Pretty sure that traps can be helpful, too.
From what I know, no monks come along, at least not monk primaries. People might bring Light of Dwayna for mass rezing after the wars hit a long-duration IWAY, but it is usually the Necros that take it.
Umm... That's just about all I know about the IWAY build. It isn't a single-person build, but is rather a build designed for whole parties or parts of parties. Normally, "I will avenge you!" is a fairly useless skill because it relies on people in your party dying but doesn't make up for the difference, but in a pvp, gvg, or HoH build set up to make use of it, it can be incredibly powerful and dangerous. Don't use it. Use your knowledge of it to avoid it rather than to use it, because otherwise you are using an effective, but overused and widely disliked build.

well said and eloquently put re. the sometimes lemming like behavior of overused and abused techniques. I would like to point out... if you are a warrior that has to take henchies into very heavy combat... such as skill capping around ember light and such... it's a handy skill, i once watched a w/m carry on to defeat a very large mob when myself and 6 henchies died

so the IWAY build is disliked?
Never though of that, or never thinked about that.
Ive seen many people using different build, and i guess this one isnt a build that can be very dislike, when i went into king's tomb ive seen a complete IWAY team, it sounded more like a good team work, and in king's tomb ive seen also, a full team of trapper, pure trapper, none of them was shooting arrow, we have beated em up, but it was kinda annoying, their goal was only to bring us in them trap, and during fight they were putting trap around us, I DO LIKE trapper, but in this exemple between IWAY AND TRAPPER team, i think i would like more IWAY, but hey it only my idea, still thx for info about the build guys.

The only concern about IWAY that I have is that so many people copy it and don't learn on their own. In itself, IWAY is a brilliant idea, striking hard and fast. +cred to whoever invented IWAY.
But the 'noobish' part of IWAY is the people copying it, and then using it over and over. Using someone elses idea to win battles seems pretty weak and stupid.
Thankfully, there are counterbuilds that help to keep down the number of people whose only strategy in PvP is IWAY. FOC Necros for instance.
IWAY should only be used in situations like 'one more win for favor', or something like that. Don't use IWAY as your only strategy, if it fails, then you are screwed.

Ranger or mesmers or ranger/mesmers who know what they are doing like the IWAY build :)
Place a couple of cripples on target, play tag team with a friend keeping target crippled for that 10+sec. Then health degen and bleed them and poison them.
Also keep throwing in a cripple now n then so you can keep them under control and a spare cripple for if they have a sig or something.
Also throw in a /wave for those mouthy ones.
Edit = ooops near forgot to say blind is also a skill you need to stop then going to bow use and hitting your party. A bit of dirt throw comes in handy and have you seen the range on that :O

I came out of exile because of the "Cheap and n00bish" coment toward IWAY Teams.
This is like saying that the MM (Minion Master) builds is cheap and noobish because so many people use it.
It can take up to an Hour at least in Tombs to geat a good balanced team going.
The IWAY build consisting of 4x W/R with Pets, 2 R/Me trappers, 1 N/Mo Order and 1 N/E tainted with Windborne Speed.
This build is simple and effective and easy to get going in tombs.
Rather than waiting an hour, you typically have to wait 15 minutes at the most to get an IWAY team going.
I would say the same for a MF (Minion factory) or spiker team: which are also heavily used (copied) yet not considered cheap and noobish (On this form).
My feeling is those that have or do get pwned by IWAY dislike it.
If your only getting 1-2 fame with your IWAY team your not playing it to it's full capabilities.
I've had one or two wins at a time in an IWAY group but I've also made it to HoH with an IWAY team. Depends on the day.
As with any build in tombs it takes time to learn (the build) and get used to those you are playing with.
I've played on IWAY teams and against IWAY teams in balanced builds. Winning some and loosing some.
If I want to get going ASAP because I am under time constraints I go for an IWAY team.
If I have all day I like a good balanced build.
As for Iway in Pve personally I was able to take out a group and a Lvl 28 boss when the entire party was killed.
Anet nerfing IWAY? I don't think so because IWAY relys on dead allies.

What does suck is that at times the only build running in Tombs is IWAY.
In which case a good counter IWAY team is fun.
Trappers, VIM monk/s, Ele warders, hammer W/x

this is what am kinda saying, i h8 when all people saying that IWAY sux, it dosen't it just like every1 said, nobody try to make their special own build. with my IWAY build, ive try first the real build that every1 use, but none since ive tested it am trying different way of using it, even with a hammer! The knockdown and poison thing is really usefull sumtime against monk, poison em, and if they try to heal them self! Bang on ground, IWAY are fun to play, but i would agree that is a little noobish build if u just copie this build, try it once, then try to make ur own build, and could be more usefull then just try the samething that every1 do...
